Hello all!  I'm about to embark on a week and a half of celebrations in our household (mind you I'll still be around, just not as much as usual).  However, before I do, I wanted to share my latest creation with you all.  This one uses a cute image from the La Journee de Roger collection from Nicecrane Designs.

Card Design: Imagine That...Mailbox Kitties

http://www.imaginethatdigistamp.com/index.html
Hello everyone.  I'm here today to present my second Imagine That! Digis by Kris project for April.  However, before I get to it I just wanted to share some of what has been happening over at the Imagine That! blog these past few weeks.

Free Stuff

  • Kris has hopped on board the Pixel Scrapper Blog Train for April and has some fabulous free stuff up for grabs.  This month it is all about the sea which is evident by the items in her Reflections set.  Not only do you get all the elements shown in this preview, but you also get six digital papers (6 in. x 6 in.).  The papers are a sampling of her new Nautical papers available in the store now (details below).
  •  Kris is also generously offering up her Water Alpha for free too!
  • To take advantage of either of these freebies, be sure to go to the main blog and check out the originating post that you can find HERE. I don't know how much longer these will be available, so be sure to go and grab them now while you can.  If you do, don't forget to leave Kris some love.

New Sets in the Store

  • Kris has been hard at work creating some great new sets for the store as well.  Respective links can be found below each preview.
  • First up is the set of 6x6 Nautical papers that I referenced above.  You can get all 16 papers for just $2.50 as they are currently on sale (original price $3.00).

  • Kris has created a set that fits well with the nautical theme of the PS BT and her new papers.  The set is called, "My Sailmate".  Now if you are part of the progressive challenge, then you were lucky enough to receive this set for free this month to play in the challenge.  If you'd like to jump on board and join in, you can purchase this set on sale for only $3.00 (original price $4.50).  If you use images from this set and enter into our progressive challenge, you will automatically earn the set for May.

I'm Sponsoring...The Outlawz Challenge Blog

http://outlawzchallenges.ning.com/group/monday-greetings
Oh goodness me.  I forgot to post about my latest sponsorship that started on Monday April 13th.  At least I remembered before it was too late!

Once again I am honoured to be sponsoring the latest challenge over at the Outlawz Challenge Blog.  It has been a busy few weeks of sponsorship but this will be the last one until late in the summer which will allow me time to create some new sets.

While you do have to sign in over at Outlawz, it is free to be a member and there is a different challenge every day of the week to keep you busy.  Every Monday it is the Greeting Cards Challenge.  That is the one that I am sponsoring this week.  The rules of the challenge are that your project must have a greeting/sentiment on the outside.  The theme this week is April Showers and/or RainbowsThe weekly winner is announced at the beginning of the following week and the prizes are awarded monthly.

This particular challenge had me a bit stumped simply because I didn't know which direction to take my designs in.  I didn't know if team members would like a set geared solely to rainy days with a few rainbow items thrown in or if they would want to stick with the theme of rainbows.  Then I wasn't sure if they would want literal rainbows or just the colours of the rainbow.  My goodness it was a difficult decision for me.  Finally I decided to go in all three directions but given the time frame just put together the paper sets.  Hopefully, in the future I'll be able to expand on each of the sets and add other elements.

First up I created 12 patterned Papers for my Rainy Days kit...

Then I worked on a set that had some realistic rainbows in them and called it Chasing Rainbows.  This set has six patterned papers with scenes of rainbows on them...

...and then six textured papers.  These particular textured papers have all the colours of the rainbow in them but each paper has a different texture.  Unfortunately, it is a bit difficult to see in the preview but I laid it out horizontally instead of the usual vertical so that you can see the colours of each paper.  There are three in the top half of the preview and three in the bottom.  I've used a shadow to help distinguish between papers...

Finally I put together a set soley based on the colours of the rainbow.  This set is aptly called Colours of the Rainbow.  There are 12 patterned papers and 12 textured in this set.  The patterned papers have different geometrical designs--everything from chevrons and stripes to argyle and stars and lots in between.  Once again, each of these papers have all the colours of the rainbow in them.  As I did in the above set, I also laid these ones out horizontally.  This way you can see the colours of each paper along with a snippet of the design.  In this set, there are six in the top half of the preview and six in the bottom with a shadow added to help distinguish between papers...

The coordinating set of textured papers are all solids, each a different colour of the rainbow...

All of these sets will be offered up as prizes for the winner.  If anyone is interested in purchasing one of these sets, please let me know and I'll get it uploaded to the store.

I hope that you'll consider playing along in their challenge.  To help provide some incentive, I am offering up one of the patterned papers from the Colours of the Rainbow kit as a freebie.

Card Design: Scribbles Designs Challenge #28--Spring Has Sprung

It is time for our new challenge over at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.

This time around, for Challenge #28, the theme is Spring Has Sprung!

"Under the giving snow blossoms a daring spring." ~Terri Guillemets
The snow is now mostly all gone, here in North America. The grass is turning from shades of brown to green and the trees and flowers are starting to form buds. Yes, spring has finally sprung on this side of the world and not a minute too soon as far as we're concerned! It is high time to break out all your stamps depicting the beauty of the season. Whether you go with a creation featuring botanical elements in full bloom, or simply want to focus on a particular event associated with this time of the year, it is up to you. Just keep in mind that this month, we want to see a project that reflects the true nature of spring.

In order to participate in our challenges you DO NOT NEED TO USE A SCRIBBLES DESIGNS IMAGE on your project but you must follow the monthly theme and the other rules that have been established for our particular challenge blog.  You can find them, along with the prize information, listed in the right hand sidebar of the challenge blog.  This challenge will end at 9pm PST on May 14th.

You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE and there is a free image over on the challenge blog as well to help get you started.  Also, be sure to check out the special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.

To help inspire you, I have created a simple 'thinking of you' card for a special friend.  This particular card features one of Sandy's great floral images.

Here are my card and all the details...

General Information:
  • This challenge afforded me the opportunity to whip out another of the tapes from my washi collection.  I just thought they would make a nice frame for Sandy's beautiful image.

Digital Image Details:
  • Flower Pot 2: This image definitely screams spring to me.  Click on the name or the watermark below, to head to its location in the store. I've coloured it in mostly with coloured pencils and then used Copic markers for the pot and for grounding around the image.

Card Design: Deedee's Digi of the Month Challenge...April

Progressive Freebie Challenge!
Hey there and a happy Sunday to you all!  It is time to post my project for the Digi of the Month Challenge taking place over at Deedee's Digis.

In order to enter the progressive challenge, you must either have received the latest image by having participated in the previous month or you can buy the stamp for the current month's challenge.  Everyone who enters and follows the rules is a winner because you automatically get the stamp for the next month's challenge.  Stop by the site and check out the rules for yourself.  Be sure to check out the store while you are there too.  Currently there are a few sets available for free and of course there are some wonderful ones available for purchase in the store.  Due to the new EU VAT tax, Deedee's store has been split into two sections so make sure you head to the right section of the store if you plan on making a purchase.

Right now it is time to check out the wonderful set participants got to work with this month...

This month's set is another one filled with versatility.  You can make everything from a 'Mother's Day' card or a 'get well' card or even a 'thinking of you' or 'sympathy card'.  You could even make a 'birthday' card, or others as well.  So many wonderful options are available in the "Blooming Blessings" set.  Of course, each set comes with both outline and coloured versions to provide you with some variety.  If you did not participate in last month's challenge, you can still purchase this set for just $1.25 during the month of April at the store. You can find it HERE if you are a resident of the European Union, or find it HERE if you are NOT a resident of the EU.

Here are my card and details...

General Information:
