Winner Announcement: TLC Bloghop

http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.ca/
I've just been down the rabbit hole and have come back up with the winners of the special sentiment set I created for the recent Alice in Wonderland themed bloghop sponsored by Create with TLC.

I was absolutely tickled pink with the number of comments I received--46 of them!  The highest number of comments ever on one post if I remember correctly!!!

Several people played along for their chance to win.  We'll start with the winners of the sentiment set.

There were two different ways to win or earn it.

First up, I offered to give away the set for free to anyone who provided me with proof of purchase of the special Bloghop set that Paulette sold over at TLC during the duration of the hop.  Two people took advantage of this; so, congrats to both Anne M. and Margaret A. who have already received their set.

Next up, anyone who left a comment telling me which Alice in Wonderland Character they related most to and why, was eligible to win a copy of the set.  I never stated how many sets were available to win, I merely stated that the more people who commented, the more sets I would give away.  Well, a total of 17 people let me know who they identified with.
  • 7 people related to Alice.
  • 4 people related to the White Rabbit.
  • 3 people related to the Mad Hatter.
  • 2 people related to the Cheshire Cat.
  • 1 person related to the March Hare.
  • 1 person related to the Queen of Hearts.
  • 1 person related to three different characters:  the White Rabbit, the Mad Hater and the Cheshire Cat!
It was such fun to read everyone's reasoning as to why they related to the specific character they chose.  If you want to check out some of the responses, click HERE and scroll down to the comment section.  Their replies will definitely put a smile on your face if you are a fan of Alice in Wonderland.

I have decided I am going to give out a total of six different sets! The first four sets were chosen randomly (using Miniwebtool.org).  Congrats to:

Lynne aka Her Craftiness
DonnaMundinger
TangledBlueRose (Kim)
Tigger a(r)t work

Then I decided to give away a set to the person whose comment I enjoyed the most.  Problem was, choosing only one was much more difficult than I thought it was going to be.  The comments left were are wonderful.  In the end, I couldn't come up with just one, so there are two particular comments that put an extra smile on my face.

So, congrats to:
Debi B.
Maureen J. Scott

I'm going to share those comments here.  Hopefully they will put a smile on your face as well.

The first one is from Debi B who said:
Lisa,
Fabulous card and lots of info in this post. Thank you for all that work! I think I relate to Alice when she took the pill to make her small. At 4'10" and shrinking, there has been many a time I wished I had the antidote pill! Thanks for the banner. I may be back to work on those quotes.
    Hugs,
    DebiB

Given that I am only 5' myself, that my mom and aunt are 4' 11" and that my grandmother was about 4' 8", I can definitely relate to all of us wanting an antidote pill often during our lives!

The second one is from Maureen J. Scott  who said:
Oh Fabulous Lisa! I reckon, right now, at this time of the month, I'm a bit like the Queen of Hearts - 'all ways here are my ways', and if you don't do it my way... off with your head! Or, bed without any supper in the case of these crazy kids of mine! hahaha
    mo x
I just got this vision of Maureen running around shouting 'off with your heads' to her wayward children and ended up with a fit of the giggles.

So ladies, in order to claim your free sentiment set, just send an email to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca, (don't forget to replace the {at} and {dot} with the appropriate symbols) with the subject heading TLC Bloghop Sentiment Winner.

Finally, at the very end of my post, I offered to send a copy of the A Matter of Time paper set for free (I used one of the papers in the background of my card) to the first person who was able to spot and recite the four quotes I used in my post from Alice in Wonderland.

Congrats to...
Nan Bourdeu

who found the following quotes in my post:
  1. don't be a wildflower and join the tea party
  2. curiouser and curiouser
  3. We're all mad here
  4. Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.
Nan, to claim your free set of papers, send an email to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca, (don't forget to replace the {at} and {dot} with the appropriate symbols) with the subject heading TLC Bloghop Paper Win.

Well, I think that should about cover it!  Thank you so much to everyone who participated.  I hope that I'll see you all play again in a future giveaway.

I'll leave off with one of my favourite quotes from Alice in Wonderland:

“Have I gone mad? I'm afraid so.
You're entirely Bonkers.
But I will tell you a secret,
All the best people are.”

Until next time,

 Motivational Monday

If you are new to my blog and would like to know why I started Motivational Monday, please go HERE.

Hello and happy Monday to those of you stopping by today.  I appreciate you taking the time to come over and read what I have to say.

This evening, I'll be sharing this month's Motivational Monday passage, along with a card I created and couple freebies at the bottom of the post.

The reflection, and one of the freebies can also be found over on my Path of Positivity challenge blog as part of the midway post where the theme this month is SHARING.

 On with today's thoughts...

A Joy That is Shared Is a Joy Made Double

In this month's Pondering Along the Pathway,  Pat made reference to the idea that:
"The universe moves towards maintaining balance, so what you give to others eventually comes back to you. In fact, if you want to multiply the things in your life that matter—health, balance, happiness—you need to share what you already have!"
This is a concept that I learned about many, many years ago but I think I lost track of it for a while.  It was nice to be reminded again of how important it is share what you have with the rest of the world and if you are lucky enough, you'll benefit from the effort that you yourself have put out.

Now I know that many of us are not in a position to share too much of our money these days with the financial woes that affect people across North America and beyond.  However, it isn't always about sharing our money.  The simple act of sharing a smile with a stranger can potentially help lift that person's mood.  Can you imagine if the smile you shared ended up resulting in 1000 more smiles shared due to the ripple effect it caused?!  How wonderful would that be to know that a simple act could create so much happiness.

Or how about sharing a bit of our time with someone in need?  Whether volunteering with a charitable organization or simply spending time with someone who is going through a difficult patch, taking some time out of our busy schedules to come to the aid of another is definitely another way we can share ourselves with the world around us.

As card makers, we have the ability to do so much more sharing.  Our talents can help to lift someone's spirits with a simple 'thinking of you' card.  Sending a 'get well' card to someone recovering from illness may be just the medicine they need to give them that final push back into wellness. Sharing 'birthday wishes' with someone you normally wouldn't think to send a card to may help to bring just a bit of happiness to that person.  The simple act of creating and sending a card to someone shows that person that someone cares and that they are not alone.

Whatever it is that you share--your time, your money, your talents--remember that "a joy shared is a joy made double" (Proverbs).  If you are lucky, some of that goodness will be doubled back on you.

This month our sponsors are...
 and Limited Runs...

http://limitedrunsstamps.blogspot.ca
Next up, is the card I made using an image from Limited Runs...

True friends are a special part of life.  You can share anything with them and they won't judge you.  They'll sit back and listen.  They won't even offer advice unless it is asked for.  There is nothing better than sharing time with these special people in our lives.  As such I've created this card to share with one of the many friends I am blessed with.

General Info:
  • This card was created mostly digital and then printed out and assembled.  The hearts were added once assembled.
  • This particular layout was inspired by a From the Hearts Stamps Sketch.

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Sleeping Mouse:   This adorable mouse was coloured with a combination of digital paper piecing and coloured pencils.  It can be found in section #51-60 of the Furry Critters category in the store.  Click on the watermark to head over to that section.
  • The blankets were digitally paper pieced using two of my papers (details below).  I just used some coloured pencils to give the blankets some shading.
  • The teddy bear was paper pieced with a texture from Texturemate.com.
  • The digital paper used to paper piece the pillow is from the Another Tea Party kit created by Correen Silke available at {Computer}Scrapbook.com.
Embellishments:
  • The satin hearts are Crafts brand and were purchased at Dollarama.
