Card Design: FBD Blog Candy Challenge Reminder

Hey guys, I am here today to remind you all about the Blog Candy Giveaway Challenge that is going on over at Fresh Brewed Designs.  Don't forget, for the whole year in 2014 we will be having ONE blog candy challenge per month.

There is still time to enter and win in this month's challenge.  Remember this particular challenge is ANYTHING GOES using an FBD image

http://freshbreweddesigns.blogspot.com/2013/12/blog-candy-link-up-challenge.htmll
Check out all those goodies.  That package of cardstock has all of the colors in it to match each of the ink pads.  Then you get coordinating designer papers and pretty embellishments!

It's a $75.00 value and all you have to do, to earn a chance to win it, is create and link up a new card using any Fresh Brewed Designs image along with posting the badge you see at the top of the page, to your sidebar. For all the rules and details, please click HERE or on the badge above.

Here is a card that I have created to help inspire you...

General Notes:

  • Here is one of the reasons I love digi stamps so much. While some may be very straightforward, others can be open to interpretation. For example, the image I used in my creation is called Joy-Christmas Trees.  Yes, I can easily see that the cone shapes are trees with snow falling around them.  However, I also see something else.  I see party hats with confetti and a joy banner stretched across. In my mind, this is a perfect New Year's decoration.  Isn't that such a great thing?  No, not my particular interpretation, but the fact that we can see more than one image come to life.  It definitely makes your digi stamps more versatile when you can see multiple ideas.  More bang for the buck is always a good thing!

FRONT
Digital Image:
  • Joy - Christmas Trees:  This image is currently available in the FBD store.  You can find it by clicking on the image name or watermark below.
http://www.freshbreweddesigns.com/item_954/Joy--Christmas-Trees.htm
  • Copics used... Hats: RV00, RV02, RV04, B91, B93, B95, Y11, Y13, Y15.  Banner: G00.  Green chalk for tabletop.  Confetti accents added with various colours of glitter glue.  Here is a close up--check out all that sparkle...

Digital Sentiment:
  • I printed the sentiment (my own) directly onto the image before printing.
Embellishments:
  • The various colours of curling ribbon and the big white button are all from my stash.
Embossing Folder:
  • The large dots on the pink and yellow cardstock were created with a Goosebumpz embossing folder using my wonderful Big Shot machine.

INSIDE
Digital Image:
  • I managed to sneak in a couple little presents. The image is from Sami Stamps. It is currently still a freebie. You can order it from the freebies page in the Sami Stamps store. Clicking on the watermark below will take you there.
    • This image was coloured with coloured pencils.
Digital Sentiment:
  • One I created.
Other Notes:
  • I created the stitching around the image/sentiment boxes digitally.
OVERALL
Paper Products:
  • Card base: Michael's Recollection's Card Kit, white, lg.
  • Designer Papers:
    • The striped paper used on the front is from Recollection's Bold Basics Paper Pad.
    • The yellow, pink and blue cardstock is Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.

  14. Hi, Lisa - I am visiting today with my DT hat on :-) What a cute card! I really like how you added the curling ribbon - I just picked up some of this at the thrift store, a brand-new roll came with a bag of other ribbon and I was wondering how I would incorporate it on a card - fabulous inspiration here - thank you! And thank you for joining us at Glitter n Sparkle for our Stitching Real or Faux challenge. All the best to you in the draw and I hope you can join us again. We have a new challenge starting on Sunday.
