Card Design: A Christmas Card using San's Design

Hello my dear peeps.  I hope that you are all well on this fine Wednesday morning.  It is time to showcase another card using one of San's great images.

Part of this card you have seen before, as the front was entered into the last Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas Challenge.  On the front of that card, I used a freebie sentiment that I picked up quite awhile back as part of a set of Christmas sentiments.  Here is a refresher as to what the front of that card looked like...

Digital Image:
  •  As mentioned in the original post, the image of the santa and tree is from Nana Vic Digitals. It was coloured with Copic Markers and I used glitter glue to highlight certain areas.
Digital Sentiment:
  •  As mentioned earlier, the sentiment is from San.  I love this circular sentiment.  The snowflake is really cool and the stitching around the edge of the circle adds a nice touch to the overall design.  I also like how the snowflake extends past the inner circle.  I used chalk to colour up the snowflake; although, it is a bit faint in the picture.
  • I used my Cricut machine to cut a snowflake shape to sit in behind the sentiment.
Embellishments:
  •  The large half 'pearls' are Crafts brand from Dollarama.
INSIDE
Digital Image:
  • This funky little snowman is a recent release over at San's Design.  It was part of the 'Christmas in July' release from just last month.  I love this cute little snowman and was glad to get a chance to use him on my card.  It was coloured with Copic Markers.  Snow/snowman/flakes: Colourless Blender, BG 70, BG 72.  I used the palette method to soften the difference between the colours.  Stick arms:  E31, E33, E39.  Birds:  R20, R22, R24, W3.  Lantern:  B21, B24, Y 21, Y23.
  • If you are interested in purchasing this image, please click on the watermark below and it will take you to its location in the store.
Digital Sentiment:
  • One I created for the holidays last Christmas.  You can find it HERE if you'd like to grab it.  It comes in two different styles and four different colours for each of the styles.
Embellishments:
  • The metallic snowflakes are from a stash I got from my momma so I'm afraid I don't know where they came from.

OVERALL
Paper Products:
  • Card base: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
  • Designer Paper: Christmas paper and dotted paper (front & inside)-- Recollection's All Seasons Paper Pad.
  • Shimmery white cardstock (matting behind dotted paper, front & inside) along with the red paper used as matting in behind images/sentiments (front & inside)--Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.
Cricut Cartridge:
  • I used Elegant Edges to create the snowflake backdrop used in behind the sentiment on the front of the card.
I hope that you have liked these fabulous images from San.  She really does have some wonderful digis and if you haven't been by the blog or shop in awhile, now is a great time to visit.  You never know what little gems you may find.

Card Design: Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas Challenge #7-Second Card

Hello all my lovely friends, followers and readers!  Thank you so much for all your many well wishes during the last few days as I battle this virus that has invaded my system.  Today, the vice around my head isn't quite so tight, I now feel like I'm gargling sand instead of glass and it no longer feel like I am going to cough up a lung.  Unfortunately, or fortunately in the case of my husband, I haven't had a voice for three days now.  I am also still very tired and extremely weak.  However, all that being said, I do believe that I'm starting the climb back up hill into wellness.  It has been almost two weeks since my husband first got sick and he is still feeling the lingering effects, so I know this will not disappear over night and that I'll be going back and forth in my journey to recovery.  It is just nice to be able to sit upright for a little longer.

Now I had to come online tonight because I MUST get my second card uploaded into the Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas Challenge. Once again though, I will simply be providing just the basics and only the front of the card and will post the details and the inside when I am feeling better.

Our lovely sponsor for this month is Nana Vic Digitals.  This is what I have come up with for my second card...

The sentiment is from San's Design.

Here is a closer look at Santa in all his sparkly goodness...

So, another Christmas card complete and just in time for uploading it.  I'll be back as soon as I can with all the details.

Until next time,

Card Design: The Christmas Card Panic Begins

Can you believe that this is only the second Christmas card I've made?  I'm in sooooo much trouble.  I've been trying to pull off some really simple and quick designs.  No time to colour right now if I have any hopes of these cards getting to their destinations on time.  I have been working on colouring some images but haven't been able to put a card together for them yet.  Here is the first of two I've made so far.

As I said REALLY simple.

Here are the details.  I hope I haven't forgotten anything...
  • Image of Santa is an AWESOME freebie that I got from Grands9Creations.  It was pre-coloured saving me a lot of time.  I've been wanting to create a card using an image from my wonderful friend Sue, and here it finally is.  It is the first of several I plan to use on Christmas cards this year.  Please go and pay Sue's blog a visit and become a follower if you haven't already.  As of last count she is just one member shy of 100--an awesome milestone that she wants to reach by her blogiversary January 1st.  So help her out if you can.  She provides daily free word art creations so the trip over is definitely worth it.
  • To fulfill the requirements of one of the challenges, "use a sentiment", this image has one built right in to save me time.  Plus there are some words running along the bottom.  They should count too right?
  • Paper:  The base is from a card set I got at Dollarama(R) some time ago.  I've had it over a year so I'm finally using up some of my older stash (a requirement for another of the challenges); the Christmas themed papers are all from a Recollections(R) Christmas paper pad (sorry I don't have the exact name--I'm upstairs and it is downstairs right now).
  • The fabric snowflakes are from Dollarama(R).
  • The sentiment inside is also from a year old stash of rub-ons I also got at Dollarama(R). Amazing all the things you can get for a buck or two, isnt it?
  •  One of the challenges is a doing a cute christmas theme.  I believe that Sue's image firmly falls in the category of cute, don't you?
I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to leave some love if you have the time.

Until next time,
