Card Design: Happy 4th Birthday Imagine That Digistamp!!!

Shop Our Digis!

Hey folks! Imagine That! Digistamp turns 4 years old this month and we've decided that this is the perfect opportunity to take a little walk down memory lane. Over two posts yesterday and two today, we are showcasing creations made with our DT members' favourite sets along with a sample of their very first project! Be sure to head on over to the blog to check out the creations thus far!

Here are my contributions! I hope you enjoy this little trek down memory lane!

I officially became a DT Member in December, 2014.

My very first project was this card:

You can find the details for this card HERE.

Now here is a card made with my favourite set in the store...

I really love the moonlit lake in one of the coloured versions from this set. There is just something so romantic about these beautiful swans. The bow tie on the male and the flowers intertwined on the female's neck are such sweet additions. I also love the heart shape that their heads make. It is an image that simply exudes love. I've paired it with a pretty paper from one of my favourite digi paper sets from the store simply re-colouring it to match the colour of the water.

Notes:

Card Design: Scribbles Designs Challenge #36 Midway Point......Bingo

Happy New Year Everyone!!!  And a busy New Year's Day it is.  This is one of six posts across all the blogs that I work on that I need to get out today!  Right now it is time for the midway for the latest Scribbles Designs Challenge to get started.

There are two whole weeks left for you to come on over and enter.   In case you've missed it, the theme this time around for Challenge #36, is Bingo!  Did you play BINGO as a child?  Maybe you still do.  The fun thing about BINGO is that you can adapt it to play in different ways.  For example, the game can be adapted for coming up with different ideas to add to your card or project.  If you haven't played a BINGO challenge before it is a pretty easy concept to follow.  Simply create a card or other kind of project using any 5 items listed below in a row--across, down or diagonally, it is up to you.  For example, you might choose to work with the items in the second row down--glitter, pearls, patterned paper, a sentiment and the colour red.  Or maybe you'll choose to use all the items in the last row down under the 'O"--No patterned paper, red, washi tape, blue and some gems.  Whichever row you choose, just please be sure to mention in your post the items you have chosen to use.  We look forward to seeing the different combinations, you all come up with!

Entering is super simple!  You do not need to use a Scribbles Designs image; however, if you do, your name gets entered into the draw twice.  You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE or you can also find one for a limited time on the challenge blog HEREAlso, be sure to check out our special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.  You can find the rest of the rules and information regarding winners in the sidebar on the challenge blog.  You have until 9pm PST on January 14th to come over and play with us.

Here is my card and all the details...

General Information:

  • Okay, so I am starting out the New Year, showcasing a special card I created for an order from a friend to give as a wedding card for a fall wedding that took place in October.  It happens to be my favourite creation yet!
  • The original invitation had leaves on it in brown with a creamy base.  As soon as I saw it I knew the exact image from Scribbles Designs to use to make a paper for my background.
  • My friend requested something Shabby Chic so I went searching and found a gorgeous card to model my own after created by Kat from the Paper Firefly blog which can be found HERE.  I followed the same layout and even created a sentiment very similar to the one she used but all my papers and embellies are completely different.
  • Bingo choices:  under the N using Bling, Patterned Paper, FREE, Twine, & Ribbon.

FRONT

Digital Paper Details:
  • Maple Leaf Doodle:  I have used the Maple Leaf Doodle before and I know I will again, it is just such a beautiful and versatile image.
  • I took the image and created a digital paper with it.  This paper will eventually be available for sales under the Scribble Doodle Designs label, once I create a few more to add to the set.
  • Click on the name above or watermark below to find it in the store.
http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2014/10/a-47-maple-leaf-doodle-400.html
  • Here is a pic of the back of the card that allows you to see a better view of the image.

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • As mentioned above, I created a digital sentiment based on the one used on the card that inspired me.  I modelled it after an existing rubber stamp that can be found for sale HERE at the Lili of the Valley Company.  The stamp that I created is for my own personal use and therefore I believe that no copyright infringement has occurred.

Embellishments:
  • The flowers, twine, ribbon and little tiny halfpearls are all Crafts brand and were purchased at Dollarama.

INSIDE

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • My friend wanted the inside very simple and requested velum.  This is the first time that I have ever used velum and I have to say that I am pleased with the effect.  I simply created a congratulations sentiment and added their names and matted it before attaching it to the velum.  Thankfully I was able to affix the tape in behind the matting so that it didn't show at all.

Card Design: A Wedding Card with Nicecrane Designs

http://nicecranedesigns.com/
Good evening to all you lovely people who have taken the time to pop by and check out my latest post!  Before I get started, I was wondering if anyone else is being spam bombed?  Normally I might get anywhere from 1 - 15 spam messages a day in my main account here at DDD.  Sometimes I'll get more but usually it is pretty consistent.  For some reason though, this past Friday I received over 50 of them.  I was surprised but then it has only gotten worse.  Over the course of the weekend I received over 250 and then each day since then, I've steadily been getting close to 200 a day.  In my other blogger aliases I'm only getting the usual 1-15 so I honestly don't know why I'm getting so many on this blog alias.  It really does feel like I'm being bombed.  Is anyone else experiencing an increased onslaught or am I in the minority here?  I'm rather curious.

Anyway, enough of that, now it is time to get on with the reason for today's post.  Today I am showcasing a special request card that I made last year.
Of course the request came from my momma so I didn't get paid but at least there is someone out there interested enough in the cards I create, to order one.  Of course, she is my mother so she might be a bit biased. ;)  Now I had several projects created last year for Nicecrane Designs and decided to keep this one and post it at a later date.  Since June seems to be be when the wedding season gets revved up, I thought this month would be the perfect month to post it.  In hindsight though, maybe I should have waited a couple more weeks and then it would have been posted in time for their anniversary!!!

For this card I have used an image from Nicecrane Designs from the About Fairies and Angels II set.  I've always loved angels, my piano top is overflowing with them.  You know when you collect something and then everyone decides they'll add to your collection?  Well that is what has happened to my poor angel collection, but I digress.  So, getting back on track, as I said I've always loved angels but I do like fairies as well.  Apparently so does my momma because she really liked the images available in this collage sheet.

My momma also really liked the card design I did for the 25th anniversary card I made for the hubs last year so that is what I used on this card.  Check it out...

Digital Image Details:
  • About Fairies and Angels II:  For this card I used the image you see on the bottom left hand corner.  Once again there is such a cute collection of images.  As my momma didn't want the saying that was on the image, I removed it from the card as altering is allowed in the terms of use.  Click on the name or the watermark below to take you to its location in the store.

    Before I go...
There are always so many wonderful images available at Nicecrane's Designs that I can't leave without sharing some of the others with you.  If you like the images from the set I used then you are sure to love the images from the first collection called About Fairies and Angels.  This set contains six lovely images perfect for card and ATC design.  Be sure to go and check them out while you are at the store (c
