Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #103...Colours of Hallowe'en

http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.ca
Happy Friday everyone and more importantly Happy Hallowe'en!  It is time to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design ChallengeThis time around for Challenge #103, the theme for the next two weeks is Colours of Hallowe'en.

Here is my card, I hope that I haven't forgotten any important details:

General Information:
  • While I love this time of year, I don't really have the need for too many actual Hallowe'en cards.  That is why for this challenge I've chosen to create a fall themed birthday card using the colours of Hallowe'en.
  • I have chosen to create most of the card digitally and then just printed out the front and inside panels, coloured the main image by hand and then assembled the panels onto a base.  I'm using a sketch from the latest challenge over at Crazy 4 Challenges.
FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Pumpkin Watering Can & Mums:  This unique image was perfect for my card.  You can find the image in Pattie's Etsy shop by clicking on the name or watermark linked below.
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • This great circle sentiment is from Netty's Cards.  You can find it and more fabulous freebies by clicking HERE and clicking on the freebies tab at the top of the page.  If you grab any of them, be sure to leave Netty some love.
Digital Embellishments:
  • The flower and button are from my Trick or Treat kit.

Digital Sentiment:
  • This great versatile sentiment was created by Paulette from Create with TLC.  Click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and HERE to go to the store.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card base:  Michael's Recollection's cardstock, white.
Digital Paper Products:
  • The designer papers are also from the Trick or Treat kit.  I used the striped one from the patterned paper set and two different textured ones from the textured set.
Challenges I am hoping to enter...
I really hope that you will join us sometime during the next two weeks. Don't forget that along with all the typical rules that apply to the majority of challenges out there (please click HERE to become familiar with all the rules), you MUST USE A DIGITAL OR STAMPED IMAGE to qualify for the drawing (unless stated otherwise). We would absolutely love to see you use a Pattie's Creations (PC) image on your card, but you are allowed to use other images. If you do use a PC image, you will gain an extra entry in the draw and will have a better chance to WIN! You can enter twice per challenge and of course MUST follow all the challenge requirements that are posted for each challenge. Easy Peasy right!

As always, I hope that you will also check out what my fabulous teammates have offered up for inspiration and pop over in two weeks time for the next challenge brought to you by Team Pattieboop. Oh and don't forget...Pattie offers up a new freebie the first Friday of the month; so, be sure to pop over next week and check it out!

Until next time,

Card Design: Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge...October

http://gerdasteinerdesigns.com
It is time to post my creation for the Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge. Her images are just so cute! Check out the image we got to work with this month...
http://gerdasteinerdesigns.com/all-digital-stamps/kid-with-umbrella-digital-stamp
Kid with Umbrella is another cutie pie and versatile too.  I've made my card into an inspirational one for a friend who has been feeling down lately.  I hope she likes it.

Everyone who has played along in last month's challenge received this image for free.  If you decide to hop on and play along in the Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge, then you can purchase this digital by clicking HERE (or on the watermark above to head to its location in the store).  This way you'll receive next month's digital stamp for free.

Here are my card and details...

General Information:
  • This card was put together digitally and then printed out, so that I could colour the image by hand and then assemble it.
  • There is a bit more spacing at the top than is necessary because when I first came up with my idea for this particular layout, I was going to add some gemstones to the top and then have the ribbon at the bottom like I do.  However, when I was doing the finishing touches I decided that some teardrop stones might look like really big raindrops so I changed the concept and was left with a bit of extra space at the top.  It isn't too much off balance so hopefully it looks okay.

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Kid with Umbrella:  You can find this image in the store.  Details above.
    • This image was coloured in and grounded with Copic Markers.  While it is hard to see, I used chalk to add some ground and then ground around the image.
Embellishments:
  • The ribbon is Crafts brand, purchased at Dollarama.
  • The gemstones are also Crafts brand, purchased at Dollarama.

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • One I created.

Other challenges I hope to enter...
Well guys, I am finally done my progressive posts and not a day too soon!  If all goes well, I'll be posting again tomorrow with a special Hallowe'en treat for you all so see you then!

Card Design: From the Heart Stamps October Challenge

http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/blog/
It is time to post my project for the October, From the Heart Stamps (FTHS) progressive stamp of the month challenge.  In order to enter the progressive challenge, you must either have received the latest image by having participated in the previous month or you can buy the stamp for the current month's challenge.  Everyone who enters and follows the rules is a winner because you automatically get the stamp for the next month's challenge.  Stop by the site and check out the rules for yourself.  While you are there, have a look around.  They have some really awesome images.

Here are my card and details.  I hope I haven't forgotten anything important...

General Information:
  • This card was put together digitally and then printed out, so that I could colour the image mostly by hand and then assemble it.  It is physically a one layer card even though there are four digital layers.
  • Here is the sketch I used from Sketch Saturday.  I really love this sketch as you can see since it was also used on the card I posted this morning. Once again I just flipped the location of the pennant shape.

Thanks for popping by everyone!  I hope you enjoyed my card and post.  I've got one more progressive post to get done so if I can finish the card tonight the I will see you again tomorrow!

    Until then,

p.s. I'm not exactly sure what is up with the spacing and the size of the bullets.  I've removed the formatting and tried again but it isn't changing.  Hopefully it is just a fluke in this post and not the new Blogger norm.

Card Design: 5 Days of Christmas at Fresh Brewed Designs

Good morning all.  While the end of October may be two days away, Christmas is fast approaching.  So, why not be sure to grab some images now to work on your Christmas and/or other holiday related cards.  For some of you, it will be already adding to a stockpile you've been working on.  For others, it may be your first card.  Whichever category you fall into, now is the perfect time to do a little image shopping and Heather has been releasing some brand new Christmas themed images all week to help you out.

Here is the image I got to work with for this special release...
    http://www.freshbreweddesigns.com/category_11/Christmas.htm
I'm such a fan of the Cutie Bugs so it was an honour to be able to create a Christmas card with one of them.  If you click on the watermark, it will take you to the Christmas section of the store where you can find this image, along with all the other ones that have been released so far this week.

Before I show you my card, it is important to note the following...

    Disclaimer:
It clearly states in the Fresh Brewed Designs, terms of use, that images must be hand coloured.  Therefore, please note that I sought out and received permission from the owner, to create a hybrid project that is partially coloured in digitally and partially coloured in by hand.  If you decide that you want to use Fresh Brewed Designs images in this way (partially digitally manipulated), you must seek out permission from Heather before doing so EACH TIME and indicate that you have, when posting.

    General Information:
    • While I missed the deadline for the challenge itself, I did use a sketch from Sketch Saturday.  I really love this sketch and you're actually going to see it again in the next couple days when I post one of my progressive challenge cards.  I just flipped the location of the small pennant.
    http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.ca/
    • YaY, another card added to the Christmas card pot which reminds me, I'm rather behind in getting the winner announcement out for The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.  Hopefully by next week, I'll get the chance to pull it off.

    Digital Image Details:
    • Cutie Bug Christmas:  This image is currently available in the FBD store in the Christmas section.  You can find it by clicking on the image watermark above.
    • This image has been coloured using a combination of techniques.  Parts were coloured digitally (see disclaimer above) and then the image was printed out and the remaining parts were coloured by hand using Copic markers. Digital credits include:

    Digital Sentiment Details:
    • I am so very pleased to finally have the opportunity to use one of the many stamps I have from Limited Runs.  Nikki has such awesome images and I am lucky enough to own several of them.  Unfortunately, I haven't had much of a chance to actually use them so I am pleased to be able to do so now.  This fabulous image and sentiment combined is one I picked up in a win over at Limited Runs.  I've used the pre-coloured version to save some time.  Clicking on the watermark will take you to the Christmas section of the store where you can find this wonderful image.

    Challenges I hope to enter...

    Before you go...
This coming Monday, Heather has several more new images coming out.  Please be sure to pop by on November 3rd to check them all out.  The badge below might just give you a hint as to what the theme will be for the new release...
Be sure to head over to Fresh Brewed Designs to check out all the images that have been released so far this week and then be sure to pop in tomorrow and Friday to check out the remaining ones.  You definitely won't be disappointed!

If you are looking for more fresh brewed inspiration, be sure to pop by again this coming Monday, when I'll be back to showcase a card made with an image from the latest new release.

At Fresh Brewed Designs we always have a fresh pot of creativity brewing. So stop by and join us for a cuppa whenever you want!

    Until next time,

    Additional notes:  Just a reminder...
Remember that terms of use or angel policies will differ with each and every company selling digital images.  While some companies do not take issue with their images being made into digital creations, others do, so make sure you seek permission from EACH COMPANY involved.  Also, keep in mind that if you do create a digital piece of work, even with permission, this does not alter the fact that the original image belongs to the original artist(s).  Creating a hybrid project DOES NOT allow you to claim the new creation as your own and do with it as you wish.  The fact that you'd be using an image for your own personal use does not automatically allow you to do what you want with another artist's work.  So, please be sure to get permission first before going ahead with your ideas.
