Card Design: Imagine That...Progressive Challenge for March

http://imaginethatdigistamp.blogspot.ca/
It is time to upload my creation for the Imagine That Progressive Challenge.  This is another wonderful progressive challenge that I am lucky to be a part of.  I just love the images that Kris B. designs and I'm thrilled to get the chance to earn new sets each month by linking up.

This month the image that everyone who is part of the progressive challenge gets to play with, is the cute Kitty in Flowers!
This is such a sweet image and as always, you get the option of working with either the colour image or the line art one or even both, like I did last month!  This particular set also comes with four different sentiments plus that fabulous 'oh happy day' banner that you see illustrated above.

Here are my card and details, I hope I haven't forgotten anything...

General Comments:

  • This month I opted to work with the precoloured version of the stamp.  I just liked the colours so much and knew I had the perfect matching paper to go along with it!
FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Kitty in Flowers:  If you don't have it, this image is available in the store for purchase at a discount for the remainder of March. Click on the image name or the watermark above to head to its location in the store.
  • As I mentioned above, I used the pre-coloured version.
Embellishments:
  • The ribbon is Osprey brand from my stash.

INSIDE
Digital Sentiment:
  • One available in the Kitty in Flowers kit.  I coloured it to match the blue in the vase.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card base and yellow matting, Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, Citrus Blend collection.
  • The diagonal paper is from the Recollection's All Girl paper pad.  I am always unsure how to use diagonal paper but I think that it works for this kind of layout and of course the colours were spot on with the ones in the digi.
  • The pink cardstock is from the Pink Buttons collection and the blue one is from the Cape Cod collection both are Recollections brand purchased at Michael's.
Challenges I am hoping to enter...

I encourage you to go and check out the digis that Kris offers along with the Progressive Free Digi Challenge.  It is another fun place to shop and play.

Well guys, one more post done.  I was hoping to get it done last night, but it just wasn't in the 'cards'! Hee, hee.  See you all very soon.  I am doing my best to catch up with the important things I am behind with (i.e. 12 Months of Christmas, Wonderful Wednesdays, etc.), and hope to be able to bring those things to you very soon!

Until next time,

Card Design: From the Heart Stamps March Challenge

http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/blog/
It is time to post my project for the March, From the Heart Stamps progressive stamp of the month challenge.  I've combined it with one of their sketch challenges, and boy not a minute too soon since the sketch link up expires in just a few short hours.

In order to enter the progressive challenge, you must either have received the latest image by having participated in the previous month or you can buy the stamp for the current month's challenge.  Everyone who enters and follows the rules is a winner because you automatically get the stamp for the next month's challenge.  Stop by the site and check out the rules for yourself.  While you are there, have a look around.  They have some really great images.  Below you will find the card I'm entering for the March challenge.

General Information:
  • This card was created digitally and then printed and assembled.
  • I use FTHS sketch no. 58 for the front of my card.
http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/2014/03/17/i-heart-card-sketches-w-a-twist-no-58/
FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • The image on the front, Hamlet Pigwit Think Spring, is available for purchase over at From the Heart Stamps.  Click HERE or on the watermarks below to go to its location in the store.
http://fromtheheartstamps.com/shop/pigwits/129-hamlet-pigwit-think-spring.html
  • It was coloured mostly with Copic markers; however, the sky is a pattern that was added digitally (courtesy Webtreats, Etc.) and the grass was added using a default brush in Photoshop Elements 12.
Other notes:
  • The butterfly was duplicated, coloured with Copics, fussy cut and then popped up to create the sense of dimension.

 INSIDE
Digital Sentiment:
  • This sentiment was a freebie I picked up over at Cuddly Buddly.  It is from Lily Boo Designs.  I paper pieced the banner with a digital paper (credits below) and filled in the posts with a digital wood pattern (courtesy Free PSD Files).  Grass was added with coloured pencils.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card base: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
Digital Papers:
  • All of the digital papers used to create this card are from the Thursday Break kit created by Correen Silke available at {Computer}Scrapbook.com.
Digital Embellishments:
  • I created the frame around the image (front) and sentiment (inside) using a shape from Shelby Kate Schmitz of graphicssoft.about.com.  It was adapted using layer style also from Shelby.
  • The swirl and brads on the front are from the Another Tea Party kit also created by Correen Silke and available at {Computer}Scrapbook.com.
Challenges I am hoping to enter:
Others I might get it into...

Thanks for popping by everyone!  I hope you enjoyed my card and post.  If I can pull it off, I've got another post I want to get completed tonight.  If I don't manage to get it done, hopefully I'll see you tomorrow.

Until next time,

Card Design: DS4J & Doodle Pantry Challenges for March

Oh my.  It really hasn't been a great week for me but I will just keep plugging through and do what I can to stay positive.  Unfortunately though, I'm getting farther and farther behind in things which is so NOT good.   To help speed things along slightly, I decided to combine this month's DigiStamps4Joy Progressive Christmas Challenge along with the challenge from Doodle Pantry.

First up for the front of my card we have DS4J...
    http://digistamps4joy-sa.blogspot.ca/2014/01/monthly-christmas-challenge-january-2014.html
Here is the image we get to use this month:

...and here is my card, I hope that I haven't forgotten any details:

    General Info:
    • I went pretty CAS for this card. It is also completely digital and then printed out and assembled.

    FRONT
Next up, for the inside of my card we have Doodle Pantry...

    http://doodlepantryblog.blogspot.ca/
Remember, Doodle Pantry challenges are unique.  If you use a Doodle Pantry image (not just a sentiment) then not only will your name be entered for a final prize coupon BUT you will also get the featured product for free.  That is pretty darn incredible!!!  Now of course, you are welcome to submit cards following the rules and theme using an image from any digital company but you will only be entered into the draw for the final prize coupon.

Check out the adorable featured product up for grabs in this month's challenge, for those who do enter using a Doodle Pantry image...

Another great set, suitable for lots of occasions!  The great thing with these challenges is that everyone is a winner AND unlike progressive challenges where if you miss a challenge you lose the opportunity to play in future ones, the challenge at Doodle Pantry is set so that ANYONE can enter at ANY time, and still have the opportunity to earn the freebie package (following the rules of course).

Here is the great kit I worked with for this month...

The image I used on the inside of the card is a precoloured image available in the Snowman Cheer set.  The background paper on the front and inside are also from the set.  Click HERE or also on the watermark to head to where it is available in the store.  It is currently still available for free.

Promotional Post: A Trip to the Tropics with Scribbles Designs

Hello everyone.  If you are like me, and live in a location that STILL has a ton of snow (in fact we just received another several centimetres just a couple days ago!), then you are hoping and praying for warmer weather soon.  I'm also sure that you would agree that a trip to the tropics would be an awesome idea right about now!  However, if your financial situation is anything like mine, a trip is out of the question.  So, let me bring the tropics to you with a collection of Sandy's beautiful tropical fish images!  There are so many types and patterns to choose from, you are sure to find something you like!

    Check them out...

Aren't all these images fabulous?! Think of the fun you could have playing with them!  Maybe your preference is to colour by hand, or possibly you prefer to paint digitally; or, perhaps you have a penchant for paper piecing.  It doesn't matter what your style is, these tropical delights would be suitable for all three.

Someone else wanted to say hi to you all today.  One of the many beloved Scribbles Designs characters has had the opportunity to do a little travelling herself to a warmer climate recently and wanted to share this 'picture' she had taken while in Hawaii.  Ahhhhhh...Hawaii...one of the locations on my own dream vacation list.  Anyways, I'll continue to dream of far away warm places on my own time, for now check out Lori in her fantastic grass skirt...
    http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2013/05/131-lori-aloha-300.html
    #131 Lori Aloha
Lori definitely had a fabulous time while on vacation.  She got right into the swing of things and had those hips a-shakin'.  Sandy loved this picture of Lori so much, she even made a couple of sentiments to go along with it.

    First up there is...
    http://buyscribblesdesigns.blogspot.ca/2013/05/052-you-had-me-at-aloha-150.html
#052 You Had Me At Aloha
    and another great one...

So, if you can't get to the tropics, bring the tropics home to you with one or more of these awesome images.  Clicking on any of the images should bring you to their location in the Scribbles Designs store.  If there is a glitch, you can head to the STORE and click on the label 'Tropical' for the fish and Starfish images and the label 'Lori' for the other three images.

So many digitals, so many possibilities!

Psst...interested in a new freebie or two?  Don't forget that each Friday, my fellow teammie Sam is hosting her own special post where she'll be sharing a free image with you all.  You can check out what she's posted for the latest Freebie Friday by clicking HERE.  And, as always, there is another freebie up for grabs over in our current challenge which we'd love for you to enter, if you haven't already.  This month we are paying homage to the much beloved frog of ours, Carl, so the focus is on all things amphibian.  Our Toad-ally Unfrogettable challenge just started this past Saturday so there is plenty of time to get in on all the fun.  You have until 9:00 p.m. PST on April 14th to enter.  You can find out all the details you need for participating and for grabbing the special freebie, by clicking HERE.  Also, don't forget to head back over to the challenge blog on Thursday when the winners for Challenge #14 will be announced.

Well guys, that is it for this one.  I hope you all have a fabulous day!

    Until next time!
