Card Design: Tuesday Alchemy Pastel Rainbow Monochromatic Challenge

Here are the card details.  I hope I haven't forgotten anything...

General Notes:

• We were tasked with the challenge of creating a primarily monochromatic card.  Each team member had to choose a different colour of the rainbow and mine was pink.
• Challenge was certainly the right word to use in the case of creating this card!  This was my first time creating a monochromatic card and with it having to be in the pastel pink range it certainly threw me for some loops.  I actually had to have a colleague help me figure out what was too dark that it no longer qualified as pastel anymore.  I realize that the very bottom of the pink ribbon might be a shade too dark but it is such a little amount that I think I can safely get away with it.
• It has been a long time since I've created a card without a digital image.  It was nice for a change. 

Digital Sentiments:

• Front:  Quote.
• Inside:  Mine.

Paper Products: 

• Card base: Michael's Recollection's white cardstock.
• Designer Papers:  Pink damask (front), pink dotted (shadow front and inside) and shimmery white shadow (front)--Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.  

Ribbon:

• Pink variegated ribbon--gold label from Michael's.

Embellishments:

• Hand cast--Jolie's from Michael's.
• Glittery pink brads--Recollection's from Michael's.
• White hearts (front) and pink hearts (inside)--from Dollarama.

Card Design: Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #51--Photo Inspiration

Today begins another fortnight challenge over at Tuesday Alchemy. 

This week for Challenge 51 the theme is Picture Inspiration and we have such a neat picture to spark your creativity for this challenge.  Just look at all those juicy colours you can play with.  This picture may also spur you on in the direction of incorporating metal into your piece or going with a vintage feel.  The possibilities are numerous.

General Notes:

• I've gone about working this digital a little differently than I usually do.  I decided to have some fun and get some practice in Photoshop Essentials.  Thus, I ended colouring up the image digitally.  Then I applied a different texture to both the teddy bear and the suitcases.  I've included a jpg of the image so that it is easier to see the textures I created.  They don't translate as well to photograph, at least the one on the suitcases doesn't.  If you'd like a better look at the texture, just click on the image for a better view.
• For the inside, I lassoed the teddy bear and then the upper suitcase, and then rearranged them on the page to create a different look.
• I realize that the image isn't grounded but once in awhile that is okay too.   Besides, I haven't learned how to add shadows yet in Photoshop Essentials but don't tell anyone.

Digital Images:

• Luggage and teddy:  The image on the front of the card and manipulated on the inside is from Pop 'n Stick.  Unfortunately, when I tried the link tonight to make sure it worked, there was a completely different blog up but with absolutely no posts.  The address I had was:  popnstick.blogspot.co.uk.  If anyone knows what happened to them or if they have a new address, I'd love to find out.  Very strange, in the last few weeks so many blogs are disappearing and I don't know if it is by accident or if people are getting out of the biz.

Card Design: Tuesday Alchemy Challenge #50

General Notes:

• The theme objective was to use hearts or something with wings.  While she may be little, this chicklet most definitely has wings.

Digital Images:

• Bunny:  The image on the front of the card is the most absolutely adorable image that I got to play with from San's Designs.  This is the image I showcased on Saturday in my Stamp of Approval Section.  I fell in love with this bunny the moment I saw her.  Those huge ears and even bigger floppy feet, those really unique flowers and especially that innocent look on her face all called out to my heart.  If you are interested in purchasing this image of the Flower Bunny, it is available HERE.  It was mostly coloured using Copic markers.  Bunny: C1, C3, C5 (fur); R20, R22, R24 (ears).  Bow:  Y11, Y13, Y15.  Flowers:  BG10, BG15, NG18.  Stones and Groundwork:  W1, W3, W5, W7.  Sky:  Watercolour pencils.
• Chick and Easter Egg:  This little cutey pie is one of Sandy's images from Scribbles Designs.  It is called Hatch Chicklet and you can purchase it at the Scribbles Designs Store.  Click HERE for a direct link to the image.  It was mostly coloured using Copic markers.   Chick:  Y11, Y13, Y15 (body); R20 (cheeks).  Egg:  B00, G00, R00, BV00.  Grass:  G00, G02, G05.  Sky:  Watercolour pencils.

Digital Sentiments:

• Front:  The beautiful sentiment on the front is Digi Darla's You'll Always Be The Man I Love.  Clicking on the name will take you straight to its link in the store.  The little decorations on the corners were coloured in with watercolour pencils.
• Inside:  One I created.
