Card Design: Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge…March

http://gerdasteinerdesigns.com

Hello there! It is time to get my progressive card for the Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge uploaded. Before I start I just want to give an apology to my followers and friends as I have not had the time to create a St. Patrick's Day freebie. Sadly, nor will I have the time to do an Easter one. My life has sort of imploded and I'm dealing with a chaotic mess in my personal life. As such my time on the computer has been cut back considerably each day. I hope that you guys understand. As it is, I'm desperate just to try and fulfil all my challenge commitments and of course getting my progressive challenge cards done too. Thankfully, I managed to get this month's project for Gerda completed on time.

Check out the adorable image that we got to work with this month...

Cat in Bookshelf Digital Stamp

Everyone who played along in last month's challenge received Cat in Bookshelf for free. If you decide to hop on and play along in the Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge, then you can purchase this digital by clicking HERE (or on the watermark above to head to its location in the store). This way you'll receive next month's digital stamp for free.

Here is my project and related details...

General Info:
  • This bookmark has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop). I will print it out and assemble it a later date.
  • This is the perfect image to make a bookmark. My current one has almost fallen apart and it will also make a great Mother's Day gift as well, if I could only get it printed and sent on time...sigh...

Purchase any of the above sets and you'll receive the Ice Cream Sentiments set for FREE!

Even Kris' daughter Carly is getting in on the new release action with this cute set.
Ice Cream Maddy is part of the Carly's CutiesTM line.

There is also a great new set of matching papers!

Just click on any of the names above the watermarks to find their location in the store.

General Info:
  • I thought it would be fun to create another magnetic bookmark!  I don't know about you but my bookmarks have a tendency to fall out.  Magnetic bookmarks are great for ensuring that your book page stays marked.
  • Now, while it took some thinking figuring out how I was going to make ice cream and reading go together, I think I pulled it off.

FRONT of BOOKMARK
Digital Image Details:
  • I've used images from the Ice Cream Treats set. This set is a real sweet treat!  Not only are there ready made treats and cones but there is also a 'build a cone' section featuring various tops and bottoms.  It even has a sprinkle overlay and a cherry for on top!
  • As usual, I've chosen to work with the coloured version for this project.  I used the square bottom cone, the 'strawberry' ice cream, and the sprinkles. Just click on the name above the Ice Cream Treats watermark shown in the top section, to find the location of this set in the store.
  • I've also used a public domain image for my strawberry on top of the cone.  This image was contributed to Pixabay by Nemo.
Digital Sentiment:
  • One I came up with.  You know me, I love a play on words.  I layered the sentiment on top of the cone and then used a layer style courtesy of Heather Green, HG Graphic Designs, on the word 'berry'.  It is a bit hard to see in the picture but the layer style actually has strawberries and blueberries in it.  I thought that was rather appropriate!

INSIDE of BOOKMARK
Digital Sentiment:
  • The word 'enjoy' has also been altered with that same layer style mentioned above.  Since this word is a bit bigger, it is easier to see the actual berries.

OVERALL
Paper Products:
  • Card, image and sentiment bases: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
Digital Paper Products:
  • I've used a paper from the brand new Ice Cream Parlour set showcased above, as an accent in behind the image. Just click on the same name in the top section, to find the location of this set in the store.
  • I've also used a paper from the Blossoms and Bugs set for the background of my bookmark.  Click on the watermark below, to find the location of this set in the store.

http://nicecranedesigns.com/

Hello to you all again on this fine Friday.  Thankfully, I've managed to put together another creation this month for Nicecrane Designs featuring a couple of beautiful vintage images from the Ella Du Cane Bookmarks collection.

Here are my bookmark and the details...

General Information:

  • While these bookmarks come with a coloured version for the front and a sort of sepia tone for the back, I've decided to use only the coloured portion and allow my textured paper to serve as a plain background.

Bookmark Design: Beatrix Potter from Nicecrane Designs

http://nicecranedesigns.com/
Hello!  I hope that you all have had a good week thus far.

Today I am posting a couple of bookmarks that I made using designs from Nicecrane Designs I thought that they'd make a cute gift accompanied by a stuffed animal or even a Beatrix Potter book itself.

I decided that given the sadness of the last couple weeks with the loss of my mother in law, that I was due for some silliness; so, I photographed each of the bookmarks with some friends of mine.

BOOKMARK 1
General Notes:
  • Meet Valentine.  He recently had a bath so he is nice and clean.  He was a gift that my hubby gave me for our very first Valentine's Day as a married couple which means Valentine will be 25 years old on the fourteenth of February.  He still has a very special place in my heart.
  • I figured I better show you a closer picture of the bookmark as well...
BOOKMARK 2
General Notes:
  • Meet Quack.  He was a gift from my parents when I was a teenager.  Goodness, he is even older than Valentine.  I don't remember specifically when I got him but I'm going to guess that I was about fifteen.
  • Here is a closer picture of this one as well...
Digital Image Details:
  • Beatrix Potter Bookmarks:  Both of these bookmarks were created with templates from the Beatrix Potter Bookmark set.  For this first one, I used the image you see second in from the right of the preview below.  The second bookmark was created using the last one on the right.  Click on the name or the watermark below to take you to its location in the store.

Bookmark Design: Scribbles Designs Challenge #20 Midway Point

It is the first of September.  My goodness, summer is almost officially over with just a few short weeks left in the season!  Where has this past eight months gone?!!!

Today also marks the midway of the latest Scribbles Designs Challenge.

There are two whole weeks left for you to come on over and enter. In case you've missed it, the theme this month for
Challenge #20, is Animal Planet Rabbits, cats and foxes, oh my!  Our world wouldn't be the same without all the wonderful species of animals in it and many of our lives wouldn't be the same without our pets keeping us company.  This month we want to see an animal on your creation.  Whether wild or domestic it doesn't matter; as long as it has fur, feathers, or fins, it qualifies.   So, take a walk on the wild side and show us what you've got.

Entering is super simple!  You do not need to use a Scribbles Designs image; however, if you do, your name gets entered into the draw twice.  You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE or you can also find one for a limited time on the challenge blog HEREAlso, be sure to check out our special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.  You can find the rest of the rules and information regarding winners in the sidebar on the challenge blog.  You have until 9pm PST on September 14th to come over and play with us.

For this card, I've decided to use the freebie that Sandy offered up at the start of the Animal Planet challenge.  You can find it HERE.  It was time to make another magnetic bookmark, this time for the hubs and this sweet little worm on a hook was the perfect inspiration!
