Freebie Alert: A Special Anniversary Celebration

Today marks another very special day in the Décosse household. Exactly 30 years ago today, I walked down the aisle and met the love of my life at the alter. There, we exchanged vows and pledged to love each other for always. Our life together hasn't always been easy. In fact, it seems that there have been more downs than ups some years. However, through it all, we haven't wavered in our commitment to each other.

Unfortunately, it is the end of tax season up here in Canada and since my hubby is a Tax Professional he is hard at work until around 9:00 p.m. tonight. Thus, we are not going to get to spend too much time together today. Hopefully though, we'll be able to go out and celebrate this coming weekend instead.

So given that I won't be able to spend time with my hubs until later this evening, I spent this afternoon creating a digital paper to share with you all in honour of this special occasion! Of course, now I am behind in six other important things on my 'to do' list but I neglected you all so bad last year, I'm trying hard to make it up this year!

Below is a preview of what the paper looks like…

I thought this symbol of two intertwined hearts was the perfect symbol for a paper honouring our anniversary! This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Vectorious (purchased through Inky Deals) and Marisa Lerin (Pixel Scrapper). To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

That is it for today but I'll be back on Friday with my post for the latest challenge over at Pattie's Creations.

Until that time,

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Happy Valentine's Day to all my wonderful readers.  I hope that each of you spends the day with someone you love.  Doesn't matter whether it is your mate, your child, a parent, a friend or even your pet.  Today, as all days, should be spent in the company of the people that make you feel loved.

As a token of my affection for all of my dedicated followers, readers and of course the many friendships I have developed in blogland, here are three papers that I have created in honour of this day of love!  Everyone should get presents on Valentine's Day!

As usual, each paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels (i.e. 12 inches) and published at 300 dpi.  Credit information for these papers can be found in the credit note below.  Now I realize that they all look almost identical but they are each a little different.  The first one is simply the hearts with no effects.  The next two have different effects applied to them.  If you left click to bring them up into the lightbox you'll be able to see the variation better.

Well guys, the hubs has just come home from work and since it is Valentine's Day I need to get off of the computer and spend some nice quality time with him.  I hope you all have a lovely evening.  I'll be back tomorrow with my Scribbles Designs Challenge start post so I'll see you all then.

 Until next time,

Card Design: Digi Darla's Challenge #101--Be My Valentine Copy Cat

If you are looking for the Fresh Brewed Designs Blog Hop, please click HERE or scroll down to the very next post.
____________________________________________________________
It is time for the latest challenge over at the Digi Darla's Challenges Blog. This week for Challenge #101 the theme is "Be My Valentine Copycat".

Yes that is right, it is time for the monthly copycat challenge and you know what that means--there is a free image waiting for you over on the challenge blog to use in this week's entry.  This image is perfect for any last minute Valentine's Day project you need to create.

Here is a little project to inspire you.  I hope I haven't forgotten any details...

General Comments:

  • I've gone 100% digital in this creation.  While right now it remains a digital layout, I could easily turn it into a card if I want to.
Digital Image:
  • Valentine's Day Collage:  As mentioned above, the image used this week is the copycat image so you can find it over on the challenge blog.
Digital Papers:
  • Once again I have relied on my wonderful new digital paper pack created by Kris B. from Imagine That Digis.  Along with three of the papers I showcased in my card earlier this morning, I also added her pretty hearts on a string paper.  Isn't it adorable?  I'd love to know how she shaded in those hearts.  Hmmmm....Anyways, as mentioned in my earlier post, all of these awesome papers are from her digital paper pack called "Ticket to Bliss".  In just two creations, I've used a total of five of the papers in this pack.  I can't wait to play with some of the other. To purchase this particular paper pack, click on the watermark you see below.

Challenges I am hoping to enter.  From what I've read in the rules, there is nothing preventing 100% digital creations at each of these locations...
So, how about you come on over and show us YOUR wonderful talents by entering in our current challenge this week over at Digi Darla's Challenges?  While you are there please check out the great projects from the rest of the design team.  We always look forward to seeing the delightful creations you come up with.

Until next time,

Wonderful Wednesdays: Marvelous Masks for February

If you are new to my blog and would like to know how Wonderful Wednesdays got started, please click HERE.

Here is the next entry into the February Kit.  It is time for a marvelous mask and this one is so unique in its shaping.  I created it in Photoshop Essentials using a template.  It is 3600 x 3600 pixels but can always be made smaller if you want to pair it with some paper.  I've opted to go with a blue pink combination.  That way it can be used with the paper I provided last week but can also be matched up with other colour choices. Here you go...

Now you have three items for your February kit.  I'd love to see what you come up with if you use it.  Next week we'll be continuing on with the theme of love, however as to what it is exactly, you'll just have to come back next week and see

Until next time,

Nail Design: Have A Heart

I realize it has been awhile since I posted a nail design but there is a good reason.

Just when I thought it was time to create a new design to honour the season of love, I lost the same comrade as the last time in a housekeeping accident.  I knew I hated housework for a reason.  While she wasn't lopped off at the head like she was previously, she has suffered a moderate concussion.  Once the comrades fall, it's like they all become that much more accident prone.  If you'd like a reference to what the heck I'm talking about, please refer to the post, "A Comrade Has Fallen" (click HERE to go to it--but please come back).  I can't believe it has taken almost three months for my 'comrades' to grow back to design length and then I lose one again.  Ah, the nail tragedy continues...

So, for now I'll post a design from my gallery over at Cool Nails Art that I created last year almost a year to the day.

And for a closer look at the design...

This design is based on a 'You Tube' design that I can't seem to locate to give proper credit.
  • Apply a base coat to protect the nails.
  • Add a red base. Apply minimum two coats for solid coverage.
  • Create a white French tip.
  • Add a white heart on the red just below the white tip.
  • Add white dots down the outer side of the nail and red dots across the top.
  • Finish off with a good top coat to protect your design.
There you go, a nice simple design to celebrate the season of love.

Until next time,

Wonderful Wednesday: Paper Play for February

If you are new to my blog and would like to know how Wonderful Wednesdays got started, please click HERE.

The Digital Design Diva (a.k.a. my inspiration fairy) has been influence by all the love she is seeing around her.  Hearts here, hearts there, hearts everywhere!  Especially with it being the day before Valentine's Day.  So, you guessed it, with hearts on the brain, this weeks she I am offering up a traditional Valentine's themed paper for the February Kit.

It is 3600 x 3600 pixels (really it is the correct size for a change) and in jpg format.  I created it in Photoshop Essentials (yeah me!) using a template.  I've chosen softer colours this time at the request of a follower. Here you go...

Now you have two items for your February kit.  I'd love to see what you come up with if you use it.  What is up for next week?  Well, I'm not telling so you'll just have to come back and see for yourself

Until next time,

Note: I apologize if there are any formatting issues.  This is a scheduled post and we all know Blogger has a mind of it's own.  If it turns out that something looks wonky, I'll fix it as soon as I'm able to.
