Card Design: 12MoC Ch. #7...Opt. Theme--Ornament Exchange

http://12monthsofchristmaslinkup.blogspot.ca/
Hello!  It is time for the July challenge and link up to begin over at The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.  We had another great showing in May and Monica and I hope that you'll continue to spread the word about our Link Up so it can reach more people.  I find it interesting that we have fewer entries each month this year with sponsor's prizes than I did when I ran the link up over here.  Hmmmmm...... I will have to ponder that one!

Don't forget that this link up is basically two-fold.  First of all, you are still going to have the opportunity to link up any number of Christmas and December holiday themed cards throughout the month with an anything goes theme. At the end of each month, every person who has linked up a MINIMUM of two (2) Christmas or holiday themed cards will be eligible to receive a specially designed Christmas themed digital paper created by moi. That means that if you submit two cards each month, by the time that the year is done, you will have received 12 free digital papers, all for the low cost of linking up cards you need to create anyway. You do not need to use the digital paper you receive each month in your cards in order to get the next paper. They are strictly meant as incentive to participate.

While team members had the option of working with any of my Décosse's Dynamite Doodles papers, I did create a special set called  It's Ornamental, based on the theme for this challenge. Check out the preview...

Everyone who links up a minimum of two cards during the month of July will earn ONE of the digital papers from this set.  The specific paper up for grabs will be shown during the winner announcement post.  If you would like to have a say in determining which paper will be offered, you can answer the poll we've set up in the sidebar on the top right hand side of The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up blog.

The second part of the challenge provides even more incentive to play. Each month there will be an OPTIONAL theme to follow. This month the optional theme is Holiday Traditions Ornament Exchange.  In order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month, make sure that there is a Christmas ornament featured prominently somewhere on your card. Whether it is part of your image, part of your paper or just an embellishment, it is up to you.  You can find more details over on the Challenge #7 post. You can find that post and the link up by clicking HERE.

Also, be sure to check out all the rules and details on the Challenge Details Page. We have provided examples of a few different scenarios to help explain things and make them a bit clearer, in case there is any confusion.

This month our wonderful guest sponsor is
Robyn’sFetish Digital Stamps...

$10 Store Voucher

So please head on over to
and join in all the challenge fun!

Here is the front of my card...

 Here is the inside...
Here are the card details, I hope I haven't forgotten anything...

  • Digi-Image:  The image on the front of the card is the most absolutely adorable image that I got to play with from one of our sponsors, Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps.  It was coloured using Copic markers.  Cats:  C1, C3, C5, C7 (fur); R20, R22, R24 (ears and foot pads); B00 (eyes).  BowR22, R24, R29.  Grounding around monsiour et madame meow-meow:  B00.
  • Sentiments:  The 'purr-cuddle-play' sentiment on the front of the card underneath the cats is from Pink Cat Studio. It was a freebie I got awhile back.  The site has been completely revamped and it looks like those freebies are no longer available.  The 'no one is purrfect' on the front and the inside sentiment are created by me.  Both are printed onto Recollection's Cardstock White Paper.
  • Paper:  I used a black paper for the card base purchased at Michael's--Recollection's CardstockThe red cross hatch paper is from the Recollection's Bright and Basic paper pad.  The black hearts on white paper is from the Recollection's All Girl paper pad.  The black paper used as a shadow is from the same pad mentioned above.
  • Embellishments:  The glittery hearts and heart brads on the front, and the felt hearts inside are from Dollarama.
  • One of the challenges I've entered requires using a die cut.  The black shadow circle in behind the image is a die cut using Cricut's George Basic Shapes cartridge.
  • I used a sketch from Studio Cappucino for this card:

Challenges I will be entering the card into:
Some more challenges may be added to this list throughout the week or month.

I apologize if there are any formatting issues.  This is a scheduled post and we all know Blogger has a mind of it's own.  If it turns out that something looks wonky, I'll fix it as soon as I'm able to.

Thanks so much for stopping by and please leave some love if you have the time.  As I've now added to my comment section,
thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog and to write me a little note. Whether you are a regular, here for the first time or popping over in your official capacity as a DT member, please know how much I appreciate the words that you leave behind. Your encouragement helps me to become a better designer.   I try my best to reply to your comments (when an email address is available) but that is getting more and more difficult as my plate fills up with new responsibilites, new roles, and new obligations.  If I don't get the opportunity to thank you personally, know that I don't take a single comment for granted. Thank you for your understanding.

Until next time,
