Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #157…Flowers

http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.ca

Hello folks! I'm here today to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge. This time around for Challenge #157, the theme is Flowers. Spring is officially here and hopefully that means that the snow will be gone soon and we'll start seeing lots of green and then other beautiful colours as the flowers start their new cycle. In anticipation of that event, it is a great time to make a card with some flowers on it.

General Project Info:
  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop). I will print it out and assemble it a later date.
  • I had a lot of fun with this card but it took me a long time to finish. There was a lot of delicate paper piecing involved and layering to get the effect on each of the pieces of the fairy outfit I wanted, which meant adding layer masks and doing a lot of precision work. Unfortunately though, all the glitter and sparkle on the hanging fairy outfit pieces seems to be lost when the image is shown this small. Hopefully it will be more noticeable when I print it out. Even though you can't really see the effects I am talking about, I think it was still worth the work.

FRONT

Digital Images Details:
  • Fairy Clothesline can be found in Pattie's Etsy shop. I saw this image in the store and just had to use it. So adorable and can be used for a lot of reasons making it a great versatile image!
  • This image was coloured in digitally using digital colouring and 'paper piecing'. Credits include:
    • The image used to digitally 'paper piece' the wooden posts is from Blessed Print
    • The image used to digitally 'paper piece' the rope is from Eva-Katerina
    • For the fairy wings I have used a texture from Julia Dreams as the base, then overlayed it with a digi paper texture from Studio Denmark, then finally screened some 'fairy dust' from 2 Little Owls
    • For the middle image on the clothes line I have used a texture from Julia Dreams as the base, then screened a different 'fairy dust' texture from 2 Little Owls
    • For the far right image on the clothes line I have used an image from Amanda Ilkov as the base, then screened a third coloured 'fairy dust' texture from 2 Little Owls
    • The grass is a couple of different images courtesy of Textures 4 Photoshop
    • The sky and cloud background is one I created with my Rebelle program

Digital Embellishments:
  • The butterflies used as accents are from MyStocks.
  • I have created a frame of flowers using an image from Mikibith Art.

INSIDE

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • The sentiment used on the inside is from the Cupcake Fairy set from Imagine That Digistamp (appears to no longer be available in the store). I have recoloured it to suit the purposes of this project.

OVERALL
Digital Paper Products:
  • The purple glitter paper used for the background is from my Glitteratti Set 1.

The 12 Days of Christmas Quest: Day Two

Happy Boxing Day!!!

It is the second day of Christmas and it is time to continue the quest. If you missed day one click HERE to start from the beginning and read all the details.

As a quick refresher, each day during the 12 Days of Christmas (Dec. 25th to Jan. 5th), you're going to be given a task to follow. I'll be sending you on a quest to visit the stores or blogs of designers that I love in order to create specific Wish Lists that I want you to share with me. You will be able to leave your daily Wish List in a comment on the post for each respective day. If you follow the instructions for each day, you'll earn a free digital paper.

To make it fair for everyone, I will have comment moderation on and won't be publishing any comments for The 12 Days of Christmas until the quest is over.

Since this is a busy time of year for most people, you will have plenty of time to complete the quest. It is completely up to you as to when you submit your answers (daily, all at once at the end, or otherwise). AS LONG AS ALL your Wish Lists are submitted, no later than January 12th, 2019, then you will qualify to receive the paper(s) for whichever day(s) you participate.

Here is the paper up for grabs today...

This paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. Credits include: Olga Belova (Creative Fabrica), Blixa-6-Studios (Design Cuts) and Sheila Reid (Pixel Scrapper). In the zip folder that will be emailed should you successfully complete the quest, you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Play along each of the 12 days and you'll earn yourself the full set! So, how about we get started with today's clue!!!

On the second day of Christmas,
it is time to earn paper number two.
So, follow the steps, leave me your answer,
and I'll get the next paper off to you!!!

Task:
Head on over to the Christmas & Winter section of the Imagine That Digistamp store and let me know THREE sets with a CAT AND/OR a DOG as part of the design that you want to add to your Wish List. Hint: Clicking the links provided above or below will take you to the correct section in the store. You can move through the pages in the section by clicking on the numbers in the lower right corner. There are a total of three pages if you need to find more sets.

Click HERE to head there now!

When you come up with a response for today's task, simply leave your Wish List in a comment on THIS POST. Now for many of you, especially those who have played in previous years, the odds are that I should have your e-mail address in order to send out the free paper you earn. If you are new to the quest or are not sure whether I might have your email address, please be sure to also leave your email address in your comment. If you would prefer to keep your address private, then check out the bottom paragraph from Day 1 for how to send it to me.

Hope this Boxing Day finds you happy and healthy! See you all tomorrow for day number three!!!

Cheers!

Fancy Fold Blog Hop with Imagine That Digistamp

ITD's Creative Playground

Hello Folks!!  Today we are doing something a wee bit different over on the Imagine That Digistamp blog. Normally on this day every week we have a special Thursday Inspiration post. This week however, we would like to invite you to join in a special blog hop for some "Fancy Fold" inspiration using items from Imagine That Digistamp!
