Freebie Alert: A Special Anniversary Celebration

Today marks another very special day in the Décosse household. Exactly 30 years ago today, I walked down the aisle and met the love of my life at the alter. There, we exchanged vows and pledged to love each other for always. Our life together hasn't always been easy. In fact, it seems that there have been more downs than ups some years. However, through it all, we haven't wavered in our commitment to each other.

Unfortunately, it is the end of tax season up here in Canada and since my hubby is a Tax Professional he is hard at work until around 9:00 p.m. tonight. Thus, we are not going to get to spend too much time together today. Hopefully though, we'll be able to go out and celebrate this coming weekend instead.

So given that I won't be able to spend time with my hubs until later this evening, I spent this afternoon creating a digital paper to share with you all in honour of this special occasion! Of course, now I am behind in six other important things on my 'to do' list but I neglected you all so bad last year, I'm trying hard to make it up this year!

Below is a preview of what the paper looks like…

I thought this symbol of two intertwined hearts was the perfect symbol for a paper honouring our anniversary! This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Vectorious (purchased through Inky Deals) and Marisa Lerin (Pixel Scrapper). To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

That is it for today but I'll be back on Friday with my post for the latest challenge over at Pattie's Creations.

Until that time,

Double Freebie Alert: Happy Birthday to Me & My Hubs!

Hey folks! I'm guessing you didn't think I'd be back with another freebie so quickly, did you?! Not only was it Easter weekend, it was also my birthday on Good Friday AND is my hubby's birthday today, Easter Monday.

As you have learned by now, special occasions for me and my family members, mean presents for YOU too! It was a packed weekend so I wasn't able to get out the first freebie on my own birthday like I normally try and do. Instead, today you'll be getting both freebies--one in honour of my birthday and the other in honour of my hubby's special day. Without this man by my side I'd be lost. He is my entire world and I love him dearly. Thus, I want to take this opportunity to wish my amazing hubby a very happy birthday!!!!

I really liked the foil paper I made for the 12 Days of Christmas and got some good feedback on it. I've seen it printed out on a card and it looks pretty realistic. That is why I decided to make a matching set of foil papers for today's double freebie--one in purple and the other in green.

Check them out...

These digital papers are 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. To grab them, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the two papers, their preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

One or the other of these textured papers will go really well with the following free birthday papers offered up in the past. If you don't have them yet, just click on any of the previews below to be taken to the original page on my blog where each can still be downloaded for free!

Well that is it for today! I hope to see you all again soon.

Until next time,

Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #157…Flowers

http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.ca

Hello folks! I'm here today to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge. This time around for Challenge #157, the theme is Flowers. Spring is officially here and hopefully that means that the snow will be gone soon and we'll start seeing lots of green and then other beautiful colours as the flowers start their new cycle. In anticipation of that event, it is a great time to make a card with some flowers on it.

General Project Info:
  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop). I will print it out and assemble it a later date.
  • I had a lot of fun with this card but it took me a long time to finish. There was a lot of delicate paper piecing involved and layering to get the effect on each of the pieces of the fairy outfit I wanted, which meant adding layer masks and doing a lot of precision work. Unfortunately though, all the glitter and sparkle on the hanging fairy outfit pieces seems to be lost when the image is shown this small. Hopefully it will be more noticeable when I print it out. Even though you can't really see the effects I am talking about, I think it was still worth the work.

FRONT

Digital Images Details:
  • Fairy Clothesline can be found in Pattie's Etsy shop. I saw this image in the store and just had to use it. So adorable and can be used for a lot of reasons making it a great versatile image!
  • This image was coloured in digitally using digital colouring and 'paper piecing'. Credits include:
    • The image used to digitally 'paper piece' the wooden posts is from Blessed Print
    • The image used to digitally 'paper piece' the rope is from Eva-Katerina
    • For the fairy wings I have used a texture from Julia Dreams as the base, then overlayed it with a digi paper texture from Studio Denmark, then finally screened some 'fairy dust' from 2 Little Owls
    • For the middle image on the clothes line I have used a texture from Julia Dreams as the base, then screened a different 'fairy dust' texture from 2 Little Owls
    • For the far right image on the clothes line I have used an image from Amanda Ilkov as the base, then screened a third coloured 'fairy dust' texture from 2 Little Owls
    • The grass is a couple of different images courtesy of Textures 4 Photoshop
    • The sky and cloud background is one I created with my Rebelle program

Digital Embellishments:
  • The butterflies used as accents are from MyStocks.
  • I have created a frame of flowers using an image from Mikibith Art.

INSIDE

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • The sentiment used on the inside is from the Cupcake Fairy set from Imagine That Digistamp (appears to no longer be available in the store). I have recoloured it to suit the purposes of this project.

OVERALL
Digital Paper Products:
  • The purple glitter paper used for the background is from my Glitteratti Set 1.

Digital Embellishment Details:
  • I have used basic shapes in Photoshop Elements to create matting in behind the sentiment.
  • I have applied shadow layer styles to give certain elements some depth. These styles were designed by Sheila Reid, Pixel Scrapper.

Challenges I am hoping to enter...

You have until May 2nd to enter our challenge which should give you lots of time to get a creation done. Remember the theme is Flowers. I really hope that you will be able to join us.
