I've Been Published: TTCRD Featured Artist... July/August Issue

Woop!  Woop!  Yes, you've read that correctly.  I have been published and I'm so excited to tell you all about it!!!

For the last week I have been hinting at some good news that I wanted to share with all of you and the time is finally here. Back in May, Cara Malmrose, the owner and publisher of the on-line crafting magazine and challenge blog, Through The Craftroom Door, approached me and asked me if I would like to be the featured artist in their July/August issue. I was so honoured by her request, how could I possibly say no!

Well that edition is finally available to subscribers. If you are not currently a subscriber and interested in obtaining a subscription, the cost for the first subscription year is $18.00. This gives you access to two years of back issues containing tutorials, articles, digi images and more! Simply click HERE to be taken to the website where you will see payment instructions.

Check out the cover.  Yup!  That is little 'ole me....

This particular issue has well over a dozen tutorials and articles for your crafting pleasure. Hopefully there is a little bit of something for everyone.  In addition to the articles, tutorials and other inspiration between the pages, there are also a couple of special giveaways specifically for a couple of lucky Subscribers which will be drawn at the end of July (winners will be notified via email). The first prize is a water color palette created by TTCRD Design Team Member Alessandra, and the second prize is from me and I'll talk about it in just a bit.

If you happen to enjoy tutorials, and crafting articles and like to seek out inspiration, learn about digital artists out there in our crafting community AND like to get freebies, then you should really consider purchasing a subscription to the Through The Craftroom Door Magazine.  On top of all of that, there is a special challenge each issue for members for a chance to win a $10 Amazon gift card. As mentioned above, if you are a first time subscriber, the cost is $18.00 for the 1st year which gives you access to two years of back issues and images. Then you pay just $12.00 per renewal (six issues per subscription year), each year afterwards.  To subscribe, you simply need to be a member of Through the Craftroom Door (membership is free), as this give you access to the subscriber tab which will allow you to pay via PayPal. Cara has been working hard to add items of interest for magazine readers and welcomes suggestions. They have also added different challenges offered in each magazine, added a kid friendly craft tutorial and even have a "Pay it Forward" article whenever possible.

I have been a fan and supporter of the Through the Craftroom Door Challenge Blog for awhile now.  However, it was only when Cara came on board that I started to sponsor challenges as well.  I'm pleased to announce that Cara will be celebrating her 2nd year as owner come this November which will be celebrated with a month long blog hop (as it was last year). Details are in the works and will be shared as we get closer to the anniversary date. In terms of the challenge blog itself, Sandra van Blaricum, the Site Administrator, does an outstanding job bringing in an array of talented people to be a part of the TTCRD Design Team and Deonna Bemish, the Sponsor Coordinator, works hard to line up an amazing bunch of sponsors for the weekly challenges! In addition to having a weekly winner, TTCRD has also added Top 3 picks from the Design Team. Projects who receive a Top 3 honour are all published in the magazine and earn a chance to win another prize.

I encourage you to go and check out Through the Craftroom Door if you haven't already.  The website address is http://craftrmdoor.ning.com/. For more information regarding submissions to the magazine, one can access the challenge blog at http://ttcrd.blogspot.com/ and click on the tab "Magazine Submission Guidelines".  Of course, you can click that same link to check out their weekly challenges.  For more information or to talk with Cara privately one can email her directly at TTCRDMag@gmail.com.

Now when Cara asked me to be the featured artist, among the general details that I had to provide for the article, she also asked that I provide two to three freebies. Here are preview images of the digital paper freebies that subscribers will receive in the July/August edition of the TTCRD magazine...

Cara also asked that I provide samples from my design team using these items.  Now of course, I don't have a design team for my personal designs yet so this request was a bit tricky.  However, what I do have is a great group of talented ladies that I know from my work with other challenge blogs and every single person that I asked to help me out, came through for me in a big way!

To thank these amazing ladies for helping me out, instead of just offering up the three papers you see above, I decided to make a whole kit for them.  With summer coming up it was the perfect time to introduce a summer set to my collection! Here is a peek into my new A Taste of Summer Kit...

So even if you aren't a subscriber to the magazine, you're still going to get to see the FABULOUSLY AWESOME creations that these ladies made using items from this kit as I'm excited to tell you all that we're going to be doing a blog hop to celebrate my featured artist spot and this new digital kit.

I hope that you will join us starting Tuesday, July 5th at 12:01 EDT! I will be offering at least one freebie to start off with plus blog hop participants will have the opportunity to win the full kit; PLUS each section of the kit will be offered up as a random prize on each stop along the hop route! To top it all off, Cara has also generously offered up a 1 year subscription to the TTCRD Magazine for one lucky blog hop participant! The hop will end at 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 8th, which should give you lots of time to join in. If you don't get the chance to join the hop, a copy of the kit will be offered to one random subscriber of the magazine AND I'm also offering it up to one lucky random follower over on the TTCRD Challenge blog. Winners of both these prizes will be announced on July 30, 2016 over at TTCRD.

So please mark your calendars and get ready to enjoy A Taste of Summer coming in just two days!

I hope to be back tomorrow with a freebie in honour of Independence Day and also a couple more sponsorship announcements!

Until then,

Blog Hop: Summer Fun with TLC Creations

Hello everyone! It is officially summer in the northern hemisphere. During the hot summer months there is nothing better than dipping ones' toes in the water. I've been fortunate enough to dip my toes in the actual ocean a few times. However, it hasn't happened often since I live in the middle of the country, thousands of kilometres from the nearest coast. Now, even if I can't get to the ocean I can still dream of it and the fun of summer and today's blog hop will help. It will also help you to build up your TLC collection as well!

Many of us on the Create with TLC Design Team will be hosting a spot during the blog hop. All of us will share a creation that we have made using at least one if not more of Paulette's elements and just YOUR luck, the image that we all use will be available for free download on each blog hop stop along the way! You'll also be able to pick up a free word art creation at Paulette's blog.

You should have arrived here from the talented Ileana's blog. If you are just starting, you can find a full list of all the hop stops at the bottom of this post.
