Freebie Alert & Card Linky Party: Happy 50th Birthday to Me!

Hello folks. Today is a big milestone for me as I turned 50 at exactly 2:28 p.m. this afternoon. I had wanted to do something really big and special on my blog this year in honour of this astounding occasion but unfortunately, having had to spend so much time tending to my hubs during his recent illness and then having to deal with getting sick myself and taking so long to recover, I haven't had the time to come up with a big plan. In fact I'm still rather far behind and still trying to catch up with all my behind the scenes duties! However, I couldn't let the day go by without at least a little something so I have decided on this.

I am going to have a link party. Link up any BIRTHDAY themed card during the next month for your chance to win any ONE of the following:
  • Naturally Cool Collection
  • Living on the Edge collection
  • Celebration Mini Kit + Heartland Mini Kit
  • Flower Power Kit
  • Holiday Hoopla Kit
  • Beauty of Butterflies Kit
  • Floral Cats Kit
OR you can choose from the smaller paper kits (not part of a larger bundle) that either have 12 papers or six papers in them for a total of 30 papers: i.e., two sets of 12 + one set of six; OR, one set of 12 + three sets of six; OR five sets of six. Most of these smaller sets are Christmas related though there are some that are spring, rainbows, weather related, textures, glitters, etc.

OR if you'd prefer, you can choose from six different sentiment sets (those listed at the bottom of my 'Design Previews' page, not those that are part of a larger kit).

Plus, depending on the number of entries linked up, I may have additional prizes.

If you would like to check and see what these sets look like you can find all of them on the 'Design Previews' page of my blog which can be found HERE or by clicking on the same named tab at the top of my blog.

Now of course, I can't let the day go by without a gift to you all. Those of you who've been with me for a while know that special occasions for me and my family members, mean presents for YOU! So today I bring you this digital paper...

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Sheila Reid (Pixel Scrapper) and Eva-Katerina (Deal Jumbo). To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Linky Party Rules

The rules are pretty simple, just like you'd see at any other challenge or link up:
  • Enter using the Link up at the bottom of this post.
  • Entries must be Birthday themed but they can be any type of project you'd like (scrapbooking, digital, card, tag, mixed media, etc.)
  • You can use any image from any company.
  • Entries are limited to a total of three.
  • No back linking. New creations only.
  • Please list my blog in your post just like you'd normally list any challenge you entered.
  • You must link directly to your post with your entry NOT to your whole blog.
  • I reserve the right to remove or disqualify any entry that does not meet the concept of this link up or the rules.

***Bonus Entry***

You can earn a bonus entry by doing the following:
  • If you use the above digi paper, or ANY other of my designs (paper, sentiment, embellishments, etc.), you will earn TWO entries for the prize. Be sure to add DDD after your name if you have used one of my designs. I have so many of them out there, I may not automatically recognize my work on your creation.

Well that should about cover it. I need to go and get ready for supper out with my hubby and a couple close friends. I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day. I certainly plan to!!!

Until next time,

Link Up Below:
Please link up your birthday themed creation below. Remember to add DDD after your name if you have used one of my designs for an additional entry. You can link up until May 19th at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Happy Easter!!!

To those of you who celebrate, Happy Easter!

As always, I will leave it up to the Easter Bunny to bring you some sweet treats or fragrant ones. My gift to you is this digital paper in honour of today. Though I suppose it could be considered a bit tasty itself if one was to use their imagination...

https://app.box.com/s/qnrqnqveit6xs1vy0bqmqbwbzm3tditl

I came across a tutorial a few weeks back to make a chocolate bar image and I thought how cool would that be as a digital paper. I hope you like it as much as I do. I'm rather proud of it as it isn't made with any images per se (though a shape was used to make the imprint of the egg in the chocolate) but built from the ground up.

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from PSD Dude, and Heather Green, HG Designs. To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Until next time,

Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #133...Shades of Purple in Your IMAGE

http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.ca

Hey folks! I'm here today to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge. This time around for Challenge #133, the theme is Shades of Purple in Your IMAGE. With spring emerging and Easter to soon be upon us, there are lots of different kinds of cards and projects that could use a little purple. Just remember, we want to see purple in the actual image itself, not just the overall creation.

Here is my card, I hope that I haven't forgotten any important details:

General Info:
  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop). I will print it out and assemble it a later date.

FRONT

Digital Image Details:
  • Bloomin' Bucket: I just love this basket of daisies. I used it last year and will probably do so again in the future. It is just such a versatile image! You can find it in Pattie's Etsy shop by clicking on the name or watermark linked below.
  •  This image has been coloured with a combination of digital colouring and the use of patterns.
    •  Credit for metal pattern: Pickled-Jester-Inc (Deviant Art)
    • The daisies themselves were digitally coloured using my new Rebelle program.

Digital Embellishments:
  • The base behind the sentiment and the scalloped sircle was created from a template originally designed by Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper.

INSIDE

Digital Image Details:
  • Three Daisies: This trio of daisies was the perfect lead in for my sentiment. This image can also be found in Pattie's Etsy shop by clicking on the name or watermark linked below.
  •  These daisies were digitally coloured in Photoshop Elements just to give them a silhouette kinda look.

  • The sentiments used on the front and inside were created by Paulette from Create with TLC. For great freebies and inspiration be sure to click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and for awesome sets for purchase, click HERE to go to the home page of the store.

Digital Paper Products:
  • The paper used as a base on the front and inside is from my Mommy Dearest: Patterned Papers Kit. I simply recoloured it to fit the colour scheme of my card. This paper pack or the entire Mommy Dearest Bundle can be purchased in the Scribbles Designs store. You can find it HERE.

Digital Embellishments:
  • The circle shape used for matting in behind the image and sentiment was created from a template purchased from Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper.
  • I have applied shadow layer styles to give certain elements some depth. These styles were designed by Sheila Reid, Pixel Scrapper.

Challenges I am hoping to enter...

You have until May 4th to enter our challenge which should give you lots of time to get a creation done. Remember the theme is Shades of Purple in Your IMAGE. I really hope that you will be able to join us. You can enter twice per challenge and of course MUST follow all the challenge requirements that are posted for each challenge (please click HERE to become familiar with all the rules). In addition to all the typical criterion, you MUST USE A DIGITAL OR STAMPED IMAGE to qualify for the drawing (unless stated otherwise). We would absolutely love to see you use a Pattie's Creations (PC) image on your card, but you are allowed to use other images. If you do use a PC image, you will gain an extra entry in the draw and will have a better chance to WIN!  Easy Peasy right!

Pop over to the challenge blog and check out what my fabulous teammates have offered up for inspiration. Oh and don't forget...Pattie offers up a new freebie the first Friday of the month and it will remain up for approximately two weeks; so, be sure to pop over and check it out as well!

Until next time,
