Freebie: Happy Hallowe'en 2020

Hello on a cold (-3 degrees Celsius), damp and dreary Hallowe'en night! While we had our first snowfall of the year a few days ago, the cold wet weather is persisting. Unfortunately, I don't think that many kids will be out and about tonight. We've purchased some treats just in case but I can't see too many parent letting their kids go out given the current pandemic that is raging through its second wave here in Ontario. The numbers in my home province are almost twice what they were in the spring on a daily basis and our hospitals are filling again! Thankfully in my own community the numbers continue to be relatively low. At least that is one benefit of living in the northern part of the province! It has been quite a year hasn't it?! I hope that you and your families continue to stay safe out there wherever you may happen to live.

While hubby remains downstairs ready to hand out treats just in case any kids brave it (it's already close to 7:00 p.m. and not a knock so far), as usual I've been up here on the second floor of our home on the computer getting stuff ready for the first of the month and of course making you all a Hallowe'en themed digi paper. Now I am aware that some of you do not celebrate Hallowe'en, but as I've mentioned in years past, Hallowe'en is actually of Christian origin. Whether you celebrate it or not, maybe you can find some use for this year's freebie.

Check out the preview...

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Creative Fabrica Crafts and HG Designs. Full credits in the file. To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

It is a busy time of month so join me at The 12 Months of Christmas for our newest link up or at Scribbles Designs for our midway tomorrow. Then if everything goes according to plan, I should see you again next Friday when I'll be back with my card for Pattie's Creations!

Until next time,

Freebie: Happy Hallowe'en 2019

Hello on this rather cold, wet and snowy Hallowe'en night! Today marks the first snowfall of the year for our area and what terrible timing. It is usually cold on Hallowe'en and sometimes rainy but this year the poor kids have to battle both the cold AND the rain PLUS some wet snow thrown in!!!! That would probably account for the fact that kids have approached our door less than a handful of times this evening. While it has dwindled significantly over the last several years, I think tonight will be our lowest record yet.

While hubby has been downstairs handing out treats to the few who have braved the weather, I've been up here on the computer getting stuff ready for the first of the month and of course making you all a Hallowe'en themed digi paper.

I've used resources from Prettygrafik Design via DesignBundles and Pixel Scrapper. Full credits in the file. To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Pop back here tomorrow for info on the latest challenge over at Pattie's Creations or join me at The 12 Months of Christmas for our newest link up or at Scribbles Designs for our midway. It is packed day and hopefully I'll manage to get everything done on time!

Until next time,

Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #163…Hallowe'en/Autumn

http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.ca

Hello there folks! I'm popping in today to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge. This time around for Challenge #164, the theme is Hallowe'en/Autumn. It is that time of year where so many kinds of cards can be made--Thanksgiving, Halloween or just a card to celebrate the fall season in general. I've chosen to make a Hallowe'en card for this challenge.

General Project Info:
  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop). I will print it out and assemble it a later date.

FRONT

Digital Images Details:
  • I have used two of Pattie's images for my card. The first one is Haunted House. I repeated and then flipped it for the other end of the card. The image in the middle panel is Tree Owl Moon Silhouette.

INSIDE

 Digital Sentiment Details:
  • The sentiment used on the inside was created by Paulette from Create with TLC. For great freebies and inspiration be sure to click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and for awesome sets for purchase, click HERE to go to the home page of the store.

OVERALL
Digital Paper Products:
  • The paper used as a background on the front and inside is one available in my Trick or Treat kit. You can purchase it as part of the Patterned Paper section from that kit or as part of the full kit. You can find the kit for sale in the Scribbles Designs store by clicking the watermark below.

Digital Embellishment Details:
  • I have used basic shapes in Photoshop Elements to create matting in behind the image and sentiment (inside).
  • I have applied shadow layer styles to give certain elements some depth. These styles were designed by Sheila Reid, Pixel Scrapper.

Challenges I am hoping to enter...

You have until October 31st to enter our challenge which should give you lots of time to get a creation done. Remember the theme is Hallowe'en/Autumn. I really hope that you will be able to join us. You can enter three times per challenge and of course MUST follow all the challenge requirements that are posted (please click HERE to become familiar with all the rules).

Pop over to the challenge blog and check out what my fabulous teammates have offered up for inspiration. Oh and don't forget…Pattie offers up a new freebie the first Friday of the month and it will remain up for approximately two weeks; so, be sure to pop over and check it out as well!

Now before I go, I also wanted to let you know that Pattie is retiring over 30 images from the store so you'll want to check them out before they are gone forever. Click on the badge below to head over to that section in the Pattie's Creations store! Each retiring image is available for only $1 USD!!! So it is a great time to stock up.

Freebie: Happy Hallowe'en

Boy am I cutting it close, but it is still Hallowe'en--for the next 12 minutes anyway!

While I am aware that some of you do not celebrate Hallowe'en, it has always been one of my favourite occasions. Did you know that the word Hallowe'en dates back to around 1745 and is of Christian origin? The word "Halloween" means "hallowed evening" or "holy evening" and it comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows' Eve (the evening before All Hallows' Day) (Wikepedia).

There is so much incredible history wrapped up into Hallowe'en and one of these years I may have the time to share more of it!

Anyway, here is the preview for today's freebie...

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Creative Fabrica, HG Designs and Pixel Scrapper. Full credits in the file. To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Goodness there is so much going on tomorrow but I don't think I'll get a chance to get it all done especially since I've a Dr. appt. tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck!

Until next time,

Scribbles Designs October 28th Freebie: Spider Smiling

Hey everyone!  I'm popping in to let you know that a new Freebie Friday Image is available, over at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog. This week there is a creepy Smiling Spider available for download. Now, I don't know about you, but I'm really creeped out by spiders, Like SERIOUSLY CREEPED OUT! In fact, I even had to shy my eyes from this week's freebie lest I have nightmares. So given my aversion to the creepy crawly, there was no way I was able to make a sample using it. If YOU are brave enough, I invite you to go and download it.

Don't forget to mark your calendars every Friday to head on over to the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog to grab the latest freebie up for grabs. You can find Spider Smiling from October 28th's post HERE. Alternatively, you can find it in the store
HERE. It is a great way to add to your SD digi stamp collection. Remember, when you use an SD image on a project that you enter into our monthly challenges, you get extra entries! That is a great incentive to use one of Sandy's images.

Well that is it for this post. I hope to see you again soon!

Freebie: Happy Hallowe'en

Okay, so I realize that Hallowe'en has just minutes left before it is over but I at least managed to get your freebie done before midnight.  I'm sure all the little ghosts and ghoulies were home hours ago and spent their evening enveloped in a serious sugar high.  We had a whole 13 kids show up at the door.  Not many, but twice the number we had last year.  At least it wasn't raining and freezing tonight only just a little drizzle.

There is so much history wrapped up into Hallowe'en and maybe next year I will have time to share some of it with you.   For now, there is just five minutes to go before it is midnight and I still have to get one more post ready to come out for tomorrow morning.  Unfortunately it doesn't appear that I am going to get one of my DT posts done that technically should have come out by the end of the month as well.  Hopefully I won't be fired.  Well...on that happy note, it is time for me to get on with it.

Anyway, here is the preview to today's freebie...

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Scraps Statchoo, and Rita from the fabulous The Coffee Shop BlogFull credits in the file.  To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

I'll see you all again tomorrow with my midway project for Scribbles Designs.  Plus it is time for the DT Delight's post for The Path of Positivity and the newest challenge at The 12 Months of Christmas.

Until then,

Wonderful Wednesdays (on a Thursday)--Offering for October

If you are new to my blog and want to know how this concept got started, you can find the original post by clicking HERE

Ummmmm....oops.  I KNEW there was something else that I should have done yesterday.  Oh well, it may not be Wednesday anymore but at least it is still October.

If you are new to my blog in the past year, you can find other items for the October kit by clicking on the respective links below:

October 2013

  • The word October offered up as a word art creation, using different fonts and Hallowee'en themed layer styles. Click HERE.
  • Four different digital papers offered up in both 12 in. and 6 in.  Click HERE.
  • Three different frames.  Click HERE.
  • Three different Hallowe'en themed word art creations, and a bonus date stamp (actually there is three, see below for more info on this).  Click HERE.

For 2015, I am offering up another digital paper for the October kit with the theme: Frightfully Delightful...

https://app.box.com/s/3991ufzq89ina8idaeox9o2esbycde08

I tried to make the info banner as small as possible so that you get a good idea of what the paper looks like.  I found this awesome action and overlay over on The Coffee Shop Blog early this week and knew that I wanted to use it for this month's paper.  It really makes a difference from the original piece of work.  This paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels and in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. Credits include:  William Ehrendreich and Ben Kerckx (Pixabay.com); Jerry Jones from Shadow House Creations; and Rita from the fabulous The Coffee Shop Blog.  To grab today's offering, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the papers, the preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Finally, you can find your bonus stamp for October below.  Well, I managed to find the round date stamps that I
couldn't seem to locate for Aug. and Sept.  They were on the last post of October's offering.  Silly me.  You can just left click on this one to bring it up in the lightbox and then right click to save it in its original size.

Stay tuned for a new Wonderful Wednesday post coming next month, hopefully back on a Wednesday!

Until next time,
