The 12 Days of Christmas Quest: Day Seven

Hello and happy New Year's Eve everyone! Just one more sleep until a brand new year!

It is the seventh day of Christmas and it is time to continue the quest. If you missed day one click HERE to start from the beginning and read all the details.

Day two: click HERE
Day three: click HERE
Day four: click HERE
Day five: click HERE
Day six: click HERE

As a quick refresher, each day during the 12 Days of Christmas (Dec. 25th to Jan. 5th), you're going to be given a task to follow. Each day over the next 12 days, I'll be asking you questions to find out a little bit more about you as a designer. You will be able to leave your daily answer in a comment on the post for each respective day. If you follow the instructions for each day, you'll earn a free digital paper.

Since this is a busy time of year for most people, you will have plenty of time to complete the quest. It is completely up to you as to when you submit your answers (daily, all at once at the end, or otherwise). AS LONG AS ALL your TASKS are submitted, no later than January 12th, 2020, then you will qualify to receive the paper(s) for whichever day(s) you participate.

Here is the paper up for grabs today...

This paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. Credits include: KatiaZhe (via Creative Fabrica) and Design TNT (via Inky Deals). In the zip folder that will be emailed should you successfully complete the quest, you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Play along each of the 12 days and you'll earn yourself the full set! So, how about we get started with today's task?!!

On the seventh day of Christmas,
it is time to earn paper number seven.
Keep up the good work and before you know it,
you'll soon work your way up to number eleven!!!

Task:
LIST FIVE OF YOUR FAVOURITE DIGI DESIGNERS AND WHY?

For myself, it is difficult to narrow down since there are SOOOOOO MANY designers that I love so it is a good thing I just have to list five and not my top five--I think that would just be too difficult to narrow down. Here are five of my favourite designers in no particular order:
  1. Sandy Sommerfeld of Scribbles Designs
  2. Jodie Mackrell of Bugaboo Stamps
  3. Tammy of A Day for Daisies
  4. Beccy from Beccy's Place
  5. Kristy Breach from Imagine That Digistamp
...but then how can I forget Nikki from Limited Runs or Ike from Ike's Art or.....the list could go on and on! Just too many favourites to choose from!

When you come up with a response for today's task, simply leave your TOP FIVE FAVOURITE CHALLENGE BLOGS LIST ALONG WITH YOUR REASON FOR WHY YOU CHOSE YOUR #1 in a comment on THIS POST. Now for many of you, especially those who have played in previous years, the odds are that I should have your e-mail address in order to send out the free paper you earn. If you are new to the quest or are not sure whether I might have your email address, please be sure to also leave your email address in your comment. If you would prefer to keep your address private, then check out the bottom paragraph from Day 1 for how to send it to me.

Hope this New Year's Eve is a festive one! See you all tomorrow for day number eight!!!

Cheers!

Play along today and you'll get to add
another free digital paper to the mix!!!

Task:
If you could try A SHAPED CARD FOLD that you've NEVER tried to make before, what would it be?

Well, for myself, it could be any number of answers since I think that I have only ever done a handful of different folds. I see some of the members of my Christmas design team doing all these really neat folds and I wish I had time to try them. There is one really cool fold that I've seen out and about and Beccy's Place has a tutorial for it so one of these days I'd really like to try a Handbag Card. The end result is so beautiful and I think my mom would be so pleased to receive something like that! If you'd like to check out this tutorial, you can find it HERE.

When you come up with a response for today's task, simply leave the name of the CARD FOLD THAT YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY AND MAKE in a comment on THIS POST. Now for many of you, especially those who have played in previous years, the odds are that I should have your e-mail address in order to send out the free paper you earn. Just a few precious minutes of your time,
and you'll get to keep the quest alive!!!

Task:
ARE THERE ANY DESIGN TEAMS that you are NOT already on, THAT YOU'D LOVE TO BE A PART OF AND WHY?

Oooooh, goodness. For myself, that is a tough one because there have been many through the years that I'd love to have been part of. There are several I've thought of but probably three that top my list. Two that I REALLY would have loved to have part of are in longer in service. The first is From the Heart Stamps, whose owner sadly passed away a couple of years ago. The other is for a store that has temporarily shut down while the owner is taking a break and planning on going off in a new direction: A Day for Daisies. I just adore Tammy's stamp line. There is another team that I have secretly wished I could be a part of and that is Gerda Steiner Designs. I guess I'm into cutesy stamps when I look at what they all have in common!

When you come up with a response for today's task, simply leave your DESIGN TEAM WISH LIST ALONG WITH YOUR REASON(S) WHY in a comment on THIS POST. Now for many of you, especially those who have played in previous years, the odds are that I should have your e-mail address in order to send out the free paper you earn. it is time to earn paper number four.

Task:
What are your TOP FIVE FAVOURITE CHALLENGE BLOGS that you link up your projects to? Please rank in order from most favourite being number 1 AND tell me what it is about the one that you rank as #1 that makes it your favourite of the bunch?

For myself, these days I don't really have time to join up to many challenges and given that my current cards are digital, that makes it hard sometimes to find challenges that don't ask for handmade creations. So, the following challenge blogs have been my 'go to' list lately because they all accept digital and I don't have to worry about any sort of theme:
  1. Through the Craft Room Door -- Okay, maybe I'm biased because I was featured in one their magazines a few years ago (goodness, has it been that long?!) or maybe it is because I was a regular sponsor for a few years and got to know Cara well. There is also the fact that they have a line up of really great sponsors AND their designers never fail to inspire!
  2. Word Art Wednesday
  3. Crafty Creations Challenges
  4. Your Scrapbook Place
  5. Crafting With an Attitude

In the zip folder that will be emailed should you successfully complete the quest, you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.
Play along each of the 12 days and you'll earn yourself the full set! So, how about we get started with today's clue!!!

On the third day of Christmas,
it is time to earn paper number three.
If you care to share some more with me,
you'll earn another paper for free!!!

Task:
What are YOUR THREE FAVOURITE TOOLS for making cards?

For myself, while I don't get to use tools very often because I just don't have the time, if I could use them more often, there are three that I would definitely break out and use. The first one would be my Cricket Electronic Cutter. It is a very basic machine but you can get some fun shapes out of it to add to cards and some simple card shapes as well. My second would be my Big Shot Embosser that someone gave to me as a gift since I love texture on cards. Finally, I guess it would be the envelope maker that my hubby got me. It is perfect for those odd shaped envelopes that I need every so often.

When you come up with a response for today's task, simply leave the list of YOUR THREE FAVOURITE TOOLS in a comment on THIS POST.

Hope this third day after Christmas finds you still thinking merry thoughts! See you all tomorrow for day number four!!!

The 12 Days of Christmas Quest: Day Two

Happy Boxing Day!!!

It is the second day of Christmas and it is time to continue the quest. If you missed day one click HERE to start from the beginning and read all the details.

As a quick refresher, each day during the 12 Days of Christmas (Dec. 25th to Jan. 5th), you're going to be given a task to follow. Each day over the next 12 days, I'll be asking you questions to find out a little bit more about you as a designer. Play along each of the 12 days and you'll earn yourself the full set! So, how about we get started with today's clue!!!

On the second day of Christmas,
it is time to earn paper number two.
So, follow the steps, leave me your answer,
and I'll get the next paper off to you!!!

Task:
What is your FAVOURITE CARD MAKING STYLE? For ex., shaped cards, clean and simple, shabby chic, digital, eclectic, combination of techniques, etc.

For myself, these days I seem to be into making digital cards. It gives me practice working on my digital colouring skills and other digital techniques. I put as much time into my digital cards as my handmade ones, usually a minimum of two to three hours or more a piece. I envy these people who can pull together a card in under 30 minutes!

When you come up with a response for today's task, simply leave your response in a comment on THIS POST. Now for many of you, especially those who have played in previous years, the odds are that I should have your e-mail address in order to send out the free paper you earn. The 12 Days of Christmas Quest for 2019 Begins Today!

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! Happy Chanukkah to all my Jewish friends! Feliz Navidad, Kwanzaa Blessings and Happy Holidays to everyone else!

Today marks the official start of the 12 Days of Christmas for 2019 and it is time for the 12 Days of Christmas Quest to begin!

This year, your tasks are going to be a little bit different. Each day over the next 12 days, I'll be asking you questions to find out a little bit more about you as a designer. You will be able to leave your daily answer in a comment on the post for each respective day. If you follow the instructions for each day, you'll earn a free digital paper.

I know that this is a crazy busy time of year and hopefully the majority of you are off-line and spending quality time with your family and friends; so, be rest assured, that you will have plenty of time to complete each task.

Credits include: Creative Fabrica Crafts (via Creative Fabrica) and Marisa Lerin (Pixel Scrapper). In the zip folder that will be emailed should you successfully complete the quest, you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Play along each of the 12 days and you'll earn yourself the full set! So, how about we get started with today's task?!!

On the first day of Christmas,
it is time to earn paper number one,
So, I hope that you will all join in
and have yourself a little bit of fun!!!

Task:
If you could put any ONE CRAFT MAKING TOOL on your Christmas Wish List, what would it be and why? For ex., die cuts, cutting machines, special paper cutter, embosser, punch borders, washi tape dispenser, border punches, fuse tool, special ruler, special mat, etc.

I too have a tool that I'd love to get; however, I have no idea what the name of it is. I want an electric cutter that I can hook up to my computer in order to cut out files that I've purchased. Something that I could use to create decals for glassware and clothing. I'd really love to be able to create my own wrapping paper and fabric as well but have no idea how to go about doing it. Unfortunately, it will more than likely remain on my wish list forever because I could never afford it. That is also why I don't know what the name of the machine is. I don't want to do any research to find it because then I'd just cry everyday knowing just how out of reach it really is BUT there will be no crying at Christmas, so instead it will stay in my dreams.

When you come up with a response for today's task, simply leave your CRAFT MAKING TOOL Christmas Wish List in a comment on THIS POST. Now for many of you, especially those who have played in previous years, the odds are that I should have your e-mail address in order to send out the free paper you earn. If you are new to the quest or are not sure whether I might have your email address, please be sure to also leave your email address in your comment.  Now if you are afraid of being spammed, you can write your address by adding {at} and {dot} in their respective spots (see sample below) so that robot spammers won't grab it from the comments when they are published. If you would prefer that no one else see your email address, then you can send it to me in an email to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca (be sure to replace 'at' and 'dot' with the appropriate symbols) or by clicking HERE to bring up my address in your email program, with the subject heading, "12 DoC 2019: Email Addy for DP Mail Out".

This is a busy time of year for me too and I also want to spend some time with my hubby as well; so, I ask that you please be patient with me. I generally wait until the entire quest is over so that way if someone has participated in all 12 Days, I can just save time and send out the full set at once. So I'll make a list (and check it twice 😉) throughout the 12 Days of Christmas Quest keeping track of who has participated and then work on sending out papers once the event has wrapped up. If someone has participated each day over the next 12 days and has managed to get all their answers in by Jan. 5th, then I'll start mailing as of then. If not, I'll be waiting until the 12th when the deadline is over.

Merry Christmas, my wonderful friends, followers and readers! See you all tomorrow for day number two!!!

Cheers!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to you all! I hope you have (or have had, depending on your location in the world) a wonderful day with family and/or friends.

It is my firm belief that everyone should get at least one present on this day. So here is my Christmas gift to you...

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. Credits include: Design TNT (via Inky Deals) and Studio Denmark (via Design Cuts). To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Stay tuned as later this evening I have something special planned. I am going to do my best to bring you the sixth annual edition of The 12 Days of Christmas. Each day for 12 days, you can earn a free holiday themed digi paper by doing a simple task. So, I'll see you all again soon!

Happy holidays all!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have to apologize to all my Canadian friends, followers and readers out there. Unfortunately, at the time of our Canadian Thanksgiving (Oct. 14), my hubby and I were frantically trying to get ready to go and visit our family in London, ON, and I just didn't have the opportunity to get a paper done at that time.

So Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians. I'm still trying to catch up from the five days we were away but managed to squeak out a paper just in time for the American Thanksgiving (today).

Check out the preview...

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from: Blessedgrafik (TheHungryJPEG), Melo Vrijhof (Pixel Scrapper) and The Coffee Shop Blog. Full credits in the file. To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Whether you live in a country that celebrates Thanksgiving or not, there is lots in each of our lives to be thankful for!

If you do happen to live in the States, enjoy the time with your families and of course your feast. Like I ask every year, I'd love for someone to have a great big slice of apple pie and let me know how good it was. For everyone else around the world, happy Thursday!

Well that is it for this one! See you again soon!

Until next time,

Freebie: A Day to Remember

Hello friends. Once again, November 11th has rolled around. A day that should always be remembered.

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in the year 1918, the battlefields drew quiet as the hostilities ceased. Thus bringing an end to World War I, 101 years ago today.

Each of us living in Commonwealth countries around the world, should take a moment today to remember and honour those who have bravely fought in ALL wars to help keep the peace and keep us safe.

Each year I try to honour this day in my own small way with something special. Here is a digital paper I created for anyone interested.

Freebie: Happy Hallowe'en 2019

Hello on this rather cold, wet and snowy Hallowe'en night! Today marks the first snowfall of the year for our area and what terrible timing. It is usually cold on Hallowe'en and sometimes rainy but this year the poor kids have to battle both the cold AND the rain PLUS some wet snow thrown in!!!! That would probably account for the fact that kids have approached our door less than a handful of times this evening. While it has dwindled significantly over the last several years, I think tonight will be our lowest record yet.

While hubby has been downstairs handing out treats to the few who have braved the weather, I've been up here on the computer getting stuff ready for the first of the month and of course making you all a Hallowe'en themed digi paper. Now I am aware that some of you do not celebrate Hallowe'en, but as I've mentioned in years past, Hallowe'en is actually of Christian origin. Whether you celebrate it or not, maybe you can find some use for this year's freebie.

Check out the preview...

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Prettygrafik Design via DesignBundles and Pixel Scrapper. Full credits in the file. To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Pop back here tomorrow for info on the latest challenge over at Pattie's Creations or join me at The 12 Months of Christmas for our newest link up or at Scribbles Designs for our midway. It is packed day and hopefully I'll manage to get everything done on time!

Until next time,
