Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #158…Birthdays

http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.ca

Hello everyone! I'm back here today to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge. This time around for Challenge #158, the theme is Birthdays. Spring is a busy time for birthdays in my household. My mom celebrated her 75th birthday at the start of March, my hubby and I celebrated our birthdays at the end of April, and my dad celebrates his 79th birthday just a few days from now! I have had lots of occasions to make a birthday card and so for this challenge I made one for my hubby.

General Project Info:
  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop). It was printed, assembled and handed out on April 22nd.

FRONT

Digital Images Details:
  • Party Gnomes can be found in Pattie's Etsy shop.
  • This image was coloured in digitally using digital colouring and paper piecing. Credits include:
    • The beards were paper pieced with an image from Robert Owen-Wahl
    • The hats were paper pieced with my Dots patterned paper from the future Birthday Bash Kit. Details below.
    • The overalls were paper pieced with a paper from the textured papers section from my A Taste of Summer Kit. Details below.
    • The shoes were paper pieced with a leather texture from Textures 4 Photoshop
    • The grass is a couple of different images also courtesy of Textures 4 Photoshop
    • The sky and cloud background is one I created with my Rebelle program
    • The rest of the elements were digitally painted in Photoshop.

Digital Embellishments:
  • The button and string are created with templates designed by Sheila Reid, Pixel Scrapper.
  • The tag shape template I used for the pennant was designed by Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper.

INSIDE

Digital Images Details:
  • 3 Balloons is also a Pattie's Creations image. It was a freebie offered up on the challenge blog.

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • The sentiment was a freebie created by Paulette from Create with TLC.  For great freebies and inspiration be sure to click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and for awesome vintage items for purchase, click HERE to go to the home page of the store.

OVERALL
Digital Paper Products:
  • The paper used to paper piece the gnome's hats and also for the little pennant shape accent on the front is my Dots patterned paper from my future Birthday Bash kit. It is available as a FREEBIE and you can find it HERE.

  • I also used another of my FREEBIES on the front of my card. You can find this one by clicking HERE.

  • Finally, the blue textured paper that I used to paper piece the gnomes' overalls plus for the background of the front and inside of the card and the yellow textured paper used as matting are from the Textured Papers portion of my A Taste of Summer Kit. You can purchase these papers or the entire kit over in the Scribbles Designs store by clicking HERE.

Digital Embellishment Details:
  • I have used basic shapes in Photoshop Elements to create matting in behind the image and sentiment.
  • I have applied shadow layer styles to give certain elements some depth. These styles were designed by Sheila Reid, Pixel Scrapper.

Challenges I am hoping to enter...
