Howdy doody to all you wonderful pattooties!  It is time to bring you all some freshly brewed inspiration to perk up the middle of your week.  Today starts the second week of our latest challenge going on over at Fresh Brewed Designs.  Right now we are halfway through our Lots of Lattés Challenge which means you have one more week to get your entries in.  It is the perfect time to be creating for this challenge.  Did you know that September 29th is International Coffee Day?  Well I didn't myself until I paid a visit to Create with TLC.  Paulette always lets us know what obscure occasions are coming up!  So get those cards done in time to celebrate and make sure that you enter our challenge with one for a chance to win!!!

YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW ALL THE RULES TO WIN!
  1. This challenge ends Tuesday, September 30th.
  2. You can enter up to 5 times with your NEW creations (no back linking please).
  3. If you use an FBD image, please add FBD to the end of your name.
We will be awarding one overall monthly lucky winner a guest designer spot for the month of November as well as awarding one winner in each challenge, 3 Digital Stamps.

For all the challenge details including the link up, please click HERE.

Here is a card that I have created to help inspire you...

General information:
  • I am probably one of the few people on the planet (okay maybe not the planet but definitely the western world and probably parts of the eastern one) who does not drink coffee or even tea for that matter.  So, this was an interesting challenge for me.  However, quite a while back I had come across a fabulous saying and wrote it down to create into a sentiment in the future.  Well future meet present, and as a result, I've got a great inspirational card for someone.  Uh...the great implies the meaning behind the card, not the quality.   Yup after two years, I'm still insecure about my abilities and still measuring them up to others; although, I'm at least not doing it as often as before so I suppose that is progress of sorts!

    FRONT
    Digital Image Details:
    • Latté Cup:  The main image on the front is the Latté Cup.  The image is currently available in the FBD store.  You can find it by clicking on the image name or watermark below.  The image was coloured in digitally.
    http://www.freshbreweddesigns.com/item_582/Latte-Cup.htm
    Digital Sentiment Details:
    • While I didn't create the saying (couldn't find an original author), I did create the sentiment.

    INSIDE
    Digital Image Details:
    • This tea cup is the same image that you see in the digital paper.  For more details, see below.
    Digital Sentiment Details:
    • The other half of the saying.

    OVERALL
    Paper Products:
    • Card, image and sentiment base:  Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
    Digital Paper Products:
    • I created the coffee cup paper and the tea paper using images from Scribbles Designs.  I also created the textured paper used in behind the image on the front and the sentiment on the inside.  Look for these new papers plus several more coming out soon as part of a new Scribble Doodle Designs paper set called, "Sip and Savour".
    Challenges I hope to enter...
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  I hope you have the chance to go and check out the Latté Cup image I used, along with all the other great images available in the store.  If you are into coffee or know people who are, then FBD is the place to be.  Heather has such a wide variety of coffee images, you'll be able to easily find what you need.

If you are looking for more fresh brewed inspiration, I'll be back in a couple weeks to showcase a card made with another one of Heather's awesome new images.

At Fresh Brewed Designs we always have a fresh pot of creativity brewing. So stop by and join us for a cuppa whenever you want!

    Until next time,

Digital Design: The Beauty of Butterflies...Week 6

    http://nicecranedesigns.com/
Hello everyone!  Welcome to the sixth and final week of The Beauty of Butterflies give-a-way.  If you missed any of the previous entries, you can click HERE for week 1, HERE for week 2, HERE for week 3, HERE for week 4, and HERE for week 5.

To refresh your memory, once a week, for the last six weeks, I have been presenting one section of a special new mini kit I created called The Beauty of Butterflies.  This kit contains six items in each of the following categories:
    • Patterned Papers
    • Textured Papers
    • Brads
    • Buttons
    • Journal Cards
    • Tags
There are a total of 36 items in the kit.  Each week I have been offering up a freebie from each  section which means that if you have downloaded each item (including today's offering), you'll now have six matching elements.

This kit was inspired by the beautiful vintage butterflies available from Nicecrane Designs.  One of the wonderful things about the sets available through Nicecrane Designs is that quite a few of the images can be used for commercial use.  This of course is perfect for people like me, who enjoy doing design work.

It is time to showcase the final item in the kit, the Tags...

As promised, here is your freebie from this next set:
    https://app.box.com/s/41g4727xop9z1x6uvhv7
To grab this matching tag, click HERE or on the preview above to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the tag, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders. This tag is approximately 1500 x 2600 pixels, in png format and published at 300 dpi.

Don't forget, you can earn the full set for free...

As a special gift, I've decided to give away the entire Beauty of Butterflies Mini Kit to anyone who can show me proof of purchase of ANYTHING from the Nicecrane Designs store from August 19th until September 30th, 2014 (freebies obtained through the store do not count).  Just email me a copy of a dated Nicecrane Designs receipt with your name on it (PLEASE delete or cover up any other personal identifying information that you want to keep private, ie. address, tel. no. credit card or paypal information, etc.).  I just need something from the store with your name and date on it, a description of what you bought, and the price, in order to confirm your purchase.  It is as simple as that.  If you do make a purchase from the ND store and want this mini kit, just send an email with your proof of purchase attached, to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca, or by clicking HERE to bring the address up in your email program, with the subject heading, "Beauty of Butterflies Kit Request".  You can find all of Ignacio's wonderful designs in the Nicecrane Designs store.  Click HERE to head there now.

Thanks so much for stopping by these past six weeks.  I appreciate all your sweet comments on this set.
Don't miss out on your chance to get this set for free.  You have one last week to take advantage of this opportunity.

And, as always, to stay current on ALL the latest releases and to check out the fabulous inspiration from my fellow DT members, be sure to head over to the Nicecrane Designs blog.

    Until next time,

Card Design: From the Heart Stamps September Challenge

    http://fromtheheartstamps.com/community/blog/
It is time to post my project for the September, From the Heart Stamps (FTHS) progressive stamp of the month challenge.  In order to enter the progressive challenge, you must either have received the latest image by having participated in the previous month or you can buy the stamp for the current month's challenge.  Everyone who enters and follows the rules is a winner because you automatically get the stamp for the next month's challenge.  Stop by the site and check out the rules for yourself.  While you are there, have a look around.  They have some really great images.

Here are my card and details.  I hope I haven't forgotten anything important...

    General Information:
    • Once again, I'm working at CAS with this card but I must say, I really had fun with it.
    • Also, you will notice that the image has been divided up and I have only used two of the three BirdbrainsTM. Please note that I sought and received permission from Faith, the owner of FTHS, to alter the image.  If you wish to do something similar and it isn't in the terms of use, always contact the artist.
    FRONT
    Digital Image Details:
    • The image on the front, Flappy Birthday, is available for purchase over at From the Heart Stamps.  Click HERE or on the watermarks below to go to its location in the store. It was coloured in with Copic Markers then fussy cut.  I also added a piece of twine that I received as a gift to replace the inked string.
    Buy Flappy Birthday
    Punch:
    • I used a Fiskars punch to achieve the look of the grass.  I decided to do two layers in different colours to make it look like there was a bit of depth.
    Embellishments:
    • The cloud stickers are Sticko brand produced by EK Success and were purchased at Michael's.
    INSIDE
    Digital Image Details:
    • As mentioned in my general notes, the image on the inside is part of the original image in the Flappy Birthday set.  It was also coloured in with Copic Markers.
    Digital Sentiment Details:
    Embossing Folder:
    • This pattern was created with a Goosebumpz embossing folder using my wonderful Big Shot machine.
    Lessons Learned:
    • Apparently, it is time for me to learn another lesson.  I wanted to add some texture to the inside of the card so it wouldn't be so flat looking.  Well, I have to figure out which way to position things when embossing to have the embossing show up on the right side.  Unfortunately I screwed up with this card.  Although, as my husband says, 'who will know'.  Well, anyone who knows anything about making cards certainly will.  Note to self:  Must make sure to send it to someone who doesn't.  So, given that it isn't raised properly it is a little hard to see; therefore, here is a close up of the inside.  Besides, now you get to see one of the little BirdbrainsTM a bit closer as well.  Oh well, at least the back of the card looks beautiful...

    OVERALL
    Paper Products:

    • Card base: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, Cool Water Collection.
Challenges I am hoping to enter:
Others I might get it into...

Thanks for popping by everyone!  I hope you enjoyed my card and post.  I'll see you again tomorrow when I present the last Beauty of Butterflies post.

    Until then,

While th' two mateys be playin' racquetball, one o' thems reacted t' th' pain with an outburst o' "Aaarrr!", and th' idea be born.  Thems two scallywags sent a letter about thar invented holiday t' th' American syndicated humor columnist Dave Barry in 2002.  This chap be likin' th' idea so much he promoted it.  Th' media grabbed hold o' th' holiday after Barry's column and it now be an international event followed by many each year on September 19th.

Now o' course I can't be sendn' ye along yer way without a pirate joke or two:

Q:   What kind o' socks does a pirate wear?
           A:   Arrrrgyle!

Q:  What 'tis th' problem with th' way a pirate speaks?
           A:   Arrrrticulation!

So, ye scurvy knave, avoid feelin' a taste o' th' 'cat a nine tails aroun ya scabby back and make cerrrrrtain ye and yer land lubber mates around ya be talkin' like a pirate throughout yer day.

Digital Design: The Beauty of Butterflies...Week 5

    http://nicecranedesigns.com/
Hello everyone!  Welcome to the fifth week of The Beauty of Butterflies give-a-way.  If you missed any of the previous entries, you can click HERE for week 1, HERE for week 2, HERE for week 3, and HERE for week 4. Just one more week left!

To refresh your memory, once a week, over the course of six weeks (starting August 19th) I will be presenting one section of a special new mini kit I have created called The Beauty of Butterflies.  This kit will contain six items in each of the following categories:
    • Patterned Papers
    • Textured Papers
    • Brads
    • Buttons
    • Journal Cards
    • Tags
There are a total of 36 items in the kit.  Each week you'll also get a freebie from that section.

This kit was inspired by the beautiful vintage butterflies available from Nicecrane Designs.  One of the wonderful things about the sets available through Nicecrane Designs is that quite a few of the images can be used for commercial use.  This of course is perfect for people like me, who enjoy doing design work.

This week I'll be showcasing the Journal Cards...

As promised, here is your freebie from this next set:
    https://app.box.com/s/ri5ee010u32p5ub0umr4

To grab this matching journal card, click HERE or on the preview above to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the card, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders. This journal card is 900 x 1200 pixels, in png format and published at 300 dpi.

EDIT:  While trying to zip up this bundle I came to realize that when viewing my papers in an alternate program, they are stating that they are published at 72 dpi and not 300 dpi.  Now when I start a paper I always state 300 dpi in the set up so I don't understand what it going on.  The other items in the kit all saved at their proper dpi.  When I view the paper information in Photoshop Elements, it also states that it is 300 dpi.  So, just in case there is an issue, I've re-uploaded the links on the original posts for the free patterned paper and the free textured paper from this set for anyone who is just finding out about these freebies.  However, if you have already downloaded the two papers, then it might be a good idea to download them again and replace the originals just in case there is discrepancy.

For the link to the patterned paper in this set click HERE.
For the link to the textured paper in this set click HERE.

Kits will be mailed out as soon as the final section of tags is complete.

Next week I'll present the last section in the set, the tags which thankfully, I have now finished.  Of course you'll also get a freebie and one final reminder for how to get the full set; so, I'll hope you'll stop by to see the end of the set.

Don't forget, to stay current on ALL the latest releases and to check out the fabulous inspiration from my fellow DT members, be sure to head over to the Nicecrane Designs blog.

    Until next time,
