Card Design: Countdown to Christmas with Nicecrane Designs, Day 2

http://nicecranedesigns.com/
As promised earlier this week, I'm back to showcase the remaining three cards that I created for my momma as part of her Christmas gift from LAST year using images from Nicecrane Designs.

FRONTS
Digital Image Details:
  • A Joyful Christmas:  For these final three cards I used the image you see in the middle, and the two on the right hand side of the preview below.  Click on the watermark below to take you to its location in the store.

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • Ones I created specifically for these cards.
Other Notes:
  • I added faux stitching digitally to each of the panels that served as a base for the image and sentiment.  The colour of the stitching was designed to match the colour of ribbon used on each card.
Embellishments:
  • I thought it fitting to use ribbons from the collection I got from my Momma so the ribbons used on each of these cards are Spool O' Ribbon brand although I don't know where they come from.
Embossing Folder:
  • The card base was embossed using the one of the folders from the Cricut, Paper Lace II set.
Other Notes:
  • I made the inside the same on each, just switching up the colour of the faux stitches.  To see a sample of how it looks, if you missed my post from earlier in the week, you can find it HERE.

Paper Products:

  • Card, image and sentiment base: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.

Before I go...
I've got another great Christmas themed set for you to check out.  If you love animals, then this one is for you.  Check out the precious images available in the Kitten and Puppies on Christmas Collection.  This set contains 10 adorable vintage images that would be great for any last minute holiday cards.  Be sure to go and check them out while you are at the store (c

Don't forget, to stay current on ALL the latest releases and to check out the fabulous inspiration from my fellow DT members, be sure to head over to the Nicecrane Designs blog.
Well, the first week of December is almost done. I don't know that I'm any farther ahead in all my tasks than I was at the beginning of the week. Although I have finished a card and an ornament but there are miles to go before I am done, so please wish me luck!
In the coming weeks, I will have another set of five cards to share with you using Nicecrane Designs images and hope to have a couple ornaments as well. If I'm really lucky, I might even get my Momma's actual Christmas card completed and uploaded. However, given that I still haven't posted the cards I did LAST year for my momma and poppa and my husband, I'm not sure the odds are good but I will be trying!
Stay tuned as I'll be back with a promo post very shortly!
Until next time,

Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #105...Christmas Cards

http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.ca
Happy first Friday in December everyone!  Oooh, the Christmas countdown has definitely begun.  Well it has for me anyway, I usually start Dec. 1st.  This month is going to be gone before I blink and there is just so much to do to get ready for Christmas.  AAAAACCCCCCKKKKK!  Apparently, the Christmas Panic has officially set in as well.

However, right now it is time to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design ChallengeThis time around for Challenge #105, the theme for the next two weeks is Christmas Cards.  At least this gives me another chance to add to the Christmas card pot which is now up to...

Christmas Card Count to date: 28

Here is my card, I hope that I haven't forgotten any important details:

General Information:

HUBS if you happened to pop by today...

BACK AWAY FROM
THE COMPUTER SCREEN

NOW!!!!!!

Now that that is out of the way, and you better have backed away Décosse, I can continue to show the Christmas card that I created for the most important man in my life.

    FRONT
    Digital Image Details:
    • Santa Frog:  This awesome image was perfect for my card.  The hubs loves all things frogs and as he is also a French Canadian, this really was the ultimate image to use for his Christmas card this year.  You can find the image in Pattie's Etsy shop by clicking on the name or watermark linked below.  It has been coloured in with Copic Markers.  I added faux stitching digitally all the way around the white panel before printing.
    https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/62973216/santa-frog?ref=shop_home_active_20
    Digital Sentiment Details:
    •  I created a banner shape and coloured it to match the embossed panel in the background, superimposing the text on top of it.  I layered it all digitally onto the white panel with the image and then printed it out.
    Embossing Folder:
    • The card base was embossed using the one of the folders from the Cricut, Paper Lace II set.
     INSIDE
    Digital Image Details:
    • Christmas Gifts Set of Three:  I wanted to jazz up the left hand side of the inside so I used two of the presents from this wonderful gift trio also available in Pattie's Etsy shop.  These images have also been coloured in with Copic Markers.
    • Heart Candy Canes:  Then to finish off, I thought that the heart shaped candy canes would offer up the perfect frame for my inside sentiment.  Of course, this great image is also available in Pattie's Etsy shop and once again, it has been coloured in with Copic Markers.

Challenges I am hoping to enter...
I really hope that you will join us sometime during the next two weeks. Don't forget that along with all the typical rules that apply to the majority of challenges out there (please click HERE to become familiar with all the rules), you MUST USE A DIGITAL OR STAMPED IMAGE to qualify for the drawing (unless stated otherwise). Card Design: Countdown to Christmas with Nicecrane Designs, Day 1

    http://nicecranedesigns.com/
Oooooh Boy!  It is December 1st and the Christmas countdown has officially begun.  Last night in anticipation for the start of this holy month, I was singing Christmas carols and wanting to put up decorations--I'm not sure I'll even have the time to do so as this is going to be ONE PACKED MONTH both here on the blog at in my home as we get ready for the arrival of the big guy.  I might be 47 years old but I am always a kid at this time of year!

Today I am posting the first of a series of Christmas themed creations made with images from Nicecrane Designs I have several ideas planned, now I just have to hope that I can pull them all off in time!

These first two cards are from a set of five that I created for my momma as part of her Christmas gift from LAST year.  It is high time that I finally show them to you.  I'll show you the rest later in the week.

    INSIDE
    Other Notes:
    • I kept the inside simple only adding the same digital faux stitching that I did for the front.  While the colour of the stitching is green in this particular sample picture, each card's stitching matched the front.

Scribbles Designs Challenge #23 Midway Point

It is the first of December.  Can you believe it?!  Just one more month and this year will be done and part of history!

Today also marks the midway of the latest Scribbles Designs Challenge.

There are two whole weeks left for you to come on over and enter. In case you've missed it, the theme this month for Challenge #23, is Penguin Paradise In many parts of North America right now the weather has significantly cooled and some places have even seen snow. Too much in my own area actually for this time of year!  That makes this month the perfect time to honour Scribbles Designs' much beloved character, Brr and his family--wife Brrneice and baby Brr.  Did you know that Brr was the first main character that Sandy created?  He's had a lot of adventures during the years and he has earned his time in the spotlight.  So, this month we want to see any kind of penguin on your creation.  It is high time, Brr and the family meet some of the other penguins out there in digital land.  We can't wait to see your cool creations!

Entering is super simple!  You do not need to use a Scribbles Designs image; however, if you do, your name gets entered into the draw twice.  You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE or you can also find one for a limited time on the challenge blog HEREAlso, be sure to check out our special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.  You can find the rest of the rules and information regarding winners in the sidebar on the challenge blog.  You have until 9pm PST on December 14th to come over and play with us.

    General Information:
    • I actually created this card back in May for our great nephew's grade eight graduation.  It is high time that I finally get a chance to show it you all.
    • The front was created as a one layer card in Photoshop Elements, then printed out so I could colour Brrr.
