It is the third day of Christmas and it is time to continue the quest. If you missed day one click HERE to start from the beginning and read all the details. Then for day two, click HERE.
As a quick refresher, each day during the 12 Days of Christmas (Dec. 25th to Jan. 5th), you're going to be given a task to follow. I'll be asking you questions to find out how the pandemic has impacted your life over the last year--how it has affected you, what things you've had to do differently, how you've had to adjust your life--that kind of idea. You will be able to leave your daily answer in a comment on the post for each respective day. If you follow the instructions for each day, you'll earn a free digital paper.
Since this is a busy time of year for most people, you will have plenty of time to complete the quest. It is completely up to you as to when you submit your answers (daily, all at once at the end, or otherwise). AS LONG AS ALL your TASKS are submitted, no later than January 12th, 2021, then you will qualify to receive the paper(s) for whichever day(s) you participate.
Here is the paper up for grabs today...

Task:
Family is everything. What ways have you been employing to reach out to your loved ones during the pandemic? Have you done anything creative to let them know you care?
For myself, I've been reaching out with the reliable phone and email. Haven't exactly been creative in any unique ways. We don't have a camera for our computer so I haven't been making any zoom calls. I'm just thankful that the phone remains a reliable means of communication!
When you come up with a response for today's task, simply leave your response in a comment on THIS POST. Now for many of you, especially those who have played in previous years, the odds are that I should have your e-mail address in order to send out the free paper you earn. If you are new to the quest or are not sure whether I might have your email address, please be sure to also leave your email address in your comment. If you would prefer to keep your address private, then check out the bottom paragraph from Day 1 for how to send it to me.
Hope this third day after Christmas finds you still thinking merry thoughts! See you all tomorrow for day number four!!!
Cheers!

I do get to see some of my relatives on occasions. My 7 year old granddaughter facetime us a good bit.
Have a great day!

My family is scattered as are many today and since we couldn't be together we enjoyed a ZOOM get-together on Christmas. We spent an hour laughing and talking about anything and nothing at all, from our. homes in Pennsylvania, Montana, Oregon and California.
I, too have used my telephone, a few Emails and some texting to keep connected. My kids have sent pictures and I have gone on Facebook occasionally to see what they post and to "sing" Happy Birthday to them. As far as creatively, I made some birthday cards for the grandkids and Christmas cards for neighbors, friends and family. Made the young Grandkids a paper "ornament" to hang on the tree, and for the older kids, I made money envelopes for their much loved Christmas present.
Very grateful for technology this year. We were able to have a Facetime call with my Father In law and separate one with Sister in Law and Nephew. It was also his birthday on Christmas Day so we had a call a bit later to see him blow his candles out and sing Happy Birthday. The only other time we have not been with him is when they went on holiday abroad at Christmas so this was lovely to at least be together for his cake.
My sister works in a care home and had a 6 day shift staring Christmas Day so I could only send her a text. We have not seen one another for the whole of 2020 and technology has kept us close.
Ho-Ho-Ho.....another awesome paper. I've been making crafting baskets up for my grandchildren to get creative with, especially since they are more remote school at this time.
This way they have new crafty goodies to be creative with and I' having fun at the same time making them up.

We have visited Dad by knocking on his window at the Nursing home. I have also sent lots of email stories and asked him several questions he might research on his computer. Many of them have been about birds and religion: two topics in which he is rather knowledgeable! We have an Alexa with a screen and we use it to contact our grand-girl. Our other grand-girl lives further away and I contact her through electronic means, also. Many of us are like Lisa in that we communicate through phone calls!
I am lucky that my close family live nearby. We have kept in contact through messaging, texts and phone calls. We have occasionally visited to deliver birthday and Christmas gifts and have had a socially distanced chat on the doorstep. I don't like cameras, so video calling or zoom is not for me at this point. xx
During lockdown earlier in the year we used video calls to keep a check on other members of the family. We also used the phone to keep in contact with my Mum as she doesn't have a computer (and would struggle to operate one anyway!)
The pandemic caused me to re-send greeting cards. I try to make cards-baubles for the Christmas tree or cards for the exhibition to be close to each other during Christmas. I did not have to resign from visiting my children. My son came with four grandchildren. The daughter-in-law had to stay at home because only 5 people could visit each other. Hugs Danka
We have a family text line for Tom's family. We send pictures, comics and messages back and forth often. So we do stay in touch with his family a lot. We also have a text line with our boys in Boston that we use frequently and they call us every once in a while and we talk or Zoom chat. We see the twins about twice a week and lately have been keeping them overnight to give their parents a break. We've made a couple 24 hour trips into Cincinnati to see Tom's 90 year old father and help with chores around the house. So nothing really new in terms of family communication but just a lot more of our regular stuff.
Nothing creative going on here either...just texts and phone calls. :)
I have been talking to my family on the phone. Plus I send cards to them by snail-mail. It really is snail mail any more. Edwina Brown
No creative outlets, especially since my family consists of my 85 year old father and my 64 year old brother and SIL, neither of which like to text, and certainly didn't want to zoom! Speaking of Zoom, I can't get it to work properly and cannot for the life of me find anything online to help troubleshoot my sound issue. I have missed out on quite a few online crafty calls, but its probably just as well. I'd have chatted and not gotten anything made!
I wish I could say that I have been reaching out more but sadly I haven't done anything different.
OOOOooooo, I love this paper! Zoom calls, Messenger meetings, cards, emails, and texts have kept us connected.
My sister lives alone following the sudden death of her husband two years ago. I made and sent her card every week during the long lockdown, and then re-started when we encountered further restrictions later. She is so thrilled to receive them that it is worth the effort. My postman also deserves a medal because he collects all my nail meaning I don't have to venture out. I have also made a few cards for him too.
Most of our close family so quick meet ups when possible have occurred. Between that it's been phones calls and text messages.
I think we had more group texts going this year that in the past. It's has been a great way to stay connected.

I've continued sending cards and then Honey regularly visits his mom and we talk on the phone to her and to our daughter and son-in-law more than we used to, but actually that's been it. Mostly because of my autoimmune issues and having to self-isolate. XOX
Whats app thas been our go to as you can see each other as well as speak
Due the pandemic, almost everyone returned home from abroad. So we get to see them regularly and to have more meals together before they return to their overseas endeavors.
