The 12 Days of Christmas Quest: Day Two

Happy Boxing Day!!!

It is the second day of Christmas and it is time to continue the quest. If you missed day one click HERE to start from the beginning and read all the details.

As a quick refresher, each day during the 12 Days of Christmas (Dec. 25th to Jan. 5th), you're going to be given a task to follow. I'll be asking you questions to find out how the pandemic has impacted your life over the last year--how it has affected you, what things you've had to do differently, how you've had to adjust your life--that kind of idea. You will be able to leave your daily answer in a comment on the post for each respective day. If you follow the instructions for each day, you'll earn a free digital paper.

Since this is a busy time of year for most people, you will have plenty of time to complete the quest. It is completely up to you as to when you submit your answers (daily, all at once at the end, or otherwise). AS LONG AS ALL your TASKS are submitted, no later than January 12th, 2021, then you will qualify to receive the paper(s) for whichever day(s) you participate.

Here is the paper up for grabs today...

This paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. Credits include: Creative Fabrica Crafts (via Creative Fabrica) and Pixaroma (via DealJumbo). In the zip folder that will be emailed should you successfully complete the quest, you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Play along each of the 12 days and you'll earn yourself the full set! So, how about we get started with today's clue!!!

On the second day of Christmas,
it is time to earn paper number two.
So, follow the steps, leave me your answer,
and I'll get the next paper off to you!!!

Task:
They say that laughter is is the best medicine. How have you managed to keep yourself laughing during the last year?

For myself, I have definitely been affected by all the sadness around me, especially during the first few months of the pandemic and again lately as the numbers in my province have increased dramatically. In fact, we're under a province wide lock down again as of today. When this all started, I almost felt like my empathy was on overload and it became very difficult to stay positive. I'm sure that was the case for a number of people. One of things that helped was just being extra silly and goofy and singing out loud. My hubby went out of his way to be silly and goofy in order to put a smile on my face. I also found myself watching more comedies that I typically would. Laughter really does help and I hope that each of you were able to enjoy some laughs to keep your own spirits raised. In that vein, I hope that today's paper helps to put a smile on your face as well.

When you come up with a response for today's task, simply leave your response in a comment on THIS POST. Now for many of you, especially those who have played in previous years, the odds are that I should have your e-mail address in order to send out the free paper you earn. If you are new to the quest or are not sure whether I might have your email address, please be sure to also leave your email address in your comment. If you would prefer to keep your address private, then check out the bottom paragraph from Day 1 for how to send it to me.

Hope this Boxing Day finds you happy and healthy! See you all tomorrow for day number three!!!

Cheers!

We have been very fortunate that our restrictions due to the pandemic only ran from late March to early June. With the exception of one city which was restricted for another few weeks since then, the rest of the country has been able to function relatively normally since June. I was struggling a lot during our lockdown phase but thanks to a You Tube channel that I found that was turning songs into funny covid lyrics there were some lighter moments.
There is always someone creating a funny card so when looking at other crafters' cards there is often something to laugh about.

I am so very fortunate that my hubby and I are so very close, we laugh at so many silly things. We love the same comedians like Michael McIntyre, Billy Connolly. Programs like 8 out of 10 cats, QI so you learn a little whilst having a laugh.

One of the things we love most is to watch animal programs and it is amazing how much you learn but also how much humour there is, especially in baby animal programs.

I think it is important to keep laughing and not dwell on the bad situation we are all in. The sorrow of this whole epidemic would make you so depressed otherwise.

Sadness and confusion were a part of my life too, but my faith always kept me smiling in my heart. I watched TV shows that brought me to laughter sometimes, in addition to talking on the phone with my friend/neighbor about all the things that happen when you get older, I am 73 and she is 75 and we laugh about so many things that we both share at this age. Talking on the phone with my kids and grandkids also brought about laughter, but not as much as when we text......I wasn't raised with cellphones, so much of my texting comes with errors that we laugh about. I forced myself, yup forced to get in and make Christmas cards to lift my spirits, and it worked! Med phone calls with my primary care physician of about 17 years always end up somehow with both of us laughing about something or other. Just hope he is laughing WITH me and not AT me..........LOL I know the end of the story spiritually so that keeps me happy, even through all that is happening in the world.

For me , I have been surrounded with sadness during this time also. Just recently I lost a real good friend of 40 years to cancer. What makes me keep laughing is when I am able to see my grandkids. They keep me happy during this time. My 7 year old granddaughter always facetime me and she is always doing silly things.
Have a great day!

Another adorable digi paper Lisa.

LOL, I can't sing for nata, however, I decided not to let things get me down, so, I started making up my own words and tunes to my favorite holiday songs. Still the dog runs and hides looking at me like Please.....stop singing lol.

I simply told him, everyone needs to sing while decorating and baking cookies, ,
hugs, Lori m

With horses and dogs, there is always something to laugh at here! It seems they are always doing something crazy! Just recently we have taught the dogs to "jingle the bells" that are hanging from the door knob for Christmas. Luther, our shepherd, just would not do it on command. The Golden, Khloe, was all about it enjoying her treats! Well, we were sitting at dinner one evening and all of a sudden the bells were ringing like crazy; Luther was in there just playing away with the bells! We laughed so hard while breaking out the treats!

Good books! I was lucky enough to find several that were very humorous. Also, my husband has been much better company than I had expected! Love this paper, thank you.

Remembering my brothers and their crazy antics as kids. They were so funny. I can still hear my brother Tim acting like Tiny Tim singing Tip Toe Through the Tulips. He was very good. Plus once he asked mom what she was cooking for breakfast. It was sweet rice. She answered him "Rice" and without blinking he said "Lice!". He was fast on the uptake. Chris and Vincent were just as much fun. Edwina Brown

The goat paper is delightful, Lisa.
There has not been a great deal to smile about this year. The restrictions on meeting with family and friends means that we have been cooped up as a family unit and have had to make the most of the situation. I am lucky that my husband is a little bit crazy, so he always brings some laughter into the day. Friends have been messaging silly videos and memes to brighten up our day. I have taken quite a few online craft workshops and they always makes me smile - especially when I get to see my finish project! The host of one set of workshops, in particular, comes to mind as she always has lots of chit chat and silliness in her classes and live Facebook sessions. She has definitely been a life saver for a lot of single people having to shield through these difficult times. xx

I am a life coach, I teach others how to live well. Everyone knows me because of their smile and good energy. While working, I couldn't show my clients that I was worried. I smile every day, my husband supports me with a smile. I have not left home since March, I work online and create. We try very hard to keep it great to laugh. I don't know anyone who would die from Covid, a few friends have gone through it almost without symptoms. We try to smile as always. Hugs Danka

Tom and I have taken to watching a movie or something on You Tube each evening together. Lately we've been watching a number of stand up comics who are funny and make us laugh. We've been through some rough patches throughout the pandemic but we usually seem to pull out of the doldrums by finding a project or two to put us to work.

I'm still working, so my work friends and I laugh a good bit in our daily tasks. :)

I was very fortunate to meet several like minded, crazy crafters shortly after the pandemic started. They have been my saving grace, giving me reasons to smile, giggle, and even snort... daily! Without them I would have really struggled, especially since my best friend has been seriously depressed this year and I while I can usually cheer her up, I only get to speak to her a couple times a week. She had just gone back to work full time right before the pandemic hit because her husband's business was struggling. Crummy time to return to work after 18 years of raising your child at home.

Thankfully my daughter is a comedian so we have been having fun still!

Having more free time seems to provide more opportunities to laugh. Also, I am more forgetful than I used to be. I can either laugh about it or cry about it. I choose to laugh!

Receiving funny texts and emails from my brothers! We definitely need a smile and a laugh, even if we are feeling a little sad.

Laughing has been difficult. Besides the pandemic shut downs, I lost my mom to a stroke in late June ... It been a lot of things taking care of her estate, but fun is not one of them. Luckily I have an amazing husband who along with my kids have been helping me see the side of regalur life challenges that I otherwsie would not have been looking for. I think it saved my sanity!

How have you managed to keep yourself laughing during the last year?

Well, the biggest blessing in my life has been my Honey. He's made me laugh every single day, and God Bless Him. I have felt the loss of COVID personally, I've had relatives and friends suffer through having it, so it could so easily keep me depressed over it all, but my savior has been my husband and his is me. I haven't really tried to find amusement through entertainment because so much of it over here in the States is politically tinged and mean, so I've really gotten myself UNhooked on it. I listen to music constantly, smooth jazz. BUT, one online source of joy has been the crafty blogland, I spend more time here than on Facebook and that cannot be bad! lol XOX

My animals make me laugh especially the ducks who are so clumsy and get so excited when they are let out of their enclosure for a run around.

It was hard to laugh and smile as we are now living in a Strange world and to adapt to the current situation amid the pandemic in the beginning. Also my favorite crafter with a popular Youtube Channel passed away in March. Crafting does help me to find joy and smile. And to overcome the Covid challenges last year.
