Card Design: Scribbles Designs Challenge #33...Good Luck!

Hello and a very happy Tuesday to all of you.  Today marks the start of our new challenge over at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.

This time around, for Challenge #33, the theme is Good Luck!
For many, September is a time of new beginnings.  Many families have children headed back to grade school or high school.  Others have grown children en-route to college or university.  Then there are those who may be starting their first full time job or just moving into their very first apartment.  These are all great reasons for wishing someone good luck.  You may have another reason to share words of good fortune with another.  Whatever the occasion, this month we want to see projects wishing someone you know good luck.  Everyone could use wishes for a little good fortune now and then!  Even our challenge number with its double threes is a sign of good luck according to some!

In order to participate in our challenges you DO NOT NEED TO USE A SCRIBBLES DESIGNS IMAGE on your project but you must follow the monthly theme and the other rules that have been established for our particular challenge blog.  You can find them, along with the prize information, listed in the right hand sidebar of the challenge blog.  This challenge will end at 9pm PST on October 14th.

You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE and there is a free image over on the challenge blog as well to help get you started.  Also, be sure to check out the special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.

To help inspire you, I have created a digital 'good luck' card that I will also make into a physical card as well when I get the chance.  I decided to keep the inside empty so that I can use it for any situation that might require
wishes of good fortune.  This card features another of the fabulous sentiments offered up by Scribbles Designs.  It is an oldie but a goodie.  It was introduced the first month that the Scribbles Designs store opened.

Here are my card and all the details...

General Information:

  • This card was created 100% digitally and then layered in a poster mockup.
  • I have used a sketch from William Sketchie Challenge--that is the name right on the title of the image that I saved, I am assuming from someone's blog or Paper Playful.  The problem is that when I went looking for the blog to get the address, I couldn't find it anywhere.  I don't know if the name was wrong (I did try a couple variations) or whether the blog just doesn't exist anymore; however, just in case there was a mistake with the image name when it was uploaded and the sketch belongs to someone else, I decided not to include the image of it here on this post.

FRONT
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • Good Luck Quote:  A wonderful collage sentiment perfect for wishing someone luck!  Click on the watermark below to find this sentiment in the SD store.
  • I texturized it using a texture from Heather Green, HG Graphic Designs.

Digital Embellishment Details:
  • The flower, squares, photo corner and upper edge/border are from the Delight Kit available at {Computer} Scrapbook.com (see details below).  The upper edge/border was paper pieced with a scallop template from Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper
  • The shape used for matting in behind the sentiment along with the shapes I amalgamated to create the purple-blue accent piece, are simple shapes created in Photoshop Elements and paper pieced with papers from the Delight Kit.
  • The shadows to give each element some depth were created with a layer style from Sheila Reid, Pixel Scrapper.

Digital Paper Products:
  • The digital papers and elements used in this creation are all from the Delight Kit created by a designer with {Computer} Scrapbook.com, available as a freebie.  I'm afraid the file didn't indicate who the original designer is.

  Other Notes:
  • The poster mockup that I used to display the card in is from Design Bolts.

So put on those thinking caps and design a project that fits our theme. If you need some images to help you out you can check out all wonderful ones that are in the Scribbles store. You have an entire month to enter at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog, so I hope to see you there. If you have some time I invite you to go and check out the wonderful inspiration offered up from my colleagues on the DT. We always look forward to seeing what you come up with for each month's theme!

 Until next time,
