Card Design: 12MoC Ch. #12 Midway + DT Call

http://12monthsofchristmaslinkup.blogspot.ca/

I can't believe that I haven't posted a card for The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up since July!  I swear I'm doing less but apparently not!  The midway was posted last night and now I'm going to show you the Christmas card I made for my Poppa.  Unfortunately a medical appt. took up quite a bit of time yesterday so I didn't get the chance to post it then.  Sometimes, it is a good thing to be the boss.

Before I start I wanted to let you all know that we have a DT Call going on right now.  Would you be a good fit with The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up?  Joining the team would allow you to get a great start working on your Christmas card stash for 2016 and if you like playing with digital papers you can add a minimum of six to your collection each month you are with us, plus at least one digi image each month from our fabulous sponsors.  At the end of a six month term you'd amass a minimum of 36 digi papers and six + images.  Stay a year and you earn double that--72 Christmas themed digi papers and 12 + images.  How's that for incentive?!   If you are interested, please click HERE for all the details.

As far as the challenge goes, don't forget that this link up is basically two-fold.  First of all, you have the opportunity to link up any number of Christmas and December holiday themed cards throughout the month with an anything goes theme. At the end of each month, every person who has linked up a MINIMUM of two (2) Christmas or holiday themed cards will be eligible to receive a specially designed Christmas themed digital paper created by moi. That means that if you submit two cards each month, by the time that the year is done, you will have received 12 free digital papers, all for the low cost of linking up cards you need to create anyway. You do not need to use the digital paper you receive each month in your cards in order to get the next paper. They are strictly meant as incentive to participate.

While team members had the option of working with any of my Décosse's Dynamite Doodles papers, I did create a special set called Santa Claus is Coming to Town, based on the theme for this challenge. Check out the preview...

Everyone who links up a minimum of two cards during the month of December will earn ONE of the digital papers from this set.  The specific paper up for grabs will be shown during the winner announcement post.  If you would like to have a say in determining which paper will be offered, you can answer the poll we've set up in the sidebar on the top right hand side of The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up blog.

The second part of the challenge provides even more incentive to play. Each month there will be an OPTIONAL theme to follow. This month the optional theme is Santa Claus is Coming to Town.  In order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month,  we want to see a Santa image somewhere on your card. Now we are looking to see the big old jolly guy himself, no Santa substitutes please (i.e. no Santa frogs, Santa mice, Santa children, etc).  Whether it is part of your image, part of your paper or just an embellishment, it is up to you.  You can find more details over on the Challenge #12 post. You can find that post and the link up by clicking HERE.

Also, be sure to check out all the rules and details on the Challenge Details Page. We have provided examples of a few different scenarios to help explain things and make them a bit clearer, in case there is any confusion.

This month our wonderful guest sponsor is
Rick St. dennis...

Card Design: Scribbles Designs Challenge #36...Bingo

Hello and a very happy Tuesday to all of you.  Today marks the start of our new challenge over at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.

This time around, for Challenge #36, the theme is Bingo! Did you play BINGO as a child?  Maybe you still do.  The fun thing about BINGO is that you can adapt it to play in different ways.  For example, the game can be adapted for coming up with different ideas to add to your card or project.  If you haven't played a
BINGO challenge before it is a pretty easy concept to follow.  Simply create a card or other kind of project using any 5 items listed below in a row--across, down or diagonally, it is up to you.  For example, you might choose to work with the items in the second row down--glitter, pearls, patterned paper, a sentiment and the colour red.  Or maybe you'll choose to use all the items in the last row down under the 'O"--No patterned paper, red, washi tape, blue and some gems.  Whichever row you choose, just please be sure to mention in your post the items you have chosen to use.  We look forward to seeing the different combinations, you all come up with!

In order to participate in our challenges you DO NOT NEED TO USE A SCRIBBLES DESIGNS IMAGE on your project but you must follow the monthly theme and the other rules that have been established for our particular challenge blog.  You can find them, along with the prize information, listed in the right hand sidebar of the challenge blog.  This challenge will end at 9pm PST on January 14th.

You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE and there is a free image over on the challenge blog as well to help get you started.  Also, be sure to check out the special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.

Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #117...Any Christmas Creation

http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.ca

Welcome all!  I'm here today to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design ChallengeThis time around for Challenge #117, the theme is Any Christmas Creation. With Christmas right around the corner, now is the perfect time to get any of those last minute cards, tags, decorations and other Christmas items finished!

Here is my card, I hope that I haven't forgotten any important details:

General Info:
  • This is another skinny card. This one measures 7 in. by 3.5 in.  I posted a similar style one earlier this week.
  • As soon as I saw this stocking image in the store, I had an idea of what I wanted to do. I had thought of a full fireplace but then the stockings would have been too tiny. So instead, I simply used a mantle from a fireplace and made it into shelving--the wonderful power of vector images!
  • This card was created digitally and then printed and assembled.

     FRONT
    Digital Image Details:
    • Vintage Christmas StockingI love this pretty stocking.  You can find the image in Pattie's Etsy shop by clicking on the name or watermark linked below.
    • This image was coloured with a combination of paper piecing, layer styles and digital colouring.
    • Bells and the stocking outline have been altered using a Photoshop layer style.  I used Instaglam resources purchased as part of a bundle.  The original designer's name is Jessica Johnson and you can purchase it HERE.
    • Stocking top altered using a later style courtesy of HG Designs
    • Holly is paper-pieced with an existing holly element from Sheila Reid, Pixel Scrapper
    • Mantle and pegs are from All Free Download.
    • Stockings paper pieced with a digi paper from the Unplanned Outing kit created by Correen Silke available at {Computer}Scrapbook.com.

    • Vintage Christmas Stocking

Happy December 1st!!!  Just one more month left in the year.  I still have things I haven't done that I was supposed to LAST December, never mind this one!  But time stops for no one right?!  Well, since it is the start of a new month that also means that it is time for the midway for the latest Scribbles Designs Challenge to get started.

There are two whole weeks left for you to come on over and enter.   In case you've missed it, the theme this time around for Challenge #35, is Christmas: Non Traditional Colours!  While Christmas is knows for its bright reds, brilliant greens and sparkling golds and silvers, there are many other wonderful colours that can represent Christmas just as beautifully. This month we'd like to see a Christmas themed creation using non traditional colours. It is time to bring out the blues, pinks, purples or other non-traditional colour palettes and give your Christmas project a different kind of hue.

Entering is super simple!  You do not need to use a Scribbles Designs image; however, if you do, your name gets entered into the draw twice.  You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE or you can also find one for a limited time on the challenge blog HEREAlso, be sure to check out our special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.  You can find the rest of the rules and information regarding winners in the sidebar on the challenge blog.  You have until 9pm PST on December 14th to come over and play with us.
