Card Design: Imagine That...Creative Playground Challenge #2 Midway: Birthday Bash

Hey Guys!  I'm stopping in today to remind you of the current challenge going on over at the Imagine That! Digis by Kris blog.  You are free to link up any creative project you'd like as long as it follows our theme!

Theme: BIRTHDAY
This challenge runs March 5 - April 1

Streamers, balloons and gifts, oh my! It is time to adorn your head with a party hat and light up the candles on the birthday cake. Regardless of what day it is, you can be rest assured that somewhere in the world, someone is celebrating their birthday. This challenge we want you to create a birthday card for someone. Yours, mine, a family member's, a friends, or even an acquaintance's. It doesn't matter whose birthday you are celebrating or the number of candles that happen to be on top of the cake. Simply show us a card commemorating someone's birthday. Kris has some really awesome sets that would be just right for a birthday card. She even has a couple of mega kits at a great value - check out the Birthday category HERE. Why not go and check out the STORE before you start and see if you can find just the image you are looking for.

Let the birthday bash begin!

Although we're asking you to create a card this time, you may choose to create a scrapbook page, or gift box, whatever you can imagine as long as it's obviously BIRTHDAY THEMED!

Please be sure to check out all the rules and details for the challenge.  You can find them HERE along with the link up!

General Info:

  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a poster mockup.  I will print it out and assemble it a later date.
  • I have used a past sketch from From the Heart Stamps.

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Leesa's Tulip:  I used the sweet Leesa's Tulip image from the set!  If you add one of the IT! DbK special badges to your blog sidebar, you can receive the outline version of this image for free.  You can find the details for how to do so by clicking HERE.  To find the set in the store, click on the name or the watermark below.

Digital Embellishment Details:
  • The tag shape used to create the pennant and the template I used to create the tulip buttons were designed by Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper.

INSIDE
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • This sweet sentiment was created by Paulette from Create with TLC.  For great freebies and inspiration be sure to click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and for awesome sets for purchase, click HERE to go to the home page of the new store.

OVERALL
Digital Paper Products:
  • I used one of the bonus papers included in the Leesa's Tulip set.

Digital Embellishments:
  • I have used basic shapes in Photoshop Elements to create matting for the base of the card and in behind the image and sentiments.
  • I have applied shadow layer styles to give certain elements some depth.  These styles were designed by Sheila Reid, Pixel Scrapper.

Challenges I am hoping to enter...

We'd love for you to join us!  Pop over to the original post which you can find HERE to find out all the details!  You can also check out what some of my fellow teammates created by heading over to the midway post which you can find HERE.

Well folks, that is it for this one See you all again soon!

Until next time,
