This time around, for Challenge #32, the theme is Boys Will Be Boys. It is time to celebrate the men in our lives. Fathers, husbands, brothers, uncles, nephews and friends. Many of us have a plethora of men to choose from. For others there may just be a few. This month create a card for one of the special men in your own life. Many of us seem to shy away from making these more masculine projects; so, it is time to challenge ourselves and break out our images, papers and embellishments and make something manly. Boy oh boy, we can't wait to see what you come up with!
In order to participate in our challenges you DO NOT NEED TO USE A SCRIBBLES DESIGNS IMAGE on your project but you must follow the monthly theme and the other rules that have been established for our particular challenge blog. You can find them, along with the prize information, listed in the right hand sidebar of the challenge blog. This challenge will end at 9pm PST on September 14th.
You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE and there is a free image over on the challenge blog as well to help get you started. Also, be sure to check out the special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.
To help inspire you, I have created a digital 'thank you' card with a masculine vibe that I will also make into a physical card as well when I get the chance. This card features one of the fabulous sentiments offered up by Scribbles Designs.
Here are my card and all the details...
General Information:
- This card was created 100% digitally and then layered in a poster mockup.
- I have used an old sketch from From the Heart Stamps.
FRONT
Digital Sentiment Details: - Thank You Quote: I love this fun blocky sentiment. It provides a great set up for digital paper piecing which is what I did. Click on the watermark below to find this sentiment in the SD store.
Digital Embellishment Details:
- The stars and photo corners are from the Daddy Day Kit available at {Computer} Scrapbook.com (see details below).
INSIDE
Digital Sentiment Details:
- This great sentiment was created by Paulette from Create with TLC. I picked it up as a freebie a while back. For more great freebies, click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and to purchase some wonderful sets, click HERE to go to the store.
OVERALL
Digital Embellishments:
Digital Paper Products: Digital Embellishments:
- The shapes used for matting in behind the image and sentiment are simple shapes created in Photoshop Elements and paper pieced with papers from the Daddy Day Kit.
- The shadows to give each element some depth were created with a layer style, also from Sheila Reid.
- I also used a distress style from Sheila Reid to texturize the matting used in behind the sentiments.
- The digital papers and elements used in this creation are all from the Daddy Day Kit created by Jeanine Baechtold a designer with {Computer} Scrapbook.com, available as a freebie.
Other Notes:
- The poster mockup that I used to display the card is from Design Bolts
