It is time for the next challenge over at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.
This month for Challenge #19, the theme is Sea, Sand & Surf. Right now, North America is experiencing the lazy days of summer. Just think...cool waters, splashing in the waves, and sand castles. Ahh...there is nothing like a lazy day at the beach. So, this month we want to see your projects with sea, sand, surf or any of the wonderful symbols associated with beach time. Surf's up, will you catch the wave?
In order to participate in our challenges you DO NOT NEED TO USE A SCRIBBLES DESIGNS IMAGE on your project but you must follow the monthly theme and the other rules that have been established for our particular challenge blog. You can find them, along with the prize information, listed in the right hand sidebar of the challenge blog. This challenge will end at 9pm PST on August 15th.
You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE and there is a free image over on the challenge blog as well to help get you started. Also, be sure to check out Sam's special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.
To
help inspire you, I'm going to show you some new digital papers I have put together using three of Sandy's summer related images. Sandy and I are going into business together to bring you the best of both our worlds--her amazing images and my creative papers and possibly other types of digital creations down the road. Right now I have almost completed our first collaborative paper pack called, 'Sizzlin' Summer'. This paper pack will have six uniquely designed patterned papers using six different summer themed Scribbles Designs images. Then we'll also be offering six complementary textured papers to use.
Wouldn't it be awesome to have a card with Sunny Brr on it using a paper with Burt or the sun in the background? Or what about a card using Sandy's pail and shovel with a paper that has 'to the beach' on it? I love to be able to coordinate my cards and I'm sure there are others of you out there who enjoy doing the same thing.
Sandy and I have lots of fun things planned for our Scribble Doodles Designs collaboration and we hope that you'll support us in this new venture.
For now, here is a sneak peek of three of the new papers that will be available in this set!

Now remember, if you want to use any images from other designers in your own digital creations (i.e. papers and other digital embellishments) then you must read the terms of use carefully and if there is nothing written specifically covering what you want to do, don't just assume you can. You must seek out permission from the artist first. A more detailed disclaimer will appear at the end of this post.
So
put on those thinking caps and design a project that fits our theme.
If you need some images to help you out you can check out all wonderful
ones that are in the Scribbles store. You have an entire month to enter
at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog,
so I hope to see you there. If you have some time I invite you to go
and check out the wonderful inspiration offered up from my colleagues on
the DT. We always look forward to seeing what you come up with for each
month's theme!
Until next time,
DISCLAIMER ON TURNING DIGITAL IMAGES INTO OTHER CREATIONS
If
you decide to use images from other artists in your own digital designs, it is imperative that you
read the terms of use for each and every image that you work with and
that if you don't find a clause from the creator regarding their policy on turning their images into digital creations, that
you contact the original artist. Terms of use or angel
policies will differ with each and every company selling digital images. While some companies do not
take issue with their images being made into digital creations, others do, so make sure you
seek permission from EACH COMPANY involved. Also, keep in mind that if
you do create a digital piece of work, even with permission, this does not alter the fact
that the original image belongs to
the original artist(s). Creating a hybrid project DOES NOT allow you to
claim the new creation as your own and do with it as you wish. The fact that you'd be using an image for your own personal use does not automatically allow you to do what you want with another artist's work. So, please be sure to get permission first before going ahead with your ideas.
