Blog Hop: Don't Be Late with Create with TLC

http://createwithtlc-createwithtlc.blogspot.ca/
Don't you just love Alice in Wonderland!  Well I certainly do and today I have a special treat for you.  It is time for a Create with TLC blog hop featuring themes from Alice in Wonderland; so, don't be a wildflower and join the tea party!

You should have arrived here from the brilliantly named and talented Lisa Lynn's blog.  If you are just starting, you can find a full list of all the hop stops at the bottom of this post.

Paulette has put together a special set that will be for sale at the TLC site during the hop for a bargain price.  Check them out...

You can get all  9 pieces for a special HOP PRICE of only $1.50!  But be sure to act fast.  Once the hop is over and the set goes into the store, the price will increase.

For this card I got to use the neat vintage Alice in Wonderland Happy Unbirthday Postcard image you see above.  I also got to use the Unbirthday Banner you see below.  Paulette is generously offering up the banner as a freebie to everyone who participates in the hop; so, be sure to head on over to her BLOG and leave her some love if you grab it!
To save image, left click to bring it up in the lightbox in its full size and then right click and scroll down to 'save image as'.

Now before I show you the card I created, I wanted to let you know that the special sentiment I created for my card will be offered up to a random commenter or two.   The more people who comment, the more sets I'll give away!  Just let me know which Alice in Wonderland Character you relate most to and why, in a comment on this post (no later than Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. EDT) for your chance to win the sentiment set you see below.

For example, the character I relate most to is the White Rabbit for the obvious reason that these days, I'm always running late!  I can't wait to hear who you relate to and why!

I'll also give away the set for free to anyone who can provide me with proof of purchase of the special Bloghop set seen above that Paulette is selling over at TLC.  Just send me a copy of your receipt (with any personal info you don't want me to see covered up or blacked out) to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca, with the subject heading TLC Bloghop Sentiment Request, and I'll send you the set for free.

Time to check out the card I created...

General Information:
  • This card was created 100% digitally and then layered in a poster mockup.

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Alice in Wonderland Happy Unbirthday PostcardAs mentioned previously, the image used on the front is available in the set for sale.  Be sure to check out the Bloghop Post on the main blog so you don't miss out on grabbing this set for such a bargain price before it goes into the store.  For more wonderful freebies, click HERE to head to Paulette's blog.  You can find tons of awesome options for sale in the store as well.  Click HERE to head there now.
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • I found this awesome set of small png playing cards on line courtesy of John Fitzgibbon from JFITZ.COM. After determining all the letters I needed and assigning corresponding playing cards, I then took a tag shape I purchased from Marisa Lerin, Pixel Scrapper, and added it to the front of each playing card.  And voila, 'A Very Merry Unbirthday' is born.

INSIDE
Digital Image Details:
  • Unbirthday BannerAs mentioned previously, the image used on the inside is the freebie that Paulette is allowing me to offer up on my blog.  You can grab it above. I have changed the colour digitally so that it matches with the colour of my project.
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • One I created which you can win.  Details above.

OVERALL
Digital Embellishments:

  • The shapes used for matting in behind the image and sentiment are simple shapes created in Photoshop Elements, paper pieced with one of my digital papers (details below).
  • The shadows to give each element some depth were created with a layer style, from Sheila Reid, also with Pixel Scrapper.
Digital Paper Products:
  • The background paper is from my A Matter of Time mini set of papers.  The dark green piece used as an accent in behind the background paper and also in behind the image and as matting in behind the sentiment is from my A Grungy Christmas mini set of papers.  If you are interested in purchasing either of these sets, please let me know and I'll add them to the Scribbles Designs Store.
Other Notes:
  • The poster mockup that I used to display the card is from Design Bolts.
Challenges I am hoping to enter...
***Please note that if the word verification appears, ignore it and simply click the 'publish' button**

Next stop on the route is Ileana.  So if you are curiouser and curiouser as to what you will see next, click HERE to head there now!

If you missed any of the stops along the way, here is the complete list.  You are definitely going to want to check out what all my fellow team members have in store for you!  We're all mad here and can't wait to show you!!!

Well that is it for this third Sunday in July, I'll see you again soon!

Until next time,

P.S.  The first person who can spot and recite the four quotes I have used from Alice in Wonderland, will receive a copy of the A Matter of Time paper set for free.  Just leave your answer in a comment on this post.  If more than one person leaves the answers before the comments are published later in the afternoon, I'll draw among all those who get it correct and give out an additional sentiment set.

Love how you incorporated all those different papers in with your card. Love the use of the banners on the inside - clever idea.
I think I relate to the White Rabbit as well! I'm nearly always last minute.

Such a cute card! I like the idea of sending an "unbirthday" card just to let someone know that we are thinking of them. I think I identify with the Chesire Cat most just because I love cats and can easily imagine them giving me that sly, funny grin - ALL THE TIME! The cats rule in my house. LOL!

Oh Fabulous Lisa! I reckon, right now, at this time of the month, I'm a bit like the Queen of Hearts - 'all ways here are my ways', and if you don't do it my way... off with your head! Or, bed without any supper in the case of these crazy kids of mine! hahaha

Hi Lisa, I love your card. It is tea-riffic! :) Could not help that. I like your papers you used. They look great with this theme. Thank you for the TLC digi.
I have liked Alice in wonderland since I was a child. I am not sure who I am like in the story. I don't think I fit any of the characters. Edwina Brown

Lisa,
Fabulous card and lots of info in this post. Thank you for all that work! I think I relate to Alice when she took the pill to make her small. At 4'10" and shrinking, there has been many a time I wished I had the antidote pill! Thanks for the banner. I may be back to work on those quotes.
Hugs,
DebiB
