Card Design: DS4J Progressive Christmas Card Challenge

Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah
Zip-A-Dee-A
My oh my, what a wonderful day.

A new progressive Christmas card challenge
is up and under way.
 Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah
Zip-A-Dee-A
(original lyrics by Aly and AJ)

Woo, hoo.  As some of you already know, Margy over at DS4J has decided to jump into the Progressive Christmas card challenge arena and my good friend Desíre is running it (if I understand correctly).  Now I have even more incentive for staying ahead of the Christmas Card Panic.  You may wonder why I capitalize that phrase but it really does have a life of its own.

This post is going out rather later than I had hoped but at least I'm still getting it out today.  The hubs came home from training a little early so I had to take care of supper first.  Well that is all done now so I can get back to business.

Here is the image we get to use this month:

...and here is my card, I hope that I haven't forgotten any details:

FRONT
Digital Image:
  • This image has been coloured in with a combination of Copics and chalk.
    • Copics used...Candle:  B91, B93, B95.  Flame: Y17, YR04, YR07.  Holly:  G02, Go5.  Berries:  R24 plus white marker for highlight.  A darker yellow chalk was used for base and a lighter yellow chalk was used to ground the overall image.
Embellishments:
  • The flourishes that have been part of my stash for awhile now are Recollections brand from Michael's.

INSIDE
Digital Sentiment:
  • The top part is one I released as a Holiday Handout freebie back in 2012 and the lower half I added before printing.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card base and matting: Michael's Recollection's cardstock, red.
  • The designer paper is from Recollection's Bright Christmas paper pad.
 Challenges I hope to enter...

Not bad for my second Christmas card of the year which means that I have achieved my goal of two cards for January to add to the Christmas card pot.  Remember I have a 12 months of Christmas link up going on right now that you can add your Christmas cards to as well.  Click HERE for all the details.

You still have time to get yourself all set up with this new progressive Christmas card challenge before you have to buy in so be sure to act soon if progressive challenges are one of your 'things'.  Check out the DS4J blog for all the details.  I've linked the badge above to take you to that post.  Which reminds me I really should be adding it to my sidebar.  Okay, I'm off and running (well hobbling technically).  A few more things to do before I can call it a night!

Until next time,

Lisa this is a wonderful Christmas creation with great details. Just love the design paper and the combination of the sentiment on the inside. I am jumping for joy that you have joined this Xmas progressive challenge. Thank you for taking the time to use this month’s free Christmas image. You have automatically qualified to receive next month’s Christmas image for free, which will be emailed to you at the beginning of February.

Your Christmas card is beautiful. And yes, your glitter on the flourishes does qualify :-). So glad you shared it with us for the Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenge this month.

Yay! I wondered if you would join in. You could make 2 each month with this digi. That way you would have 24 cards made by the end of the year.
I love the paper you used with the digi. So pretty. Thanks for sharing. Edwina Brown
