Good morning everyone. It is time to introduce the latest challenge over at Ike's World. The theme for the next two weeks is Valentine's Day. The perfect challenge to get you geared up for making cards to give to the people you love the most.
You can join in Ike's challenge with a creation using any kind of medium or style but remember that in order to qualify to win the prize you MUST use an Ike's Art image. If you don't already have an image and would like to purchase one, check out all the awesome ones available in the store by clicking HERE. Ike has an amazing and varied selection to choose from and you are sure to find something to suit your needs. There is also a freebie available over on the challenge blog that you can use to enter the challenge. However, please be respectful of the artist's rights and do not post, pin or share the image with anyone else. If you know some people who might like it, send them over to the challenge blog so they can pick it up for themselves.
Check out what I made for this fortnight...
General Information:
- Valentine's Day is the perfect time to get a bit racy, don't you think?
- Both the front and inside of the card were layered digitally. Then they were printed out and cut out to assemble the card. The main image on the front was printed out as a black and white line drawing so that I could colour it by hand.
FRONT
- Girly Pin Up: I just love this image. A little bit naughty but very tasteful nonetheless. You can find it in the 'People' section of the Ike's Art store or by clicking on the watermark below.
- I have coloured this image with Copic markers. Grounding around the image was achieved with yellow chalk.
- I created three simple heart shapes and adapted them using a layer style courtesy of Shelby Kate Schmitz of graphicssoft.about.com.
- I also created one simple rectangular shape to add a little extra depth and it was adapted using a layer style from The Scrappin' Cop. The matting in behind the image is also a simple shape adapted in the same way.
INSIDE
Digital Sentiment:
- One I created based on a verse by Lisa C. Weber.
OVERALL
Paper Products:
- Card base: Michael's Recollection's cardstock, white.
- The digital paper used in this creation are from the Another Tea Party kit created by Rachel Dickson available at {Computer}Scrapbook.com.
Digital Embellishments:
- The frames used on the front around the hearts and inside around the sentiment were created using a frame from Shelby Kate Schmitz. They were adapted with the same layer style from the Scrappin' Cop, referenced above.

A beautiful design once again Lisa and the wording on the inside is so true.

Amazing - brilliant colouring on the image and I really like the yellow round the outside. This really shows it off and stops her 'floating' around :-) I tried that the other day on one I did but it didn't look as well done as this :-)
Great sentiment and fabulous digital backing :-D

OOOH La La!
Well look at you miss thang!
What a card!!! ;) My most favorite things are that 1) she isn't stick skinny and 2) the inside sentiment.
I missed the naughty warning at the top of this post though ;) Glad I didn't have my little man in here with me yet, lol!!! ;)
HUGS!

Girly pin up is absolutely voluptuous Lisa! You have managed to color her into the most wonderful, full bodies, sensuous womyn. She has a look that is so deep and penetrating due to the way you shaded her, the colors you used and the way you bordered her and backgrounded her. I am so impressed to see her this way. Congratulations...you have taken Girly pin up to a whole new level with this Bodachelli look. I LOVE IT! Your Girly Pin up is amazingly sexy! xox
