Card Design: Digi Darla's Challenge #85--Anniversaries Abound!

This week for Challenge #85 the theme is "Anniversaries Abound!".  It is my month for picking the themes and for my choice this week, I want to see your projects that celebrate any type of anniversary.   It could be for a wedding anniversary, celebrating how long a couple has been together in general, an employment related anniversary, or to celebrate the number of years someone has quit smoking or been sober.  It could even be a project celebrating a blogiversary.  It is up to you as long as your creation reflects the celebration of an event marked by the passage of time.  Today, my hubs and I will have been a couple 26 years.  Additionally, I celebrate my first year in the blogiverse this week, so it is a great time for me to be focusing on this idea.

One person will be the lucky winner of FIVE Digi Darla (DD) images!  AND any entries using a DD image get entered into a SECOND drawing for THREE images. So, you could technically win eight images!  If you do use one of Kim's wonderful images make sure you let us know by writing DD after your name when you enter.

I've used the following Digi Darla's digis in my project this week:

Here are the card and details, I hope I haven't forgotten anything...

General Notes:

  • As I mentioned above, 26 years ago today, my husband and I officially started dating.  Each year we take time to celebrate the day we became a couple.  Tonight we will be going out to a restaurant for supper.  That is a pretty rare occurrence in this household due to finances but we try to at least go out twice a year.  Once on October 21st and once on our actual wedding anniversary at the end of April.  Since those are generally the only two nights a year we get to eat in a restaurant, it is nice that they are almost exactly six months apart.
  • I'm counting on Blogger behaving and getting this scheduled post out there along with another I have planned for later this morning since I'm not sure when I'll be able to check in and see that they got posted all right.  Fingers crossed, they will go out without a hitch!

FRONT
Digital Images:
  • Heart:  You can find this image in the DD store by clicking on the image name or watermark linked above. I digitally paper pieced the heart with five different digital papers and then fussy cut them before adhering them to the front of my card.
Digital Sentiment:
  • This sentiment can also be found in the DD store.  Link is above.
  • Once again I have employed a warped banner to showcase the sentiment which I printed out in a dark brown to match the paper.  Thankfully, this card won't have to go into the mail so I don't have to worry that it gets squashed.
Embellishments:
  • The brown ribbon that I have used as anchors to the hearts is Offray brand from a stash I got from my momma.

INSIDE
Digital Images:
  • For the inside of the card, I used the same five paper pieced hearts only made them much smaller, printed and fussy cut them out.  I also used the original heart as my 'writing area' and then placed the second sentiment inside the heart.
Digital Sentiment:
  • This sentiment is also available in the DD store.  Link is above.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card base: Michael's Recollection's card kit, white, large.
  • Digital Designer Papers:
    • The gorgeous papers that I have used in this card are all designed by Rachel Dickson and come from the Celebrate Summer pack available for free over at {computer}scrapbook.com
Challenges I am hoping to enter...
  • We'll see if I can find the time this week to do so.

So, how about you come on over and show us YOUR wonderful talents by entering this week over at Digi Darla's Challenges?  While you are there please check out the great projects from the rest of the design team.  We always look forward to seeing the delightful creations you come up with.

Until next time,
