Come Celebrate World Card Making Day!

World Card Making Day 2012 Logo

World Card Making Day

Each year, card-making bloggers are invited to participate in promoting World Card Making Day. Over at  Scribbles Designs and Scribbles Designs Challenge we are doing just that by celebrating World Card Making Day this year.  There is a cool collection of creations that my fellow teamies have come up with so I hope that you pop over and check them all out.

General Information:
  • You know me by now.  I have to be just a little bit different.  So instead of making a PHYSICAL CARD for World Card Making Day, I had to go and create a DIGITAL one.  Now if only there was a cool program that you could use that would allow you to create an inside too and allow the recipient to open it up digitally.  Well, actually it does exist but I think it is proprietary knowledge for the company I am thinking of and others like it.  Maybe one day we'll all have access to this type of software that allows us to send a digital card that we can make from scratch (instead of using prefab templates) through the Internet to be delivered and opened up like a real card. Wouldn't that be cool?  It would never take the place of physical cards but it would mean that I could send so many more through e-mail.  Do you know how much postage is to the other side of the world? Or even in this country or to the States for that matter?  I'd love to be able to send all my peeps lots more handmade cards but alas...the pocketbook doesn't allow for it.  So instead, consider this my virtual card to all you wonderful readers to help inspire you to always bring a positive attitude with you wherever you may go!

Digital Images:
  • That cool and funky frame is none other than a Scribbles Designs original.  You can find it in the store by clicking the watermark below.  I knew I wanted to work with one of Sandy's fabulous frames but it was the positive words around this one in particular that inspired me to choose it.
  • I had lots of fun playing with this image.  I had to decide on my overall colour scheme first and so went and chose all the elements I'd be incorporating into the overall design. For this project I worked with elements from two separate digital kits.  The digital paper is from the "These Friends" kit designed by Correen Silke and the ric rac ribbon, heart, star and circles are from the "Sweet Escape" kit designed by Valerie Foster.  Both of these kits were obtained from {computer}scrapbook.com.
  • Once I knew my colours, I decided to colour each of the words on the frame using choices from within the project.  I did all of this digitally working with Photoshop Essentials 5.
Digital Sentiment:
  • This is one that I had created and released previously over on the Path of Positivity Challenge blog but completely revamped it for use in this project.  If you are interested in the original version, you can grab the freebie HERE.

Now it is your turn to get in all the action...
Please join us in celebrating World Card Making Day!  Sandy has created a special challenge so that you can get in on the celebration as well.  You have the opportunity to create and upload a card over on the  Scribbles Designs Challenge blog for your chance to win one of three prizes.  Yes you read that correctly--three lucky people will walk away with three images of their choice from the Scribbles Designs store.  You have until 9:00 pm on October 11th to get your entries in.  Please make sure you head over to the blog to check out all the details on how to enter this challenge!

I hope that you will check back in with me later this evening as I have my own celebration for World Card Making Day planned.  I have some goodies arranged so you don't want to miss it!

Until next time,
