Here is my card, I hope that I haven't forgotten any details:

    • Coloured with Copics.  On hindsight I should have grounded it.  Not sure what happened there.  Maybe the fact that I was struggling to breathe at the time I was working on it, might have something to do with my forgetfulness.
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • One I created.  I thought it was perfectly paired with the overall theme of my card.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card, image and sentiment base: Michael's Recollection's cardstock, white.

Challenges I am hoping to enter...

I really hope that you will join us sometime during the next two weeks.  Don't forget that along with all the typical rules that apply to the majority of challenges out there (please click HERE to become familiar with all the rules), you MUST USE A DIGITAL OR STAMPED IMAGE to qualify for the drawing (unless stated otherwise).  We would absolutely love to see you use a Pattie's Creations (PC) image on your card, but you are allowed to use other images.  If you do use a PC image, you will gain an extra entry in the draw and will have a better chance to WIN!  You can enter twice per challenge and of course MUST follow all the challenge requirements that are posted for each challenge. Easy Peasy right!

As always, I hope that you will also check out what my fabulous teammates have offered up for inspiration and pop over in two weeks time for the next challenge brought to you by Team Pattieboop.  Oh and don't forget...Pattie offers up a new freebie the first Friday of the month.  So, be sure to pop over next week to grab it.  You won't want to miss it!

    Until next time,

Notebook Design: Flowers Bring Smiles from Nicecrane Designs

    http://nicecranedesigns.com/

Happy Thursday all!  My throat is feeling much better although my chest is still affected and I still don't have any voice.  But all in all, I am making progress and that is a good sign.  The tree outside my window has started to flower as well, so it looks like spring has finally started to bloom.

I don't know about you, but looking at beautiful flowers always seems to bring a smile to my face.  It is no different with the gorgeous floral images from Nicecrane Designs.  I recently worked with an image from the Flowers Bring Smiles II collage sheet to create a little notebook cover for a birthday gift for a friend of mine.

    Check it out...

    FRONT
    Digital Image Details:
    • Flowers Bring Smiles II:  For this project I used the image you see on the top left hand side of the preview below.  All of these floral images are gorgeous and I have immediate plans for at least two more of the images from this collection.  Flowers are great because they are so versatile.  Whether creating birthday, Mother's Day, thinking of you, get well, or even sympathy cards, flowers fit the bill.  Click on the name or the watermark below to take you to their location in the store.
    http://nicecranedesigns.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10&products_id=1261
    Embellishments:
    • The sheer white and gold edged ribbon is Crafts brand and was purchased at Dollarama.
    • I created a monogram in Photoshop Elements using a letter from a floral alphabet and recoloured it to match colours from the floral image.
    • I found a flower within the image that would work and printed it four times.  I then fussy cut out the different layers and built it up and attached it to the lower left hand side of the monogram.  Here is a side view to show the depth a little bit better...

    BACK
    OVERALL
    Paper Products:
    • Image was printed out on Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
    • Shimmery green cardstock used as matting in behind the image on front and back is Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.
Challenges I am hoping to enter...
    Before I go...
There are always so many wonderful images available at Nicecrane's Designs that I can't leave without sharing some of the others with you.  If you love flowers then the Colorful Flowers collection may be perfect for you.  This collage sheet contains eight beautiful images perfect for card and ATC design.  Be sure to go and check them out while you are at the store (c

Challenge ends May 31, 11:55 PM EST

Now this month I have done something completely different for my DT project to help inspire you.  If you've been around my blog for a while, you know how much I love creating digital papers and other kinds of embellishments.  Well this week, I have taken one of the images from the Fresh Brewed Design's store and made it into a digital paper and some other digital embellishments for MY OWN PERSONAL USE on future projects.  You also know how much I love increasing the versatility of the images I work with, and as long as you have permission from the original artist, this is just one more way to play around with images.

Now, please note that I sought out and received permission from Heather to do so. Which brings me to the following Disclaimer:
If you decide to do something similar, it is imperative that you read the terms of use for each and every image that you work with and that if you don't find a clause from the creator regarding their policy on turning their images into digital creations, that you contact the original artist.  Terms of use or angel policies will differ with each and every company selling digital images.  While some companies do not take issue with their images being made into digital creations, others do, so make sure you seek permission from EACH COMPANY involved.  Also, keep in mind that if you do create a digital piece of work, even with permission, this does not alter the fact that the original image belongs to the original artist(s).  Creating a hybrid project DOES NOT allow you to claim the new creation as your own and do with it as you wish.
Please also keep in mind, that any of these new creations that you make would strictly be for your OWN PERSONAL USE and the rights to the original image lie with the original creator.  What you are left with is a creation that you can use over and over again, just as would other digital papers and embellishments as long as you provide credit to the original designer.  It could be something as simple as, "Digital paper created by me using an image, with permission, from Fresh Brewed Designs".

Here is what I came up with.  I chose the picture inspiration and used the colours.  Also, what goes better on a plate than goodies...
So now I have a fun set of images that I can use on future birthday cards.  The first creation is a 6 inch by 6 inch piece of paper.  Then I decided to create some matching brads, one for each different coloured cupcake stack.  Finally I decided to create a ribbon.  In fact, I have already used the paper in this set for a card that will be coming out on Friday for another DT project.  However, I think it is okay to show you right hand side of the inside of my card here...
I am really pleased with how the paper turned out.  I created the sentiment to match the overall theme of the card.  You'll just have to come back on Friday to see the rest of it!

Thanks to Heather, I will be able to use these creations for years to come in more birthday cards.  Working with digis is just so much fun and there are just so many things you can do.  Remember though, seek permission before doing something similar.

So what will you come up with for our current challenge?  Get your mojo on and join us!  We look forward to seeing what you create!!!

At Fresh Brewed Designs we always have a fresh pot of creativity brewing. So stop by and join us for a cuppa whenever you want!

    Until next time,

Card Design: Ike's World Challenge #18...Song/Film Title

A lovely early Tuesday morning to you all.  Hopefully, I am snuggled in bed resting, trying to work this virus through my system and Blogger is behaving and posting this as scheduled.

It is time to share the new Ike's World Challenge.  This fortnight the theme is Song/Film TitleThis card is based on the song Always by Atlantic Star.  It came out in 1987, the year that the hubs and I met and it became "our song".  This challenge presented me with the perfect opportunity to create our 25th wedding anniversary card which was exactly four weeks ago today on April 29th.  I am very proud of this card.  Check it out...

    • With This Ring: You can find it in the 'My Latest Designs' section of the Ike's Art store or by clicking on the name or watermark below.  I really struggled in March because I just didn't know what I was going to do for this very important card.  Then Ike came out with this image as part of a new release and my heart heaved a giant sigh of joy.  Thank you so much Ike!  This was the perfect image for this special card.

    Embellishments:
    • The flowers are from a stash I got from my momma.  The colours, peach and ivory, represent the colours of our wedding.

Remember, you can join in Ike's challenge with a creation using any kind of medium or style but in order to qualify to win the prize you MUST use an Ike's Art image. You can find some fab ones in the store HERE.  There is also a freebie available over on the challenge blog that you can use to enter the challenge but please be respectful of the artist's rights and do not post, pin or share the image with anyone else. Card Design: DS4J Progressive Christmas Card Challenge...May

    http://digistamps4joy-sa.blogspot.ca/2014/01/monthly-christmas-challenge-january-2014.html
Thank you for your continued well wishes.  One one hand my throat is not quite so raw.  On the other hand, my chest is a bit worse.  Given that over the course of most viruses, my symptoms morph around a bit, I'm taking it in stride.  Also, even though I've crawled out of bed a lot later than I would have liked, at least I crawled out of bed.  I'l mark that in the win column for today.  I am also thankful that I have FINALLY finished all my cards for all the different progressive challenges I take part in.

Right now, it is time to submit my card for this month's Progressive Christmas Challenge taking place over at DigiStamps4Joy.  Now while it is one more card to add to the Christmas Card Pot to help me avoid the yearly Christmas Card Panic, sadly it looks like I'm not going to achieve my goal of two cards this month.
Christmas Card Count to date: 10

I'm going to need to be getting some extra holiday cards made and soon!  Here is the DS4J image we get to use this month:
    http://digistamps4joy.co.za/eshop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1&products_id=1054
...and here is my card, I hope that I haven't forgotten any details:

    FRONT
    Digital Image Details:
    • King 1-Time to Go:  If you aren't part of the progressive challenge and would like to purchase it so that you can join in, click HERE or on the watermark above to find it in the DS4J store.
    • This image has been coloured in with Copic Markers.  I used chalk to create some ground.
    Embellishments:
    • The little half pearls are Crafts brand from Dollarama.

    INSIDE
    OVERALL
    Digital Sentiments:
    • Both the sentiment on the front and the one on the inside are from the fabulous Create With TLC.    Click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and HERE to go to the store.  Seriously, what would I do without the incredible generosity of this woman?!
    • I used chalk to highlight the one on the front.
    Paper Products:
    • Card base: Michael's Recollection's cardstock, cream.
    • Designer Paper:  From my scrap collection.  Once again I just don't have the energy to go find out what book it was from.  Sorry!
    • The yellowish textured sheet (also from my stash but at least I remember this one) used on the front and the dark brown cardstock (matting for front and inside) is Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.
    Challenges I hope to enter...

If you are interested in joining the DS4J progressive Christmas card challenge you will need to contact Desíre (her details are at the bottom of the post).  I've linked the badge above to take you to that post.

Well, one more card is finally done. Soon it will be time to reveal the list of people who earned the paper for May in the 12 Months of Christmas link up. Don't forget you can jump in and add your own holiday cards to it as well. Click HERE for all the details. You still have a little over six days to link up your two cards for May in order to get your free paper for the month.

No rest for the sick as I've not got several projects and posts for upcoming DT assignments due in the next few days.  Plus I need to be working on putting together a kit for an upcoming challenge I am sponsoring, plus, plus, plus...God, give me strength...

    Until next time,
