Bit By The Bug Tuesday

Today, I've been bit by the bug...the Creative Bug that is!

As Naomi Edwards own personal, self-appointed one woman promotional team and chief card designer, it is time to highlight a couple of the digital stamps she has for sale in her store.  I was so thrilled awhile back when Naomi asked me to work with her digis.  It was right after that, when we decided to pool our talents and collaborate.   For now, I am just so excited to work with her designs and to be able to share them with all of you.

Naomi has her own unique flair and it shows through to her digital designs.  This week the two stamps that I'm highlighting are perfect for all your Valentine's cards or love related projects.  Both of these stamps can be found in the Special Occasions section of Creative Bug Digitals.

First up we have Valentine's Dog.

I created this card to show off this adorable little Valentine's dog.

Here are the card details, I hope I haven't forgotten anything...

General Notes:
  • It was so much fun working with this adorable little puppy.  The fantasy element to him allowed me to play around with colours that we don't traditionally see in dogs.  Well, unless of course your Aunt Mabel has dyed her poodle pink.  Then I suppose you will have seen a pink dog.  However it will probably not have had blue spots on it.
  • This card is meant for one of my best friend's little girls.
Digital Images:
  • Valentine Dog:  If you are interested in purchasing this image of the Valentine Dog, clicking on the image of it above or HERE will take you to its location within the store.  It was coloured using Copic markers.  Dog: RV00, RV02, RV04 (fur); B00, B02, B05 (spots).  HeartY11, Y13, Y15.  RibbonV12, V15, V17Grass:  G00, G02, G05.  SkyBG70.  Footprints and Pathway:  W1, W3, W5, W7.
Digital Sentiment:
  • Front:  The sentiment on the front is one I created.
Rubber Stamps and Ink:
  • The little flowers on the inside are from a stamp set picked up at Dollarama.  They were inked using Memento Rhubarb Stock.
  • The letters are from Recollections Alpha Zing stamp set.  They were also inked using Memento Rhubarb Stock.
  • The edges of the inside white piece were inked using Versa Magic Pixie Dust using a blending tool.
Paper Products:
  • Card base & shadow: Michael's Recollection's CardstockSouth Beach Collection.
  • Designer PapersStriped (front & inside)--Recollections Bold Basics Paper Pad
  • Yellow Strips: Recollections South Beach Cardstock
Ribbon:
  • Offray Ribbon Treasures: From my mom so I have no idea where it came from.
Embellishments:
  • Synthetic flowers:  Dollarama.

Next up we have Valentine's Bear.

This is the card I created to show off this hugable little sweetie-pie.

General Notes:
  • I had as much fun working with this little sweetheart as I did the last one.  I'm a sucker for teddy bears.  I just love the little heart shaped nose on this little guy.  It makes for such a unique characteristic.  Well, that and the fact that he is wearing a t-shirt.  I don't see a lot of bears in clothing.  It is a nice change.
  • I'm sorry that the colouring of the picture isn't so hot.  Unfortunately this one was a bit of a rush job as it was being picked up the next day and so I had to take the picture when it was dark outside so everything is a bit shadowed.
  • This card is meant for my best friend's other little girl.
Digital Images:
  • Valentine Bear:  If you are interested in purchasing this image of the Valentine Bear, clicking on the image of it above or HERE will take you to its location within the store.  It was coloured mostly using Copic markers.  Bear: B00, B02, B05 (fur); R20 (cheeks); R20, R22, R24 (ears, nose, footpads).  HeartY11, Y13, Y15.  T-shirt: R20, R22, R24Grass:  G00, G02, G05.  Sky:  Watercolour pencils.
Digital Sentiment:
  • Front:  The sentiment on the front is one I created.
Rubber Stamps and Ink:
  • The little flowers on the inside are from a stamp set picked up at Dollarama.  They were inked using Memento Bahama Blue.
  • The letters are from Recollections Alpha Zing stamp set.  They were also inked using Memento Bahama Blue.
  • The edges of the inside white piece were inked using Versa Magic Soft Breeze using a blending tool.
Paper Products:
  • Card baseMichael's Recollection's Cardstock, Preppy Beach Collection.
  • Designer PapersFloral (front & inside)--Recollections All Girl Paper Pad.  Yellow polka dotted (front)--scraps so I don't remember.
  • Peacock blue shadow:  Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.
Ribbon:
  • Crafts brand:  Dollarama.
Embellishments:
  • Paper flowers:  Dollarama.

Challenges I hope to enter include:
It has been my pleasure to be able to share these delightful digi designs with you.  Naomi has a freebie waiting for you over on her blog.  Here is a sneak peek to the charming one up for grabs this week.  Clicking on the image will take you to her blog-post offering up this digi:

As a reward for your patience in getting through this long post, I'm offering up the sentiment I created for the cards above.  That's two freebies for the price of reading one post all the way through!

Thank you so much for stopping by.  As I've now added to my comment section, whether you are a regular, here for the first time or popping over in your official capacity as a DT member, please know how much I appreciate the words that you leave behind.  Your encouragement helps me to become a better designer.   I try my best to reply to your comments (when an email address is available) but that is getting more and more difficult as my plate fills up with new responsibilities, new roles, and new obligations.  If I don't get the opportunity to thank you personally, know that I don't take a single comment for granted. Thank you for your understanding.

Until next time,

Note: I apologize if there are any formatting issues.  This is a scheduled post and we all know Blogger has a mind of it's own.  If it turns out that something looks wonky, i.e.--part of the sentence a different size than the rest, I'll fix it as soon as I'm able to.
