Card Design: Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas Challenge #1--Card One

OMG

The Great Glitter Guardians were watching over me tonight, I tell you.  Around 7:20 pm I decided it was time to print out the images I was going to be needing in order to enter into the progressive Christmas card challenge I had signed up for, a few weeks ago.  I had printed out a practice sheet last night and figured I'd get my inside verse, in addition to the tag I always put on the back indicating who the images came from, all printed out as well.  So, I went over to the Lady Anne's Progressive Christmas Challenge blog to look for the name of the artist who fronted the two images we received for the first challenge.  I had lots of time.  After all, the cards weren't due until February 23rd--or so I thought.

Lord only knows where that date came from because when I went over there tonight I saw that the post for Challenge # 2 was already up there.  Well my Digital Design Diva started having a panic attack right there on the spot.  How could challenge #2 already be listed?  I still have a week, don't I?

Apparently not!  I had exactly 5 hours and 40 minutes to get not one, but two cards done and entered before 1:00 a.m. EST.  As I sit here to type up this post, I have exactly forty six minutes to spare.

Thank goodness for patient, supportive husbands willing to pick up a sub on the way home for supper and then proceed to eat by himself with me sitting next to him on the couch acting like a little crazy Christmas card factory.

I had had such grand designs for these particular cards.  I was going to use my Cricut machine and cut out some nice frames to set them off...yada yada yada.  Alas, none of it was to come to pass.  Never before in the history of card making have I ever put out two cards in less than five hours.  Granted they aren't exactly complete.  I still have to do the insides BUT the important part, using the images, has been completed.  PHEW!!!!!!!

Of course, this post and the next one even more so, will be my shortest card posts in history.  It is now 12:20 am and by the time I get everything uploaded and the next post done, there won't be any time to spare.  So without any further preamble here is my first card...

General Notes:
  • Not my best work by a long shot.  There was no time for practicing tonight.  Nor the time to play around with too many layout ideas.
  • Sorry, other than image details, there will be no card details for obvious reasons.  I still have post #2 to do for the second card, have to get them uploaded plus still have to get out the showcase.

Image Details:

Challenges I hope to enter:
I hope to be able to add to this list within the week and or month.

Gotta go!  If there is anything you want to know about the card just drop me an e-mail.

Until next time,

Oh Lisa LOL! I don't mean to laugh at you, but with you. Now that it's over I'm sure you can see the comic relief in it. :) We've all had our plans screwed up from time to time...I believe there's a saying that goes "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans." You obviously didn't need to practice, the card came out great! Love ya ~Deb~
