Card Design: Scribbles Designs Challenge #9--Pens, Pencils, Paper

It is time for the next challenge over at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.

This month for Challenge #9, the theme is Pens, Pencils, Paper.  This should give you a lot of different ideas on how to approach the challenge.
 
In order to particpate in our challenges you DO NOT NEED TO USE A SCRIBBLES DESIGNS IMAGE on your project.  You still must follow the monthly theme and you can enter as many times as you'd like AS LONG AS YOU USE A SCRIBBLES DESIGNS IMAGE. However, if you choose to enter the challenge using another artist's image you are limited to three entries.  As always, you are welcome to combine your entry with other challenges and we ask that you enter new projects/cards only - no back linking, plus the standard rules of linking your blog post and mentioning Scribbles Designs in your post.  This challenge will end at 9pm PST on October 15th.

The winner, chosen by Random.org will receive 3 digital images.  If you use a Scribbles Designs image, please add SD after your name--example: Lisa SD--and your name will be entered twice into the drawing for the prize.  Additionally, there will be 1 digital image handed out for each of the Top 3, chosen by the Scribbles Designs Design Team.  We look forward to seeing your interpretation of this month's theme. There also might be some extra recognition or prizes, you just never know.

To help inspire you, I've created a card using Sandy's wonderful cool new fountain pen image that I introduced to you last week. Click on the watermark below to take you to its location in the store.

#815--Fountain Pen

Here are the card and details, I hope I haven't forgotten anything...

General Notes:

• I have to apologize for the quality of this picture once again as we are still no farther along on deciding what camera we are going to purchase.
• I've been wanting to make a couple 'thinking of you' cards to have in my stash and this challenge has provided the perfect opportunity to get started on it.

FRONT 

Digital Image:

• Fountain Pen:  Information for where to buy this image is included above.  It was coloured using Copic markers:  Y13, Y15, Y17,  C3, C5, & C7.

Digital Sentiment:

• I just brought the image of the fountain pen into Publisher and added the simple sentiment to match what was going to appear on the inside. Then I printed it out as one piece.

Other Details:

• Before printing out the image and sentiment, I added a box around it with some faux stitching.  I like the look and will have to remember to do this again in the future.

Ribbon:

• The ribbon is Offray brand from the stash of ribbons I got from my momma.

INSIDE

Digital Image:

• Thinking of You Mousie:  I have been wanting to incorporate some of Mary Ellen's amazingly wonderful Dearie Doll images into some of my projects and this card afforded me the perfect opportunity to do so. I'm afraid that it is no longer available for free as it was on M.E.'s original free digital blog over at blog.com which has since been removed.  However, she has opened up a new blog here on blogspot and has tons of stamps available for free in both colour and black and white.  You can check out all her work HERE.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

• Card base: Crafts Card Creations premade cards and envelopes, rose coloured.
• Designer Papers:  
• Floral paper (front & inside)--This pretty paper is from Recollection's The Sweetest Thing Paper Pad, a new pad I picked up a couple months ago. 
• The pink cardstock used for matting (front & inside):  Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.
