Card Design: Designed 2 Delight January Challenge

Holy, Hana Banana!  That is four card posts in one week!  I have no idea how some of you ladies pump out four or more in a single day.  My hat is off to you!

It is time for me to post my card for the Designed 2 Delight stamp of the month challenge.  In order to enter this challenge, you must either have received the latest image by having participated in the previous month or you can buy the stamp for the current month's challenge.  Everyone who enters and follows the rules is a winner because you automatically get the stamp for the next month's challenge.  Stop by the site and check out the rules for yourself.  While you are there, have a look around.  They have some really adorable images.  This is the card I'm entering for the January challenge.

Front of the card...

Inside the card...

Now this card ended up extremely clean and simple (CAS) because...well.. because apparently I didn't take card measurments into consideration when printing out the digi to colour.  I had different ideas for the layout but the digi was just so big I didn't really have any choice.  I didn't even have enough space to add a shadow in behind the image.  I hope the little girl I'm creating it for will like it.  Note to self:  Measure digi BEFORE printing.

Here are the card details, I hope I haven't forgotten anything...

  • Digi-Image:  The image on the front is of course the free image I got for playing along last month over at Designed 2 DelightThis is such a sweet little image.  It was coloured using Copic markers.  Hair:  E00, E11, E13, E15.  FleshE000, E00, E02, R20. Bird:  W1, W3, W5, Y15.  Cupcake:  R20, R22, R24 (top); Blender pen, C1, C3 (wrapper).  Cat:  Y21, YR21, YR24 (body); R20, R22 (collar).  Clothes:  BG70, BG72, BG75 (top, sash); BG72, BG75, BG78 (pants); BG72, BG75 (hair ribbon)Ground:  G00, G02 (grass, leaves); RV00, RV02, Y11, Y13, BV02, BV04 (flowers).  Grounding around girl and bird:  BG70.
  • Sentiments:  The birthday sentiment on the front of the card is from Bird's Cards. I created the inside sentiment.  Both are printed onto Recollection's Cardstock White Paper.
  • Paper:  While you actually can't see it I used a bright pink paper for the card base purchased as part of a paper pack I got awhile back at Michael's so I'm afraid I don't know what the pack is called.  The brown with polka dots paper I used in the background for the front and on the inside is from the very first paper pad I ever bought.  It is from the Ki Memories' Fancy Free paper pad purchased at Michael's; the light pink paper I used to back the sentiment on the inside (ie. shadow) is from some of Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.
  • Embellishments:  The four medium sized pink coloured brads were purchased at Dollarama.
  • One challenge calls for flowers.  There are flowers on the ground in the drawing and of course three giant ones on the inside.
Challenges I will be entering the card into:
I will more than likely be adding to this list throughout the week or month.

Thanks so much for stopping by and please leave some love if you have the time.

Until next time,

Generosity is not too common any more. Your card just made me happy, Your personality is not like mine, anyone who uses copics and even knows what number and it makes my brain tired thinkg about it. BUT looking at you card made me happy, great work, resulting in a beautiful card.
Thank you for joining us at Word Art Wednesday.

Lisa, I can not tell you how many times I've done that myself. I get in a hurry to print and color and forget to adjust the image size. I either end up with a CAS or a HUGE card LOL. You did a great job with this and the coloring is just perfect. Big Hugs,
